Chapter 888: Chapter 716: Liking You Since the First Glance 57
Bo Qin looked at her with an amused expression, "If you want to say thanks, it’s proper to show gratitude, but little girl, are you thanking the money in my wallet?"
All the credit goes to me, what’s it got to do with money?"
Unexpectedly, Bo Qin could joke too, and the atmosphere lightened significantly. Jian Dan happily ate her breakfast, feeling quite good the whole morning, "Then thank you, Uncle Qin, for helping me find Aunt Lin, such a wonderful nanny to take care of me all these years without ever complaining about hardship or fatigue."
Bo Qin chuckled, with such a high salary, she shouldn’t be complaining.
He was a businessman, and if it weren’t for compromising for Jian Dan’s sake, Aunt Lin indeed wouldn’t have taken this job.
But as years passed, he felt quite grateful for that decision back then.
Aunt Lin truly took excellent care of Jian Dan, extraordinarily well.
Aunt Lin got into the driver’s car, following Bo Qin’s car, and they accompanied Jian Dan all the way to the airport.
On the verge of parting, Bo Qin looked at the girl’s slightly gloomy face and smiled, "Next month, I’ll come to see you. If Aunt Lin has time, I might bring her along?"
Aunt Lin was surprised to hear this, and looked over, meeting Bo Qin’s gaze, feeling a bit incredulous, "Sir, is it true what you said? Can I really go with you to see the young lady?"
After spending so much time together, it would definitely be impossible to say there were no feelings involved.
Bo Qin nodded, "Yes, of course, if Aunt Lin has the time, she can come along anytime."
Aunt Lin nodded and stepped forward to hold Jian Dan’s hand, "Don’t worry, Aunt Lin will come to see you, definitely."
"Alright, Aunt Lin." Jian Dan opened her arms and hugged Aunt Lin, "I’ll be waiting for you in Athens."
Finally, she turned and also hugged Bo Qin, expressing her gratitude for all those years. Before, she didn’t dare, but now she’s free of concerns and embraced him as family.
"Uncle Qin, thank you for raising me all these years."
Bo Qin’s eyelid twitched hard, "You’re welcome."
As the plane soared into the sky, Bo Qin slowly walked out of the airport. He watched the plane flying high, calming his mind, seriously contemplating whether in all these years with Jian Dan, he really placed himself in the position he ought to be?
Or did he just think he put himself in the right position?
In actuality, he hadn’t.
Up front, Secretary Zhou was driving the car. Seeing him rubbing his tired temples, he casually asked, "Mr. Bo, are you heading to the company for a meeting or taking a rest now?"
Bo Qin’s gaze was cool, meeting his eyes in the rearview mirror, and Zhou Yao murmured, "I understand, Mr. Bo, don’t be angry."
When would their Mr. Bo ever choose rest over work, unless it was a choice between work and Jian Dan? Only at such times would work step back a little; otherwise, work was always the priority. What on earth was he thinking?
...
One year later.
"Uncle Qin, where are you now? I’ve already arrived at the airport."
Jian Dan stood at the arrival gate, looking around. Since turning eighteen, she seemed to grow more beautiful by the day, and she had grown a few centimeters taller too. Wearing a long trench coat and over-the-knee boots, she exuded an impressive aura. Bo Qin walked out of the arrival gate and saw Jian Dan with her back to him, her head turning in all directions. His thin lips curled into a charming arc as he smiled.
"I’m right behind you."
"What?" Jian Dan clutched the phone and turned to see Bo Qin standing not far behind her, looking travel-worn yet strikingly noticeable. He hung up the phone and walked towards Jian Dan step by step.
Jian Dan gripped her phone tightly, her face beaming with a smile, eyes filled with his reflection.
Originally, Jian Dan thought that after leaving the capital, she and Bo Qin would naturally grow apart, but the worst part was that the bond between them grew deeper.
In this past year, Bo Qin came here every half month, sometimes bringing along Aunt Lin to cook a delicious meal for her. All her classmates knew she had an unbelievably handsome uncle and a nanny whose cooking was exceptionally good.
Everyone envied her peaceful and leisurely life.
As for distancing herself from Bo Qin, initially feeling a sense of detachment, she’s now drawn closer. Jian Dan couldn’t explain exactly what happened in between, but she knew she enjoyed this closeness, at least it made her happy, and indeed, very happy.
Bo Qin stood next to her, looking down over her. She still wore that knitted hat from when she left, making her petite face look even smaller,
