Chapter 68: Bram

Chapter 68: Bram

Rhydian;

Some people are cold inside. They hardly show emotions and seem like they can not connect with anyone or anything. But in truth, they have one of the biggest hearts and that reputation is just an act they put up to protect themselves.

That’s Father.

Not my Mother.

Mom is cruel. She’s vicious. She’s everything she presents herself to be and much worse.

I would know. I grew till I was a teenager with her before moving to the Ashfang estate to be with Father and the rest of my brothers.

My mother isn’t someone to be trifled with, and as shameful as it is to admit, she is the biggest terror in my life.

My greatest fear is the woman who gave birth to me.

And I don’t mean it in a funny, jovial way. No. I mean, this woman is a nightmare.

And that’s exactly why I fear her. She’ll stop at Nothing to get what she wants, and that makes me wonder what she could have possibly done this time.

I stand in front of my bedroom with my heart hammering furiously in my chest. There’s someone in it. I can smell them.

I gulp before reaching for the doorknob.

I twist it, but remain rooted to the spot as I search my system for the courage to go in.

Mother’s words replay in my mind, and it sends a feverish shiver down my spine.

"Bram has a healthy, working womb. Carrying your litter of pups wouldn’t be a problem."

What did she mean by that? How’s it possible for a male Alpha to get pregnant?? It’s never happened before. I don’t understand...

I push the door open, and the scent of the person inside wafts straight to my nostrils.

I shield my nose with my flexed arm as I walk in and shut the door behind me, and there, on my bed, is a blonde, green-eyed young man who looks oiled and scantily dressed.

He’s in a see-through white robe and is sitting on his calves with his arms on the bed, in front of him, and between his legs.

"Good afternoon, Alpha Rhydian." He greets me with a smile that looks too sweet to be pure.

"I’m Bram. I’m here to serve you and fulfil whatever desires you may have." He continues as he slutfully pulls at his robe to reveal one shoulder, and my skin crawls in disgust.

Why does he smell so... odd? He’s supposed to have Alpha pheromones that I should be able to sense... but I can’t smell that.

His pheromones smell mingled... with an Omega’s. What the fuck is going on here?

"Who asked you to get in my bed?" I demand, and his smile falters.

"Alpha Rhydian... I belong in your bed." He replies, and I almost gag at how forward he is.

He smiles at me again and disgust clothes me.

He blinks at me slowly as he bites his lip, and the sight almost causes my breakfast to travel back up my throat.

I don’t know what mother was thinking... I can’t do this. I won’t do it.

I don’t know who this... I’m not getting in bed with him.

"Aren’t you an Alpha?" I demand, and he blinks at me.

"Have you no shame? How could you agree to do this with another Alpha!?" I demand in pure confusion, and his expression falls as he looks away from me for the first time since I entered the room.

"I didn’t have a choice, Alpha. And... to you, I’m not an Alpha. I’m your pet. My only purpose is to carry your pup, Alpha Rhydian." He replies, and my brows knot.

"What do you mean you had no choice? Is my mother forcing you to do this?" I demand, and he looks back up at me.

There is silence for a few seconds, and then he finally forced a smile.

"Alpha Rhydian, that isn’t for us to worry about." He says, and I watch as he gets out of the bed and walks over to me.

He places a hand on my shoulder, and the other on my chest as he starts moving his hand down my bare torso.

"Let me... show you a good time, My Lord." He whispers in my ear, and the strongest wave of irritation I’ve ever felt in a long time swallows me.

I instinctively move away from him, as disgust claws at my throat.

He tries to move towards me, but I hold up a hand to stop him.

"Stay there!"

He blinks at me, and I struggle to breathe through his infuriating scent.

"By the time I get back, I want you out of this room, as well as your scent," I order, and his jaw drops.

I march towards the door, and just as my hand grabs the doorknob, he grabs my other arm.

"Alpha Rhydian, please. Just one night. I’ve sacrificed so much for this..." He begs, and I turn back to him in confusion.

Sacrifice?

I snatch my hand from his grip and open the door.

"Make sure the maids change my beddings as well," I order before storming out and slamming the door behind me.

I... I need to clear my head.

I should go and see Elián. I need to see him. Hopefully, he’s better now.

I... I need him.

...

I barge into Elian’s room, and Alana, who’s sitting in the corner reading a book, quickly stands up and bows to me.

"Has he woken up?" I question as I walk over to Elian’s bed, and Alana nods.

An act that causes my heart to jump.

"Why didn’t you inform me!?" I demand, and she steps forward.

"I was going to, but you were with Alpha Liandria at the time. And he was only conscious for a few seconds. He asked for water and went back to sleep." She informs, and I sit beside him as I stroke his hair.

"Okay. I’ll... I’ll sit here with him for a while in case he wakes up again." I inform, and she nods.

"Alright, Alpha. Is there anything you’d need me to get for you?" She replies, and I shake my head.

"No. You can leave. I’ll send for you if I need anything." I reply, and she nods.

She bows again before walking out of the room, and just as she shuts the door behind her, Elián moves.

He grabs my arm, and I freeze as he hugs it to his chest with his cheek pressed against my forearm.

I smile at him before gently letting myself down onto the bed beside him.

He looks so peaceful when he sleeps. I wish I could find such peace too...
