Bai Yi Shu Sheng

Chapter 176

Qin Xuan questioned the hotel staff exhaustively but found no trace of Qin Lin. He knew the girl might be in trouble.

He proceeded to the hotel's security room and, reviewing the surveillance footage, discovered that Qin Lin had been taken away by a person with an unusual appearance.

Tantai Yue and Leng Xi, arriving shortly after, noticed Qin Xuan's troubled expression and immediately asked,

"Qin Xuan, what's wrong?"

Qin Xuan's face darkened further. He looked at the two entering and said with a frown,

"Linlin has been captured."

"What!" Tantai Yue and Leng Xi exclaimed, their eyebrows shooting up.

With Jin Shikai dead and no news of Li Shengtian, who was likely in hiding due to the manhunt for him, the possibility of him kidnapping Qin Lin seemed remote. Qin Xuan couldn't think of anyone else.

Leng Xi's cold eyes flickered. Suddenly, she spoke,

"Could it be Jin Gong?"

A glint of light flashed in Qin Xuan's eyes.

He had completely forgotten about him.

Having killed his son, Jin Gong would surely not let this matter rest.

Therefore, it was highly probable that he was the one who had abducted Qin Lin.

"Leng Xi, do you know where to find Jin Gong?" Qin Xuan's gaze turned to Leng Xi.

Leng Xi pondered for a moment and then replied,

"If I'm not mistaken, he might be at the Jin family's old ancestral home."

"Alright," Qin Xuan said to Tantai Yue, "Tantai, you go back and wait for us. Leng Xi and I are going to the Jin family's old ancestral home to rescue Linlin."

Tantai Yue knew she couldn't be of much help at this moment and that her role was to avoid being a burden to Qin Xuan.

She nodded and said,

"Qin Xuan, please be careful."

"En, let's go, Leng Xi."

The two stormed out of the surveillance room.

Qin Xuan had no time to drive or hail a taxi.

As soon as they were outside, he directly put his arm around Leng Xi's waist and leaped onto a tall building. They landed on a rooftop, then leaped to another building.

The cold wind whipped past Leng Xi's face. She looked down at the street below and swallowed, finding it a little too high.

Although she was a congenital martial artist, she couldn't glide through the air like this.

Leng Xi turned her head, her cold eyes meeting Qin Xuan's face. A hint of something different flickered in her gaze – shock and admiration.

To be able to do this, one would likely need to be at least a Grandmaster realm expert.

For Qin Xuan to reach such a level at such a young age, he might be the youngest Grandmaster in Long Country.

Qin Xuan, with Leng Xi in his embrace, continuously leaped between buildings.

Following Leng Xi's directions, they reached a shantytown about half an hour later.

Qin Xuan found a spacious area and landed.

As soon as they touched down, Leng Xi patted her chest.

She had been gliding through the air for a full thirty minutes, and even as a martial artist, it was a bit taxing.

Seeing Leng Xi's long legs trembling slightly, Qin Xuan summoned a wisp of Dragon Power and placed it on his palm, then on her shoulder.

The Dragon Power instantly surged through Leng Xi's entire body, a warm sensation spreading throughout her. All previous discomfort vanished.

"Are you alright now?" Qin Xuan asked.

"En, I'm fine. The Jin family's ancestral home is just ahead," Leng Xi replied, pointing to an old, rather opulent ancestral house not far away.

Amongst the entire shantytown, the Jin family's ancestral home stood out.

Surrounded by ordinary, low-rise shacks, the Jin family's ancestral home was a five-story old villa.

"Be careful. It's too quiet around here," Qin Xuan said, surveying the surroundings.

While shantytowns were not as noisy as city streets, they were also not this eerily silent.

Leng Xi nodded and followed behind Qin Xuan.

They reached the grand entrance of the Jin family's ancestral home. As the courtyard gate was unlocked, they walked in directly.

Suddenly, Qin Xuan stopped. Leng Xi, who was looking around, couldn't stop in time and bumped into Qin Xuan's back.

"Why did you stop?" Leng Xi rubbed her slightly sore nose, her tone carrying a hint of accusation.

If he was going to stop, he should have given a heads-up, saving her a bump.

Qin Xuan sniffed the air a few times and said to Leng Xi behind him,

"Don't you smell anything?"

"Smell?" Leng Xi sniffed the air as well, then shook her head.

"I don't smell anything."

"Something's wrong. Retreat!" Qin Xuan's senses were far superior to Leng Xi's. He could detect even the faintest unusual scent in the air, and he quickly grabbed Leng Xi's arm and retreated to the doorway.

However, due to her high heels, Leng Xi almost twisted her ankle.

Qin Xuan glanced at her feet and said,

"Take off your shoes. You're wearing high heels, which will hinder your actions later."

Leng Xi understood and didn't hesitate. She kicked off her high heels, her bare feet touching the cold ground. Despite wearing stockings, a chill seeped up from the soles of her feet.
