Chapter 487 Great Brahma

Great Brahma.

Golden clouds drifted, incense curled, wisps of golden light shot straight into the sky.

Floating mountain peaks stood amidst the clouds.

Upon the floating islands, scriptures were recited, infused with Buddhistic nature, like clouds drifting in the air, creating a magnificent spectacle.

The largest of these floating islands was named Sumeru Mountain.

This was the abode of the Immortal Buddha, the ruler of this realm, and its center.

At this moment.

A flicker of golden light appeared on the throne, which had been empty for ten thousand years. The golden light quickly gathered into a human form, ultimately forming a towering Buddha silhouette.

This Buddha, aside from his curly hair, bore no significant difference in form from ordinary beings.

However, to display his majesty, the Immortal Buddha was colossal, towering over ten thousand meters.

As soon as he appeared, the Bodhisattvas and Arhats awoke in their respective dojos, their gazes piercing through the void towards this direction.

The next moment, the Immortal Buddha's voice resounded in all directions.

"All Bodhisattvas, all Arhats, return to your positions swiftly!"

Great Power Bodhisattva was engaged in a contest of strength when he heard the Immortal Buddha's summons. His expression sobered, and he quickly said,

"My Buddha calls me. I shall return, and this contest ends here for today."

With that, he rose and flew towards Sumeru Mountain.

Along the way, he saw many Bodhisattvas and Arhats, all flying towards Sumeru Mountain just like him.

Their numbers were vast, reaching thousands.

If outsiders were to witness this scene, they would undoubtedly be astonished, for each of these Arhats and Bodhisattvas was a Main God realm existence.

If one were to count the divine beasts, attendants, and guardians of Great Brahma, there might have been over ten thousand Main God-level beings.

If Lin Yu saw this, he would certainly be surprised.

After all, his million-level combined clone only numbered over two hundred.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!!!

Lights flashed as Bodhisattvas and Arhats landed in their designated spots, some meditating, others standing, all looking uniformly towards the Buddha.

The Immortal Buddha was tall, ten thousand meters high, and even without speaking, he exuded immense pressure.

The Bodhisattvas and Arhats finally returned to their positions, bowing their heads slightly in reverence.

"My Buddha, please instruct us!"

"Do you all know why I have summoned you?"

Upon hearing this, the Bodhisattvas and Arhats fell into contemplation, their thoughts varied.

Great Power Bodhisattva said, "I sense the Buddha's son has perished. Is my Buddha summoning us for the matter of the Buddha's son?"

As his words fell, the Bodhisattvas and Arhats also used their divine powers to sense the location of the Buddha's son. However, the result was unexpected; the information they received was that the heavenly secrets were in chaos, making deduction impossible.

However, it was normal for the heavenly secrets to be in chaos considering the Buddha's son had gone to that newly transformed world.

Great Power Bodhisattva's words stunned the other Bodhisattvas and Arhats.

The Buddha's son is dead?

This was impossible, wasn't it?

After all, within this Great Brahma, besides the Immortal Buddha, the Buddha's son commanded all Bodhisattvas and Arhats. His fruit position was between that of a Buddha and a Bodhisattva, making his strength naturally greater than that of any Bodhisattva.

Yet, such a being, who should have been unrivaled in the Main God realm, had died in another world. This was too unexpected and caused them to frown incessantly.

It was no wonder the Immortal Buddha had summoned them, for the Buddha's son was the future Buddha, the next Buddha cultivated by the Immortal Buddha.

Now, countless years of cultivation had turned to naught, and even the Buddha felt a surge of anger in his heart.

The Immortal Buddha spoke, his expression unreadable, his calm voice imbued with authority.

"The Buddha's son died in another world, all is the work of destiny. There is no need for you to worry, nor to seek revenge!"

This statement caused all the Bodhisattvas and Arhats to tremble slightly, marveling at the Immortal Buddha's profound Buddhist teachings. Even though the Buddha's son was killed, he remained so calm and admonished them against unnecessary killing.

"My Buddha is merciful!" the Bodhisattvas and Arhats cried out in unison.

"However—"

The Immortal Buddha's tone shifted slightly as he said, "The Buddha's son met his end in a foreign land, his remains cannot be left scattered. We should welcome back the Buddha's son's relics and enshrine them within the Glazed Pagoda, so that the departed soul may find peace!"

So that's what this was all about!

Killing could not be openly declared, so they took this roundabout way.

All the Bodhisattvas and Arhats were astute individuals. They understood the Immortal Buddha's meaning after a moment's thought.

They all bowed in unison and exclaimed loudly, "My Buddha's merciful heart is as evident as the sun and moon!"

"My Buddha is so merciful, fate is truly audacious to have caused the Buddha's son's demise!"

"My Buddha must be envied by fate, which caused the Buddha's son's death!"

"The one who killed the Buddha's son must be a pawn of fate. My Buddha never bows to fate, and such a pawn, I will personally eliminate."

"My Buddha, I am willing to go as well~"

"......."

The Immortal Buddha's words about retrieving the Buddha's son's relics caused righteous indignation to flare up among the Bodhisattvas and Arhats present.

The Immortal Buddha had said not to engage in unnecessary killing, but they all understood his underlying meaning.

This was the time for them, the subordinates, to speak. The Buddha was merciful, but they did not have to be.

They had not yet achieved Buddhahood and were not awakened beings, so they did not have to maintain composure with every word like the Buddha. Especially the Arhats, who held the lowest positions and were the most hot-tempered.

The Immortal Buddha nodded. Although his face remained calm and expressionless, his slightly bowed head revealed his inner feelings.

"All Bodhisattvas and Arhats, your sentiment fills my heart with joy. Since this is the case, Great Power Bodhisattva, you shall lead three hundred Arhats to retrieve the Buddha's son's relics!"

Great Power Bodhisattva exclaimed with joy, "I respectfully obey my Buddha's decree!"

"Vajra Hand Bodhisattva, you shall also lead three hundred Arhats!"

Vajra Hand Bodhisattva held a vajra scepter and was often by the Buddha's side. He was named Vajra Hand Bodhisattva because he wielded a vajra scepter, possessing great divine power to eradicate evil and subdue demons.

Upon hearing this, he bowed and accepted the order, "I respectfully obey my Buddha's decree!"

"Space Treasury Bodhisattva, you shall also go."

This Bodhisattva's name signified that the treasure of virtue was as boundless as empty space.

In the Garbhadhatu Mandala, Space Treasury Bodhisattva was the principal deity of the Space Treasury Court.

This Bodhisattva was entirely golden, with a dignified appearance. He wore a Five Buddha Crown and sat in half-lotus posture upon a lotus flower. His countenance was beautiful and joyous. In his left hand, he held a white lotus flower, upon which rested a wish-fulfilling jewel radiating yellow light. His right hand formed a boon-granting mudra: his fingers drooped downwards, palm facing outwards.

He was most skilled in spatial divine abilities and possessed the power to create realms.

"I respectfully obey my Buddha's decree!"

The Immortal Buddha then said, "Upon your arrival at Blue Star, do not return hastily. I have heard that the Great Luo Heaven has also gone to Blue Star. Although there are many rifts between our Buddhist and Daoist paths, do not engage in conflict with them. When you arrive, you must be cautious in your words and actions, and proceed with discretion."

Great Power Bodhisattva, Vajra Hand Bodhisattva, and Space Treasury Bodhisattva all nodded, saying, "We respectfully obey my Buddha's teachings."

After reiterating his instructions several times, the Immortal Buddha announced the end of the assembly, thus concluding this grand meeting.

The three great Bodhisattvas each led three hundred Arhats and departed towards Blue Star.

...........

Blue Star.

Inside Lin Yu's mansion.

He took out a skill crystal and placed it in his palm.

This was dropped by the Buddha's son and was sent to him by a clone, only now reaching his hand.

As usual, he placed it against his forehead.

The next moment, a massive flow of information surged into his mind.

Rebirth: Main God Skill. The myriad realms speak of reincarnation, the cycle of life and death. This is the skill of Rebirth, capable of sending souls to the Netherworld and the Underworld, entering the place of reincarnation for rebirth.

This was an auxiliary Main God skill. Most souls dissipate after death, but some souls wander between heaven and earth, becoming ghosts. 138 Reading Network

The function of this skill was to send souls to the Underworld.

"Does Blue Star have an Underworld?" Lin Yu wondered, "Will this skill be useless?"
