"Dai ge, Ling Ling is in your care!"
She put down the child and rushed out of the elevator in a hurry.
Dai Ze roared from behind, "Where are you going!"
When Song Xi reached the door of room A267, it was open, and a tall, familiar figure stood there.
The man looked over, his gaze like the bottom of a deep valley, calm and dark from a short distance.
Song Xi walked over.
"Fortunately, nothing happened..."
Shao Cheng came out of the room, holding the short-haired girl in his arms.
The girl seemed to have lost consciousness, her arms hanging limply, her wrists wrapped in bandages soaked in blood, a glaring red.
Song Xi's heart skipped a beat, but seeing that Shao Cheng, a doctor, was present, she felt a little relieved.
Just as she was about to ask, Lou Yuming suddenly reached out and blocked her, his voice as cold and calm as water, saying to Shao Cheng, "The ambulance is here, downstairs."
"Then I'll take her down first. You contact Mr. Liu."
Lou Yuming nodded slightly and, after the man left, he put his hands in his pockets and strode forward.
Song Xi thought for a moment and followed him, "What are you doing here?"
"That girl just now..."
He stopped and skipped her question, retorting, "Now that the person has been found, why are you back?"
Song Xi was stunned, "How did you know I was looking for the child?"
In a flash, she exclaimed, "You gave the room card to Dai ge?!"
Lou Yuming remained noncommittal, his back looking extremely proud.
Song Xi followed him into the room. As soon as they entered, she quickly took off her mask and hat.
She was so hot she couldn't stand it, almost suffocating her.
Her hair, wet with sweat, stuck to her face. Song Xi took out a few tissues, wiped her face, and continued to ask him, "Is that girl alright?"
Lou Yuming sat on the sofa, crossed his legs, and while looking at his phone, thinking about how to talk to Mr. Liu, he asked casually, "How did you find out?"
"Gas. As soon as I entered that room, I smelled a pungent odor. Then I remembered it was gas."
Lou Yuming raised an eyebrow, motioning for her to continue.
"And the bathroom was full of water. Combined with what Ling Ling said, I guessed she might have wanted to drown herself at the time, but didn't expect Ling Ling to run into her."
Lou Yuming pinched the bridge of his nose, looking quite troubled.
He had thought it was just a rebellious teenage girl, but the situation was more serious than he had imagined.
Song Xi went on talking to herself. Seeing that he didn't react much, she thought she should leave. But as she turned, she heard him say, "Anna gave you trouble?"
Who told him?
Song Xi mumbled, "Not really."
"You came all the way here to help find the child, and you still say 'not really'."
Song Xi asked him, "Then why are you here? Do you know that girl?"
Lou Yuming's lips curved, "So concerned about my business?"
Song Xi turned her face away, denying it, "I'm not."
"Stubborn." He beckoned to her, "Come here."
Song Xi hesitated, but still walked over.
Before she could steady herself, he suddenly pulled her onto his lap, his movements intimate and ambiguous.
Song Xi's ears turned red, and she struggled to get up.
He lowered his voice, placing his hand on her waist, "Don't move."
Song Xi had no choice but to sit still.
She asked again, "That girl..."
"Liu Sisi," he said, "the daughter of Mr. Liu from OP Group."
Was that the Mr. Liu that Shao Cheng had mentioned at the restaurant last time?
Song Xi's expression faltered for a second, and she blurted out before she even realized it, "First meeting at a hotel?"
Lou Yuming lazily lifted his eyelids to look at her, then sniffed her, "What did you eat for lunch? Why does it smell so sour?"
