The quietness made Yun Shunian look at Ning Jing with a hint of confusion. Ning Chen instinctively stepped in front of Ning Jing, blocking Yun Shunian's view.
"Alright, then I'll go eat with my sister first."
Yun Shunian withdrew her gaze and walked ahead. Ning Jing immediately emerged from behind Ning Chen and happily joined Yun Shunian. Ning Chen looked up, then followed with a few quick steps.
Yun Shunian took Ning Jing to the largest restaurant near the capital, Hanting Mansion.
"Sister, this fish is delicious, you should try some too." Ning Jing used a serving chopstick to place a large piece of fish into Yun Shunian's mouth.
Yun Shunian picked it up with her own chopsticks and put it in her mouth, then smiled and gave Ning Jing a big thumbs-up. Ning Jing also smiled, then placed another piece of fish into Yun Shunian's bowl, before continuing to try other dishes.
Yun Shunian's eyes were fixed on Ning Chen and Ning Jing, seemingly uninterested in the food. Ning Chen was constantly helping Ning Jing peel shrimp, while Ning Jing's eyes were filled with the seemingly delicious dishes. Watching the two of them, Yun Shunian's eyes sparkled, and she excitedly exclaimed inwardly, "They're so cute together! They're so cute together!" Although they were siblings, Yun Shunian, influenced by various dating shows, felt they were a perfect couple. Such sweet energy! Yun Shunian took a deep breath and then happily ate her food.
Meanwhile, at the entrance of Hanting Mansion. Mu Qi, surrounded by a group of people, entered Hanting Mansion.
"Mr. Mu. Come, come, please come in." A middle-aged man with a round head, bald and with a beer belly, obsequiously opened the door for Mu Qi, bowing slightly.
Mu Qi walked in without a glance at the man, Shan Gong following closely behind. "Mr. Mu, our private room is this way." The middle-aged man hurried a few steps forward, pointing the way for Mu Qi.
However, Mu Qi did not look in the direction the man was pointing, but instead looked across to the opposite private room.
"Young Master." Shan Gong, seeing Mu Qi frozen in place, staring directly at the door of Yun Shunian's private room, whispered into Mu Qi's ear.
Mu Qi's gaze flickered, and after a few seconds, he still walked in the direction indicated by the middle-aged man. The man's smiling face stiffened. But seeing Mu Qi walking towards him, he forced a smile. After Mu Qi entered, the man's lips relaxed. He then took a silk handkerchief from his pocket and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
After entering the private room, Mu Qi sat in the seat closest to the door, ignoring the main seat that everyone had pulled out for him. "Mu Qi, what would you like to eat?" The round-headed man handed Mu Qi the menu. Before Mu Qi could speak, Shan Gong took the menu from the man's hand and selected a few dishes that were good for the stomach.
"Ahem, Mr. Mu, are you interested in our property in that area?" the man said, looking to his companions to see if they were acting, and then patted his own belly. The assistant standing beside him in a suit took out a file from his briefcase. "This is a market assessment of the property done by our subordinates. Mr. Mu, please take a look." The round-headed man, who seemed to be some kind of boss, stood up and held the file in front of Mu Qi with both hands.
One second, two seconds, three seconds... Mu Qi kept his gaze lowered, staring blankly ahead, completely ignoring the man. After about a minute, the man, sweating profusely, finally couldn't hold on and gently sat back down, recalling his excitement an hour ago. He was in his office, soaking his feet and secretly watching the TV drama "People Falling in Love." The assistant said that Mu Corporation was interested in the property they were selling. What was that! Suddenly, the man felt a gust of wind brush past his smooth head. When he instinctively looked up, Mu Qi was no longer in his seat.
"Excuse me, everyone, please wait a moment." Shan Gong quickly said this and hurried after Mu Qi.
"Young Master." Shan Gong saw Mu Qi standing by the door of Yun Shunian's private room, seeming neither to want to go in nor to leave. He couldn't help but speak. Mu Qi frowned slightly, and Shan Gong immediately fell silent.
"Young Master, why don't we go inside and find Madam?" Shan Gong hadn't heard Yun Shunian come out, so he was sure she was still inside.
"Absolutely not." Mu Qi stood in place, his eyes fixed on the door in front of him. Hearing Mu Qi's refusal, Shan Gong kept quiet and stood silently behind Mu Qi.
A quarter of an hour later, the door that Mu Qi was staring at finally opened. Then there was silence. When Mu Qi saw Yun Shunian, his phoenix-like eyes lit up, but quickly dimmed. "I'm here to discuss some business with someone." As if guilty, Mu Qi finally spoke first. Shan Gong, standing behind Mu Qi, felt for the first time that his young master was very careless.
After Mu Qi spoke, Yun Shunian seemed to react, and rushed towards Mu Qi, wrapping her arms around the back of his neck. "You're so annoying, I thought you came specifically to pick me up?" Yun Shunian nuzzled into Mu Qi's neck. Mu Qi's throat bobbed, his tensed muscles gradually relaxed, and his sharp gaze turned to Ning Chen. Ning Chen stood quietly beside Ning Jing, unaffected by Mu Qi's gaze. Ning Jing, however, looking at Yun Shunian's current娇嗔 (charming and coquettish) demeanor and recalling her dignified appearance earlier, sighed with emotion. But, "Discussing business here?" Ning Jing, remembering Mu Qi standing at the door as soon as it opened, looked utterly disbelieving.
"Niannian, let's go home." Mu Qi's speaking speed was much faster now.
"Going home now? Don't you have business to discuss?" Yun Shunian lifted her head from Mu Qi's neck and looked at him questioningly.
"We'll discuss it tomorrow. Let's go home now." Mu Qi grabbed Yun Shunian's hand and started to walk out.
"No!" Yun Shunian tugged her wrist back, which Mu Qi was holding.
