Chapter 353: Chapter 352 She Likes Edward Stephens
Daisy Ginger was slightly taken aback by Charlotte Smith’s sudden outburst.
Then she curled her lips with a hint of mockery, "It seems you really like Edward Stephens."
Charlotte frowned slightly, seemingly realizing her own loss of control, and slowly pursed her lips.
"That’s right." Daisy leaned against the headboard, letting out a sneer, "You two are the real childhood sweethearts, growing up together from a young age, while I’m just the intruder."
"Miss Ginger," Charlotte’s voice was slightly hoarse, as if trying to regain her usual calm. She lowered her head, earnestly advising, "Edward truly loves you. Please try to understand him a bit. Over the years, I’ve never seen him act so impulsively over a woman. He truly likes you. Could you please look back at him?"
Daisy’s voice was cold, "In what capacity are you advising me?"
"I..."
"Don’t you find yourself hypocritical?" Daisy spoke bluntly, even cruelly, "You clearly can’t wait for me to leave, so why are you pretending to be a saint in front of me?"
"..."
"You people, you’re all lunatics." Daisy looked at her, sneering, "Each and every one of you is abnormal. I don’t want to be like you, I’m afraid of catching your bad habits, people like you seem contagious."
Charlotte deeply lowered her head in front of Daisy.
Her voice had returned to its usual gentleness.
"If Miss Ginger doesn’t want to see me, I’ll try to stay out of your sight in the future."
"Are you a robot? Don’t you have any of your own thoughts?" Daisy suddenly leaned close to her face, looking into her brown eyes, "You clearly hate me to the core, so why pretend to be considerate and kind to me? You want me out of the Stephens family, don’t you?" She chuckled softly, luring, "How about we make a deal? You get me discharged, and I’ll find a way to divorce Edward Stephens. You don’t want me to have this child, do you? Do you really want to see the person you love, tied to another woman for life?"
Her voice wasn’t as clear as a usual woman’s, and at this moment, when lowered, carried hints of seductive ambiguity, capable of engulfing one’s senses, making them unable to resist listening to her.
Charlotte wavered, instinctively reaching out to push Daisy away, retreating a few steps, lifting her eyes to see Daisy on the bed, giving her a cold smile.
She looked at her with a mix of mockery and amusement.
Not as an adversary in love, but at a woman flaunting bravado amidst her own disarray.
How hard it is for someone to hide their heart.
Robert Stephens knew she liked Edward Stephens, but didn’t care; Edward also knew she liked him, but still treated her like a servant.
The Stephens family, inheriting their cruelty, none cared for her heart.
So she truly regarded herself as a heartless puppet, wholeheartedly completing the tasks assigned to her by them.
But Daisy’s words, once again, stung her slightly.
Ever since being selected to be sent into the Stephens family, she had lost all sense of self; liking Edward Stephens was merely her own affair, as long as it didn’t hinder her usefulness, her feelings were left to overflow indifferently.
The things she never dared to wish for were easily obtained by Daisy, and then casually used by her to sow discord.
