Chapter 310: Chapter 310: Mixed-Up Generations
Once Ashley Shaw got out of the car, she finally realized why Shane Coleman said Xavier Quincy was no ordinary person.
You couldn’t even call this a "restaurant."
It’s more like an ancient city.
The area is so vast that it has to be measured in acres, with pavilions and towers, one traditional courtyard connected to another. If no one led the way, you’d probably get lost in there and wouldn’t find your way out for three days and nights.
Ariana Grant was bedazzled by the sight.
"For those who know, this is a restaurant. For those who don’t, they’d think it’s a set from an ancient film. How did I not know about this decadent paradise before? Ashley, how did you find this hidden gem?"
Ashley Shaw shook her head.
"I didn’t either, Leo picked this place."
Mentioning Xavier Quincy, Ariana Grant immediately understood.
After all, a person with a "home" like that is obviously different from us ordinary folks.
Thinking about soon meeting Xavier Quincy, "Is Leo easy to get along with? I once met an artist at an exhibition, and he was as haughty as could be."
Ashley Shaw said, "Rest easy, Leo’s the most amiable person I’ve ever met."
Ariana Grant suddenly asked, "More amiable than Cillian Xavier?"
Ashley Shaw hesitated, saying, "They have somewhat similar personalities, but... there’s a very noticeable difference."
"What’s the difference?"
"I can’t quite put my finger on it, but you’ll know when you meet him."
Shane Coleman had just parked the car and heard this, chiming in, "Who’s Cillian Xavier? I smell gossip!"
Ashley Shaw maintained a calm expression.
"No gossip, just a high school classmate of ours."
Shane Coleman shrugged indifferently.
Ariana Grant was already impatient.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go in now! I can’t wait another second."
Shane Coleman held Ariana Grant back.
"No rush, a friend of mine will be here in two minutes. Let’s wait here for him a bit."
Ariana Grant then remembered there was still someone missing, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Sorry, I forgot. Just treat me as a dung beetle rolling a cart, an idiot. Don’t mind an idiot like me!"
Shane Coleman certainly didn’t get angry over this and immediately replied, "Don’t worry, I never get angry with girls, especially not cute ones like you."
Ariana Grant said, "I heard when a girl is told she’s cute, it means she’s not good-looking and doesn’t have a good figure."
Shane Coleman raised an eyebrow.
"Really? But today, I even said you’re a big beauty."
"Did you? I forgot. Say it again for me."
Ashley Shaw couldn’t help but laugh.
"You two should form a duo and do stand-up comedy."
Ariana Grant said, "Then I’d be the one doing the setups."
"Why?"
"The one doing setups is usually a bit chubbier."
"Pfft..."
As they laughed and chatted, an A63 drove up.
The window on the driver’s side rolled down, revealing a composed and handsome face.
It was Owen Sinclair.
Owen, dressed in an elaborate black suit, with impeccably groomed hair, exuded an aura of calm and poise.
Ariana Grant’s eyes widened in disbelief.
"Movie King?"
Owen Sinclair smiled gently, a smile that felt like a spring breeze.
"Don’t call me that. You must be Ariana."
Ariana Grant nodded repeatedly, shocked, "You actually know me?"
Owen Sinclair said, "I’ve seen you in Ashley’s moments. You’re even cuter in person than in the photos."
Ariana Grant blushed, saying, "Please don’t say that, or I might take it seriously..."
Shane Coleman teased from the side, "Ariana, that’s not what you said when I called you cute."
"No way..."
Ariana Grant blushed even more.
At this moment, Ashley Shaw greeted, "Mr. Sinclair, long time no see."
"Long time no see, Ashley." Owen marked her with a serious gaze, then frowned, "Have you lost weight?"
Ashley Shaw instinctively touched her face.
"Really?"
"Yes. Are you feeling unwell recently? You look a bit under the weather."
Ashley Shaw was surprised by Owen Sinclair’s observational skills and said, "You can see that, I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather with a cold."
"Take good care of your health. No matter what you’re busy with, nothing’s more important than health."
Owen Sinclair showed genuine concern.
A warm feeling flowed through Ashley Shaw’s heart.
"Okay, thank you, you too, take care of your health."
For some reason, facing Owen Sinclair always felt like facing a senior family member.
Yet obviously, Owen kept himself in excellent shape, and you couldn’t tell he was old enough to be her dad.
Shane Coleman picked at his ear: "Owen, those words are showing your age! Hurry up and park, let’s head inside."
"Right, I’ll go park."
Owen gave Ashley Shaw a slight nod, turned the car around, and drove into The Nocturne’s designated parking area.
Once the car drove off, Ariana Grant couldn’t help but excitedly cling to Ashley Shaw’s sleeve.
"Owen Sinclair! It’s Owen Sinclair! Why didn’t you guys mention earlier that we were dining with Owen Sinclair? My heart almost stopped!"
"What’s up? Are you an Owen fan?" Shane Coleman asked.
"Of course! I grew up watching his movies. How can someone look like they grew up on preservatives? After all these years, his face hasn’t changed a bit. Plus, he’s almost fifty, yet his figure is still amazing! Way better than the guys we know!"
Shane Coleman laughed, "It is part of his job to maintain the best appearance. But yeah, Owen’s all-natural, without any high-tech help."
Ariana Grant sighed, "But it’s truly unexpected how his stunningly handsome wife would cheat on him. If I were his wife, I’d pamper him like a treasure!"
Shane Coleman instinctively said, "You shouldn’t say that!"
After all, Owen now suspects Ashley Shaw might be his daughter, and a friend of his daughter wanting to be his wife... wouldn’t that make things awkward?
But Ariana Grant misunderstood, thinking Shane Coleman was afraid Owen would hear and get hurt, immediately covering her mouth.
"I won’t say it, I won’t say it, there’s nothing good about that kind of woman."
Shane Coleman knew she misunderstood and explained, "There’s nothing (romantic) between them..."
But before he could finish, Owen Sinclair had walked over.
Shane Coleman had to keep quiet.
After all, it was someone’s private business, so he couldn’t go into details, and swallowed his words back.
Once the four of them were gathered, it was finally time to head inside.
The "gate" of The Nocturne was guarded by eight guards in ancient costumes, looking quite stern.
Ariana Grant felt a bit nervous, as if she were a little palace maid preparing to enter the palace, and instinctively moved closer to Ashley Shaw.
Ashley Shaw wasn’t nervous but found the place intriguing.
She mentioned they had a reservation inside, and showed a card Xavier Quincy sent her, which immediately made the "guards" smile.
"Please wait a moment, Miss. We’ll have someone take you inside."
"Okay."
Soon, a young woman dressed as a palace maid approached them, greeted them with an ancient-style bow, and led the way.
The sense of ceremony was absolutely maxed out.
