Chapter 566 - 480 Fierce Battle to the Death!

Chapter 566: 480 Fierce Battle to the Death!

For the fairies of Salisbury, today was undeniably their day of disaster.

Initially, many fairies, with an attitude of watching excitement unfold, witnessed the upheaval, believing that what was happening before their eyes was not something to be afraid of but a rare festival in ordinary life.

As a result, quite a few fairies were thrilled, quite a few felt joy, and many hoped for even more chaos, more excitement; wouldn’t that be even more wonderful?

However, as time passed and the situation developed, these thrill-seeking fairies were all terrified. They wished they could sprout wings and immediately fly away from this place, from this city.

How could they have imagined that a fight among just a few people could become so intense?

During the battle of those few, Salisbury underwent countless earthquakes and destruction.

Sometimes meteorites fell, destroying parts of the city.

Sometimes a crimson storm swept through, erasing parts of the city.

Sometimes there were massive explosions that sent shockwaves throughout the city.

Sometimes walls of the city collapsed, causing Salisbury to lose a corner directly.

Buildings were destroyed beyond count.

The streets were cracked beyond measure.

This was a true natural disaster, an ordeal capable of sweeping through the entire city.

Thanks to this, those fairies who loved to watch the spectacle and those who thrived in chaos, because they had not taken refuge in time, had suffered tremendously; some were seriously injured, others lost their precious lives.

Now, Salisbury was hell, a space filled with screams of torment.

Even the fairies who survived were worried, anxious about when the building they were hiding in would collapse or the whole district would be destroyed, causing them to be impacted.

At this stage, these fairies began to truly feel afraid.

"Why is this happening?"

"Why must I endure all this?"

"The ’tax’ I pay to the queen is already deadly enough; I barely made it through. Why do I still have to face such a disaster?"

"Could this really be the ’catastrophe’ mentioned in the prophecies?"

"Lady Aurora! Please save us!"

Salisbury had fallen into a hell where such cries were everywhere, too painful to behold.

Of course, only they know how many were initially pleased by the situation.

"Lady Aurora, please go to a safe place at once and don’t stay in such a dangerous place anymore."

In the Grand Sanctuary’s lord’s room, a fairy with butterfly wings advised the leader of the Wind Clan, occasionally glancing at the ceiling as if worried it might collapse any second.

"I’m fine, Koral," Aurora stood by the window, looking towards the direction of the collapsing walls, and after a while, spoke in a gentle voice to the advising fairy, "Has everyone taken refuge?"

"...Only the fairies and humans who initially agreed to disperse at the guards’ urging and followed the guards have successfully found refuge," Koral lowered her head and responded, "Most of the others refused to be dispersed and are now too late to arrange for their evacuation."

"Is that so?" Aurora lowered her eyelids, seeming pained, "I wish I had been more assertive so they might have followed the instructions to take refuge."

"It’s not Lady Aurora’s fault!" Koral hastily said, "It’s those low-level fairies who wouldn’t follow your instructions! They deserve it!"

"Thank you for saying that, Koral. You’re so kind." Aurora turned around, smiled at Koral, and said, "Anyway, let the guards do their best to evacuate the townspeople. We should save as many as we can."

"What about you?" Koral continued to advise, saying, "Please evacuate with the others. Staying here further could mean getting caught in the path of those monsters."

"Oh, you shouldn’t say that." Aurora gently chided, "There are still our comrades and that child out there. She will definitely not let me get hurt. I trust her."

"Go on then, if necessary, I will leave immediately."

Urged by Aurora, Koral, though reluctant, had no choice but to leave.

Of course, she wouldn’t abandon Lady Aurora and leave alone; after relay commands, she would return immediately. If necessary, she would shield Aurora with her own body during this disaster.

As Koral left with this resolve, she didn’t notice that as soon as she left, Aurora’s smile began to fade.

"The child of prophecy... huh?"

Aurora looked outside again and murmured as if dreaming.

"If you really could defeat the queen then I..."

The rest of her words were too soft to be heard clearly.

But Aurora certainly remained there, never leaving until the end.

...

Meanwhile, in a corner of the city, Altoria peeked out from a secluded alley, looking towards the direction where the walls had collapsed, her face filled with uncontrollable concern.
