Chapter 307: Give Us Justice

Chapter 307: Chapter 307: Give Us Justice

"Let’s go back to the ward! I need to go back and wait for Archie."

Ivy Bond, in high spirits, skipped her way to the second floor.

There’s a passageway on the second floor that leads to the inpatient department, so she wouldn’t have to walk outside, get sunburned, and turn dark. If she got tan, Archie wouldn’t like it.

People are always greedy.

Previously, she thought that as long as she could be with Cillian Xavier and become his bride, it wouldn’t matter even if she didn’t capture his heart, so she did her best to please his parents at the Xavier Family.

But once she actually got together with Cillian Xavier, she greedily wanted more.

She wanted to be the only one in Cillian Xavier’s world.

Now it seemed like she had succeeded.

Archie wasn’t ignoring her calls; he just had too much to drink and was still sleeping, so he didn’t answer.

The corners of Ivy Bond’s lips curved even more obviously, and the two bodyguards sent by the Bond Family finally breathed a sigh of relief at the sight.

Downstairs in the debridement room.

Ariana Grant’s wound had already been stitched and finally treated, but after waiting for half a day, there was no sign of Ashley Shaw.

Just as she was about to call and ask, Ashley Shaw arrived.

"Why did it take so long?" Ariana Grant hurriedly pulled her and asked.

Ashley Shaw, not revealing any clues, said, "I didn’t make an appointment in advance, so there were a lot of people in line."

Ariana Grant, as expected, didn’t realize that Ashley Shaw had almost been abducted by a demon just now. She nodded and asked: "So what did the doctor say? Did they ask you to get an IV drip?"

"No," Ashley Shaw shook the plastic bag in her hand: "They just prescribed some medicine. Just take it on time."

"That’s good, seeing the doctor puts my mind at ease."

"Let’s go. I just asked Dr. Tate, and she happens to be free now, so we can go see her at the inpatient department."

This time, Ariana Grant cooperated, and without much resistance, went with her to see Dr. Tate.

After a checkup, Dr. Tate showed a gratified expression.

"You’ve been taking good care of your health recently, keep it up."

Ariana Grant and Ashley Shaw both breathed a sigh of relief.

Ariana Grant was simply relieved, while Ashley Shaw almost felt like crying.

Saving her best friend’s life was something that could bring tears of joy to anyone.

But this good news was destined to not be shared with anyone, so Ashley Shaw silently suppressed her excitement and pretended to be calm as she spoke: "Dr. Tate..."

Jane Tate corrected her form of address: "I already told you, call me Aunt Tate, don’t be so distant. Otherwise, next time when you come to see me, I’ll make you take a number."

Ashley Shaw smiled and corrected, calling her "Aunt Tate."

"We’re going to Aethelgard for school in a few days, so this time you might have to prescribe more medicine for us. We won’t be back until the National Day."

Jane Tate waved her finger.

"No need. I’m transferring to Aethelgard Hospital next week anyway, so you can just come to Aethelgard Hospital to find me then."

"Which hospital?"

"Aethelgard Concord Hospital."

Ashley Shaw’s eyes widened: "Congratulations, Aunt Tate!"

Aethelgard Concord Hospital is said to be every doctor’s dream; getting in there proves one’s genuine abilities.

This showed that Jane Tate’s medical skills were indeed excellent.

Cillian Xavier really did introduce them to a great doctor.

Jane Tate tilted the corners of her mouth up and said, "At my age, I thought I’d lost my drive, but it seems I can still push myself a bit farther."

"You’re still young! If we were walking outside together, someone might mistake us for sisters."

"Yes, yes, Aunt Tate, you shouldn’t let us call you Aunt Tate anymore, call you Sis instead."

Jane Tate was overjoyed being praised like this.

"You two are the sweetest! Alright, go get your medicine. I’ll still give you two weeks’ worth. You can find me at Concordia by then."

"Alright! Thank you, Sis Tate."

Jane Tate laughed with her eyes curved into crescent moons.

"Go on."

On another note.

Ivy Bond had already returned to her ward floor.

The first thing she did was go to the doctor’s office to see the neurology director.

The neurology director’s surname was Holt, and her given name was Lily.

Lily Holt’s eyes flashed with panic when she saw Ivy Bond come in, but she quickly concealed it.

"Miss Bond, is there something you need?" Lily Holt asked, feigning calmness.

Ivy Bond got straight to the point and asked: "How many days until I’m discharged?"

"Well..." Lily Holt hesitated for a second and said: "We still need to observe for a few more days, your concussion was quite severe..."

"Is it really severe? I don’t feel that way. I’m not dizzy anymore."

Lily Holt smiled: "That’s because of the IV drip. If you stop the medication, you’ll start feeling dizzy again. So, let’s observe a few more days in the hospital."

Ivy Bond remembered her real intention and said: "You misunderstood; I’m not eager to be discharged, I want to stay longer. So, I need you to let me stay longer, and I’ll inform you when I want to be discharged."

Lily Holt, being the neurology director of Westcroft Central Hospital, hadn’t had anyone "inform" her of anything aside from the hospital director before.

She suppressed her discomfort and said: "Alright, it’s just that beds aren’t tight right now. Let me know when you’re ready."

"Thank you for the hard work."

Ivy Bond patted Lily Holt’s shoulder and walked out boldly.

As soon as she left, the smile on Lily Holt’s face faded immediately.

She was only being considerate due to the influence of the Xavier Family.

But even the Xavier Family wouldn’t use that tone with her.

A nearby intern couldn’t help but speak up for Lily Holt.

"What kind of people are these? Not even a bit of basic manners."

Another young nurse chimed in: "Aren’t they? Knowing she’s a patient, but you’d think she was here for a fashion show. In these two days in the hospital, her makeup is like cosplay."

"And another thing! Her perfume, you can smell it from the outpatient department. Did she use a kilo of perfume on herself?"

"Ha... that’s harsh of you."

"Is it harsher than she is? I went to change her IV, and she criticized my ugly nails... asked me to go get a manicure when I can. I’m a nurse; I can’t get a manicure..."

"Enough!" Lily Holt interrupted the two’s complaints, "Why bother with a cancer patient?"

Upon mentioning this, the two fell silent.

Indeed, there was no need.

To put it bluntly, the other party didn’t have many days left, so let her say what she wants.

In the end, they’re hospital workers, not even as good as those in the service industry.

If you cure someone, people think you should. But if you can’t, then prepare to get scolded.

Just then, two more nurses came rushing in, complaining to Lily Holt.

Apparently, after Ivy Bond went out, she demanded new hospital gowns from the nurse station.

She thought the hospital gown she was wearing was too old, so she asked the nurses for a brand new one.

The nurse, with a long face, said: "There’re only a few gowns on our floor, even the newest ones have been given to her, and she still complains they’re old. We’re not an apparel store, but she said if I didn’t get her one today, she’d have me thrown out of the Central Hospital."

Another chubby nurse said: "It was bad enough that she threatened us, but then she insulted me, calling me a fat pig... Director, you have to speak up for us!"

Lily Holt felt a headache coming on and could only call Cillian Xavier.

Ashley Shaw and Ariana Grant had just queued for their medicine and, upon leaving the hospital entrance, coincidentally ran into Cillian Xavier hurrying their way.
