Chapter 127: Baby Names 1
Eliàn;
The warm sun kisses the back of my neck as I stroll down the street, and I take a deep breath as I relish the feeling.
This place is a warm contrast to the freezing place called Howleroot. It’s always so cold there. Like their Queen...
A woman bows softly to me and I smile warmly at her as I bow back. She giggles as she wasn’t expecting me to, and my smile grows.
I’m not royalty. So of course I’ll bow right back to anyone who bows to me. I stuff my hands deeper into the pockets of my pants enjoying my stroll.
I was going to wear my Krompa again, but if I wore it, everyone would be able to see that I’m injured and then I’m more than certain that they would scoop me up and return me to that boring hut.
To avoid that, I decided to put on my usual shirt and pants. Besides, I can bearly even feel the wound. It’s odd, I know... but it’s just a dull ache.
"Do you have a death wish?" Elien’s voice suddenly echoes in my mind, crashing into the peaceful silence it once had, and I shut my eyes.
Hearing his voice out of the blue is going to take some getting used to.
"No, I do not. Why are you threatening me?" I question in my mind as I try not to make it obvious that I’m talking to a voice in my head, and a young man waves at me. I smile and wave back, and Elien replies.
"The only threat to you right now, is you. Who the hell gets out of bed the same day they got a surgery and that too just to see someone else’s baby!??" He scolds, and I roll my eyes.
"You..." I begin, but stop when I realise that I just spoke out loud.
The little girl passing by gives me a weird look, and I force a smile at her before continuing my way.
"Stop saying it like that. I was bored. Besides... the wound doesn’t even hurt. It almost feels like nothing happened to me." I reply honestly, and I hear Elien groan.
"Yeah? Wait for the relaxants to wear out." He says and my brows crease.
"Relaxants?"
"You think it’s magic that you can’t feel shit right now? Queen Cassia must have knocked you out with some very powerful relaxants. When it wears off, then you’ll pay the price for this stupidity, and I’m going to have to suffer with you!!" He rants and I roll my eyes again.
"We’ll deal with that then. Weren’t you dying of boredom on that bed? I just want something to do and the only thing that came to mind was seeing the baby again." I pout, and he hisses in annoyance.
"Elián, the baby wouldn’t have sprouted wings or grown bigger since yesterday. This risk isn’t worth taking. What if Koda finds out?" He scolds and immediately, I stop walking.
"Okay. I didn’t think about that last part." I confess as I stare at the door to Seun and Kishan’s hut which is right in front of me now.
"You didn’t think about any part, dummy!" Elien scolds and I pout.
"You know, you’re being mean when we’re literally the same person!" I scold and he chuckles in my head.
"Oh, no. This Primordial madness may have us wrapped up in some crazy mess, but we’re definitely not the same. I, unlike you, think before acting." He replies and I gasp at the insult.
"You..." I begin, but I’m cut off when the door before me suddenly opens, and Kishan steps out with a basket of clothes in his hands.
He looks up and freezes when he sees me. Almost like I startled him.
"Master Elián?" He calls in surprise and I smile sheepishly at him.
"What brings you here this morning?" He adds, and I swallow.
Of course, my dumb ass didn’t think of what answer to give if I was asked this question.
"Surprise. Surprise." Elien mocks and I ignore him. Pushing his voice to the back of my mind.
"H-hi, Kishan. I erm... I was passing by, and I... and I thought to... stop by and say hello to Seun and the baby." I reply and Kishan tilts his head a bit as he stares at me.
Oh, no. Does he think I’m being intrusive?? Oh, goodness, I am!!
His Omega just gave birth and I keep showing up like I’m the secret Father of his baby.
"It...It’s totally okay if they can’t take visitors right now, I can always come back another day." I quickly add and Kishan waves his hand dismissively.
"Oh, no. No, it’s not a problem. I’m glad you deemed us worthy of your presence today. Just... give me a second to inform Seun that we have a guest." He replies and I nod with a massive, happy grin.
"Sure. Sure..." I reply with a small chuckle, and he smiles at me.
"Alright. I’ll be right back." He notes as he drops the basket of clothes outside and heads back in.
"Very soon, you’re going to ask them if you canadopt the baby." Elien’s voice comes back to mock me the moment we’re alone, and I groan in annoyance.
"Are you always this talkative!?" I demand in annoyance, not minding that I spoke out loud cause there’s no one in sight.
"No. But when I’m stuck with an idiot who just might want to adopt a baby, yes. Then, I am talkative." He replies and I sigh in frustration.
"I’m not going to adopt a baby. We’ll get our own..." I reply, and there’s silence for a few seconds.
"Hold your horses for a minute. Who’s we!? Are you serious about getting pregnant?" He suddenly screams in my head and I groan as his voice resonates through my mind.
"You little shit! There are two of us in here have you forgotten!? I don’t want to carry a baby! We’ll get fat and slow, and saggy, and our back will ache, we’ll have to pee every second, crave everything but have zero appetite... It’s chaos. For nine whole months!!" He rants and I shake my head at how dramatic he’s being.
"But the result is worth it,"
I note."Yeah. An adorable pooping and barfing machine. It’s definitely worth it. How could I not see that?" He replies sarcastically and I can’t help my smile.
"We can get Koda to clean up the baby’s messes," I reply, and he falls silent.
"Okay... that kind of seems worth it. Turning and Alpha to a designated dipper changer. I wanna see that." He replies and my smile grows.
The door opens again and I quickly wipe my smile off as Kishan holds the door open for me.
"Come in." He says, and I nod stiffly before making my way into the hut.
Seun is still on his bed and my heart instantly aches for him. How has he survived being on that bed since yesterday??
I couldn’t even stay in mine for a few hours!!
He looks up at me, and his eyes light up.
"Master Elián! It’s so good to see you again! Good morning." He greets, and his receptive energy causes a smile to split my face.
"You said you were bored earlier. Looks like the goddess answered your prayers." Kishan says from behind me, and I turn back to look at him.
"Do you know... you’re the only person he’s comfortable with being in here since the baby arrived," Kishan says and my heart skips a beat.
I look back at Seun and he’s smiling massively at me.
"He’s turned away every single guest until now," Kishan adds, and Seun shyly looks away.
"The baby likes you, and you seem to carry this soothing aura with you. I like your company." He defends himself, and I smile.
"Alright. I’ll be right outside. I have to do the laundry in time so I can get to making lunch." Kishan then says and Seun looks up at him.
"Okay, honey. Thank you..." He replies and I smile at how sweet they both are.
I walk over to the bed and sit on the chair beside it.
I stare about though and pause when I don’t see the baby.
"Where’s..." I begin, but Seun is ahead of me.
"He’s right here. He needs body warmth but the weather is too hot, and leaving him without clothes on might be too cold." He replies as he pulls back the blanket and spot the little baby lying flat against Seun’s chest in Nothibg but a diaper.
I smile as I stare at the tiny baby. At his fisted little fingers...pale little lips, and shut eyes.
"Okay... I’ll admit. He is adorable." Elien whispers in my mind and I smile at his surrender.
"I’ve figured out a name for him." Seun suddenly says, and I look up at him.
"You have? What is it?" I question in excitement and Seun looks at me with pride burining in his eyes.
"Carbon Copy." He replies, and my smile drops.
Huh!?
