Chapter 367: Chapter 367: Calling Black White
Zoe Hayes was initially scheduled to travel to Aethelgard the day before school started, accompanied by her parents.
However, due to the incident at The Nocturne, Zoe Hayes offended the daughter of the second-in-command, causing Hank Hayes to face a lot of trouble at work and to be extremely busy.
A similar situation required Mrs. Hayes to find an opportunity to meet the second-in-command’s wife, so they simply decided to let Zoe go to Aethelgard a week earlier by herself for a few days.
This was also to avoid further anger from the second-in-command’s daughter while in Westcroft.
Unexpectedly, she ran into Ashley Shaw and her friends here.
Zoe Hayes hated Ashley Shaw with a passion.
She had finally met someone she was smitten with, only for that person to have no feelings for her and to stand on Ashley Shaw’s side.
And to add insult to injury, Ashley had transformed from the despised daughter of a mistress into the daughter of the movie star Owen Sinclair.
On top of that, her offending the second-in-command’s daughter also had something to do with Ashley, so anger and jealousy twisted inside her, making her face change instantly.
"Why is it you? What a jinx!"
Ariana Grant was furious but just clenched her fists tightly.
Ashley Shaw, however, remained calm and directly ignored Zoe’s remark, maintaining her politeness and said, "Sorry, you’re sitting in the wrong seat. This is my friend’s seat."
Ariana immediately cooperated by showing her boarding pass.
"Hello, this seat is mine, and yours is the window seat."
Zoe glared at the boarding pass, a flash of surprise crossing her eyes.
It indeed was her assigned seat.
This plane had many seats, how did she end up right in the same row as these two bitches?
"Could you move, please?"
Ashley said, explaining, "My friend isn’t feeling well. She might need to get up frequently, which could disturb your rest."
Ashley spoke very politely.
To her, after the day she had beaten up Zoe at the Nocturne, their grievances were settled.
So she was now treating Zoe with a usual attitude.
Yet Zoe despised Ashley even more than before.
Hearing their words, she scoffed and straightened her legs, crossing her arms.
"I got here first, so I’m sitting here now. It’s all the same row; what’s the difference? If you’re not satisfied, just swap seats with someone else!"
Economy class seats are narrow, and with her legs spread, even Ariana couldn’t squeeze in, let alone the ninety-pound Ashley.
She was clearly telling them to either squeeze past or ask the flight attendants for a swap because she wasn’t budging.
Ashley frowned, feeling she had been quite reasonable, but hadn’t expected the other side to be so rude.
Her face quickly turned cold.
"I’ll ask you one last time, will you move or not?"
Zoe thrust a finger in her ear, "Oh, my ear’s itchy, can’t hear a thing."
Ariana was so mad she cursed, "Shameless!"
Zoe’s face turned dark as she glared, "Who are you calling shameless?"
"Whoever answers, that’s who."
"You—"
Ashley didn’t want to argue with Zoe. As a flight attendant walked by, she raised her hand, "Hello!"
The flight attendant quickly approached with a smile, asking, "Hello, is there anything I can help you with?"
Ashley concisely explained the situation about Zoe taking their seat.
The flight attendant understood the situation, moved beside Ashley, and spoke to Zoe, "Ma’am, may I see your boarding pass please?"
"It’s in my bag, too lazy to get it! If you want it, get it yourself."
Zoe had stashed her bag above, clearly making it difficult.
The flight attendant decided to take Ariana’s boarding pass instead and saw that Ariana’s seat was indeed where Zoe was sitting. She prompted Zoe again, "Sorry, ma’am, this seat belongs to this young lady. Please return to your designated seat."
Zoe threw her earphones to the ground with a "smack," saying, "Aren’t you done yet? This plane isn’t full. Why fight for my seat? Let me tell you, if you keep bothering me, I’m going to file a complaint!"
The flight attendant’s face changed slightly. She hadn’t expected such a clean-looking girl to be so difficult.
After a moment’s hesitation, she turned to Ashley and Ariana.
"The back rows are empty, could you two possibly move back there?"
There was a touch of pleading in the flight attendant’s tone.
Ashley was annoyed, and Ariana even more so.
Being straightforward, unlike Ashley who could hold back, she said, "What does this mean? Does the child who cries get fed? Are we being bullied because we’re easygoing?"
The flight attendant turned pale.
"I didn’t mean that... Okay, I’ll go and get the purser."
With that, the flight attendant quickly left to find the purser.
Zoe’s mouth curled into a mocking smile, showing a winner’s stance.
The flight attendant couldn’t handle her; the purser wouldn’t change that.
She raised her eyebrows, saying, "Since you don’t mind the hassle, let’s just wait. Let the whole plane be delayed because of you two. Let this plane not take off at all; then you’ll be the culprits for the whole flight. I advise you to move to the back when the purser arrives, and stop making trouble here."
Ariana could have slapped her in anger.
"It’s all because of you! You took my seat and now you act reasonable?"
"You’re targeting me. It’s all the same row, and I’m already sitting. Why fight over it? It’s ridiculous!"
"You—"
Ariana raised her fist ready to fight Zoe, but Ashley held her back.
They had the right of way, but if Ariana hit Zoe, things would change.
Zoe watched Ashley restrain Ariana, disappointment flitting through her eyes.
She had wanted to provoke Ariana into making herself the justified victim, but Ashley, that bitch, stopped it.
Ashley Shaw, damn her! Her cunning ran so deep she saw right through Zoe’s plan.
As she stewed in her anger, the purser arrived.
Zoe was about to take a stance, making it clear she wouldn’t vacate her seat when she saw the purser’s enthusiastic smile walk right past her to Ashley Shaw.
"Hello, I’m the purser for this flight. Are you Miss Ashley Shaw and Miss Ariana Grant?"
Ashley and Ariana nodded blankly, "Yes, we are."
"Here’s the thing, we’d like to discuss something with you two."
"Go ahead."
"Would you like to change your seats?"
Zoe had been frustrated because the purser’s attitude towards Ashley and Ariana was too friendly.
Now hearing these words, she was overjoyed.
She immediately thought of Hank Hayes.
Her father had booked an economy cabin for her because he was trying to stay low-key amid his ongoing issues.
But maybe her father had people secretly protecting her?
Thinking this, Zoe became exhilarated.
