Chapter 52 Early to Bed and Early to Rise for Physical Training

The children were incredibly helpful, each dragging a large sack.

It had rained heavily two days prior.

Many mushrooms had sprouted in the forest, their colors still vibrant.

Cheng Xiaotian, pulling his sack, turned back to tell his younger siblings to be careful, "Don't just pick mushrooms because their colors are pretty, they can be poisonous. I heard from my classmates that the brighter the color, the more poisonous they are."

He spoke with a small voice, but his words often carried a mature tone.

The little ones, who always followed his lead, obediently nodded, like little chicks pecking rice, promising not to pick mushrooms randomly.

Su Miaomiao, holding Cheng Hao's hand, was on her way to check her traps when she happened to pass by. Seeing the group of children, she found them amusing and started singing, "Red umbrella, white stem, lie down together after eating ~"

"Oh, lie down, cover with a coffin, then bury together in the mountain, bury in the mountain, then cry loudly, relatives and friends come to eat, oh eat, have umbrellas, the whole village lies down together, hahahahahaha."

Her off-key ditty startled the children into wide-eyed silence.

Cheng Hao smiled helplessly and said to the children, "Don't pay attention to her. You gather yours, just be careful, don't eat anything randomly."

The children nodded frantically, their mouths shut. They knew this handsome young man was the legitimate young master of the Cheng family. Although distantly related to them, the lineage was so far removed it was practically nonexistent. They still dared not presume to call him "brother" and were afraid to speak to him.

Not to mention the beautiful and flamboyant young mistress who left a trail of silver-bell laughter when she was pulled away. The children absolutely dared not look at her too much.

After the young couple left.

Cheng Xiaotian scratched his head and said, "Although she doesn't sing well, her words are true. If you eat these mushrooms poorly, you'll end up lying down and covered by a coffin!"

His younger sister, Cheng Xiaohua, had already been brainwashed and was humming "red umbrella, white stem..."

She swayed her head.

The other children looked at each other and then burst into laughter, giggling uncontrollably.

This added a touch of joy to their somber escape.

The adults nearby, who were logging, couldn't help but chuckle upon hearing this. Wasn't this what it was all about? Survival, children, continuing the lineage.

Married people thought of children, unmarried people thought of future children.

For a better life.

Everyone had to overcome the immediate difficulties first, so they gritted their teeth and worked hard!

On the other side.

Su Miaomiao had successfully caught two wild rabbits and a plump bamboo rat again.

Cheng Hao helped her tie them to a wooden stick, which he then shouldered to carry.

He looked quite pleased with himself.

Su Miaomiao had finally stretched her limbs. Seeing that the sky was still early and breakfast was not yet ready, she turned to Cheng Hao and raised her eyebrows meaningfully.

"How about it? Want to come?"

As she spoke,

She even hung the prey on the branches of a nearby tree, letting them dangle.

They had only recently died and were still warm.

They could be brought back later.

Cheng Hao surveyed the surroundings. The trees were spaced well, and there were hanging vines.

It was indeed a good spot.

But his current body probably couldn't keep up... yet his childhood sweetheart really wanted to.

"Sigh, alright, let's go then,"

Cheng Hao resignedly said, and then began to prepare by stretching.

Not far away, Li Datou, pressed against a tree, had just found a good spot. Thinking this tree was excellent, he was contemplating which direction to cut it down.

He then overheard this conversation, which made his face burn with embarrassment. He wanted to leave but also stay. He thought, was this newly married young mistress so bold? Dare she be so forthright in broad daylight? Even forcing their proper young master to comply, which made him feel a tickle of curiosity. After struggling with his indecision, he peeked out and saw the two of them doing strange movements alone.

Twisting their necks, then bending their waists, twisting their hips, and stretching their legs.

Li Datou was utterly confused.

This didn't look like "that," but rather like preparing for a fight? Why were they doing this?

He was still wondering.

Then his eyes widened like bronze bells. Reflected in his pupils was Su Miaomiao swiftly climbing a tree, and within a few movements, she disappeared from sight. She climbed trees, both uneven and at varying distances, as if playing.

Although it wasn't the first time he had seen it, each time he witnessed her agile movements, he was amazed. Even more shocking was that his young master had somehow begun to follow her. Though slower than her, he was still quite nimble.

His agility was not bad either?

Cheng Hao ran and climbed. This body was purely scholarly, completely untrained. To achieve this much, he had already done his best.

But he was gritting his teeth and persevering. If he couldn't do it now, he would train!

He could start from scratch before, and he could start over now.

With dangers lurking everywhere, having a good physique was of utmost importance.

Thinking of this,

Cheng Hao could also grit his teeth and work hard to catch up to the blur in front of him. Someone had disappeared again.

He sighed with practiced weariness.

Meanwhile, in the distance.

Su Miaomiao's figure moved through the forest like a little leopard cat, unrestrained and free.

She rapidly activated her senses.

She actually discovered what it felt like when pushed to her limits?

Even the fastest speeds seemed like slow motion to her. Every blade of grass and tree beside her escaped her notice. If she concentrated, she could even hear Cheng Hao's panting nearby. She moved her ears again and could faintly hear the sounds of Cheng Dazhuang and the others logging. It was truly wondrous.

Su Miaomiao couldn't help but curve her lips into a bold smile, feeling that heaven had not treated her unfairly! Although she didn't have Cheng Hao's spatial cheat, she had been given enhanced physique and senses. This was like a tiger with wings for her!

It felt so exhilarating!

She sped around and came back. While still panting, she also brought back some miscellaneous mountain goods, all strung together with a thin vine. Her face was full of smiles, clearly having had a great time.

Cheng Hao, however, was in a sorry state, his forehead covered in sweat, panting, a vivid and lively scene. (Not really.)

Su Miaomiao chuckled and walked towards him, like a cat that had played enough and was finally returning to coax its owner. She stuck close to him and shared her new experiences.

Cheng Hao was too tired to scold her. He could only lean on her shoulder and slowly say, "Phew, no, this body is really terrible. It'll take at least a month or two to recover..."

Su Miaomiao, on the other hand, greatly enjoyed his rare need to rely on her. She happily nodded in strong agreement to everything he said.

Her breathing also stabilized quickly, returning to normal in no time.

Cheng Hao was somewhat envious.

He waved his hand.

Indicating the training was over.

Let's go back, let's go back.

Then he intended to retrieve the prey from the branches beside him, but Su Miaomiao beat him to it. Holding the prey, she came over and used him as a crutch.

Cheng Hao didn't refuse, and simply put his arm around her as they walked a few steps. Of course, the weight couldn't all fall on her. It was just taking advantage of her rare thoughtfulness and closeness. After all, he wanted to be close to her all the time.

Heh.

Just the usual antics of a young couple.
