Cang Ming

Chapter 255 White-Eyed Wolf

In the VIP ward of Yunji Hospital.

The man lay on the bed, his face pale, his handsome features devoid of any color.

Shao Cheng stared at him with growing anger, "You're really suicidal."

After leaving the ward, Shao Cheng found Song Xi still sitting on a chair in the corridor.

He frowned. Despite his displeasure, he walked over, "I told you to go back first. I'll take care of things here."

Song Xi slowly stood up, ignoring his previous words, "Is he awake?"

"What do you think?" Shao Cheng sneered, his glasses reflecting a cold light. "Song Xi, I've known Lou Yumíng for so many years, and I've never seen him risk his life for anyone. You're the first."

Song Xi was flustered, digging her nails into her palms.

After staring at her for a moment, Shao Cheng suddenly asked, "What do you feel for him now?"

Song Xi pursed her lips.

Shao Cheng pressed, "Do you like him?"

Under his oppressive gaze, Song Xi hesitated, "I don't know..."

This statement made Shao Cheng laugh in anger.

"You don't know? Song Xi, you're an adult. I advise you, if you can't even control your own feelings, then get out of this circle as soon as possible!"

His tone was aggressive, and Song Xi bit her lip in frustration.

Shao Cheng's eyes glinted with mockery as he turned to leave coldly, leaving behind a parting shot.

"It seems Lou Yumíng's taste isn't that great either!"

Around one in the afternoon, Shao Cheng came to check on the patient, only to find that Song Xi had already left!

He scoffed, thinking of her as an ungrateful wretch. His impression of her, which had been improving, had now worsened.

Fortunately, Lou Yumíng was awake.

Although Shao Cheng felt relieved, he continued to be sarcastic. After completing a series of examinations, he said indifferently, "You have a tough life. If you have the guts, keep courting death next time."

Lou Yumíng said weakly, "Where is Song Xi?"

"..."

Shao Cheng was speechless and rolled his eyes a full 360 degrees in front of him. "Brother, I performed surgery on you all night, and you wake up asking about someone else. Have you no conscience?"

Lou Yumíng didn't have time for his banter. He frowned and repeated, his face pale, "Where is she?"

Shao Cheng said coldly, "She ran off! I think you're even more ungrateful than she is!"

Just as he finished speaking, there was a knock on the door.

Shao Cheng composed himself and said in a deep voice, "Come in."

To his surprise, when the door opened, it was Song Xi!

Lou Yumíng's eyes lit up, but before he could get a good look, Shao Cheng, in his white coat, blocked his view.

Shao Cheng put his hands in his pockets and said in a chilling tone, "Didn't you leave? What are you doing back here!"

Shao Cheng noticed that she hadn't changed her clothes, was breathing slightly heavily, and had sweat on her forehead.

What had she been doing?

Song Xi didn't speak. She took two steps forward, wanting to see Lou Yumíng.

But Shao Cheng stood like a wall, blocking her path.

His tone was unpleasant, and he even began to usher her out, "Get out! You're not welcome here!"

Lou Yumíng's brow furrowed. He was displeased with Shao Cheng's tone.

It seemed that Shao Cheng's prejudice against Song Xi had deepened because of his injury.

He was about to speak when Song Xi spoke first.

"It's my right to see him, and it has nothing to do with you."

Her words were astonishing, even making Lou Yumíng freeze.

Shao Cheng was also taken aback by her cold retort.

She had seemed like a weakling who could be bullied before, but now she was standing tall. Who gave her the courage?

Shao Cheng lost his temper and attacked her coldly, without mercy. "You have the nerve! If it weren't for you, would he have gotten hurt?"
