Chapter 322 Kun Shan Pian Yu

The female lead, Song Xi, naturally thought that "Jing Pian Ling" was a hot IP. She didn't believe that Jin Ying's mention of the female lead having been decided was related to her.

She wasn't sure how Lou Yuming and Director Pang met, but Lou Yuming was a businessman; he only did things that were beneficial to him.

As for her, she was like expired merchandise to him now, so he wouldn't go to great lengths for her. Song Xi never even considered that.

However, since she was here and had this opportunity to meet Director Pang, just as Jin Ying said, she had to seize it.

So, Song Xi rallied her spirits, and she and Jin Ying encouraged each other before walking into the tea room together.

A faint aroma of tea wafted through the room. Although Song Xi didn't know much about tea, she could smell that this scent was extraordinary.

Jin Ying whispered beside her, "West Lake Longjing, top grade. Just this small piece they're holding has this much value."

She held up her fingers to indicate a number.

"I didn't expect you to even know this?" Song Xi asked in surprise.

Jin Ying chuckled self-deprecatingly, "Heh, I saw it online. To get by in this circle, you can't seem like you've never seen the world. You should watch it more when you have time. I have a PDF; I'll send you a copy later."

"...Okay."

There were two tables in the tea room: a main table and a secondary table.

It would be improper for the two of them to just stand there. So, Song Xi asked Jin Ying to sit down with her.

Unexpectedly, Jin Ying said cautiously, "Director Pang and Mr. Lou haven't asked us to sit. It would be too rude if we sat down without permission."

But standing there looked even worse. Director Pang looked like someone who was particular, like a servant.

Song Xi furrowed her brows slightly.

Director Pang looked over and smiled, "Sit down, don't be reserved."

Only then did Jin Ying cautiously sit on a chair.

The personalities of these two girls were completely different.

While Director Pang appeared to be drinking tea, he was actually observing them silently.

The project "Jing Pian Ling" was of utmost importance. Since he took it on, he had been receiving calls almost every day, undoubtedly about casting. He didn't know where they got the inside information, as the matter hadn't been announced online yet.

In his work, he had always been disciplined, strict, and meticulous. He naturally had no desire to appease or maintain these messy relationships. So, he thought about going to the countryside to relax. Unexpectedly, his car broke down halfway, which was unforeseen. Coupled with his phone dying, if Lou Yuming hadn't happened to pass by, he might have frozen to death in the mountains.

Director Pang had always been good at judging people, and he prided himself on his keen insight. Moreover, Lou Yuming didn't hide his identity, which made him feel that this young man was upright and honest.

They chatted the whole way.

Lou Yuming was excellent at pleasing elders. He was successful in his career, handsome, and exuded a refined temperament in his every move. Most importantly, he was eloquent and knew how to conduct himself.

The song "You Light Up My Life" playing on the radio by chance happened to be the插曲 (interlude/theme song) of Director Pang's first film, "Kun Shan Pian Yu," which directly touched Director Pang's soft, unguarded heart.

"That's a very old song," he murmured softly.

Lou Yuming's lips curved slightly where Director Pang couldn't see him, and then he said gently, "'Kun Shan Pian Yu' from '92."

Director Pang was surprised, "I didn't expect Mr. Lou to remember it so clearly."

"Naturally," Lou Yuming said with a serious expression, "I really like that work."

Lou Yuming possessed a kind of magic; when he spoke gently, it was difficult to discern any trace of a lie.

So, Director Pang believed him and started discussing various films and television works with Lou Yuming. To his surprise, the latter knew them all by heart.

Later, Director Pang probed, "Actually, I am also a director."

He thought Lou Yuming would press for details, if all of this was truly premeditated. But surprisingly, Lou Yuming merely responded with a faint "Mhm," and replied, "I look forward to your future works."

He was truly too outstanding in every aspect!

Director Pang rarely admired someone this much. Lou Yuming was the first.

So, in the car, he even joked, "I have a granddaughter who just turned eighteen this year. When you have time, let her learn from you."

Lou Yuming's lips held a faint smile.

Therefore, although this was their first meeting today, Director Pang had immense trust in Lou Yuming.

Having tested him for so long in the car on previous occasions without any issues, he didn't think these two girls would have any connection with Lou Yuming.

As for what these two girls were thinking, or how they happened to be playing golf at this club today, that was unknown.

Fortunately, they didn't speak up, but simply sat quietly to the side, not rushing forward to showcase themselves without invitation. Based on this alone, they deserved to remain in the tea room.

"Would you like something to drink?" Director Pang asked with a smile, his sharp gaze softening.

"No..."

Jin Ying was about to wave her hand when Song Xi preempted her, calmly asking, "Does Director Pang have any recommendations?"
