Chapter 374: Chapter 374: Cheating
After leaving the inpatient department, Assistant Lowell couldn’t help but speak, "Mr. Prescott Jr., I’m sorry."
Warren Prescott glanced at him, "What are you apologizing for?"
Assistant Lowell said shamefully, "I almost misunderstood the situation earlier and treated them as rioters and directly called the police."
"You’ve already said you didn’t understand the situation. Next time, no matter what kind of problem you encounter, make sure you understand the situation first before taking any action. Emotions can’t solve any problems."
"Yes..."
Assistant Lowell felt even more ashamed.
Usually seeing Warren Prescott, he thought he was a bad-tempered man.
But when something really happens, he is more calm than anyone else.
Although he is older than Warren, he truly learns something from Warren every day.
Besides the high salary, it’s also a key reason for his willingness to follow Warren.
Having someone to guide you, leading you to progress together, is such a good opportunity to improve oneself.
Without Warren, he might not find a better boss than him in this lifetime.
Just then Warren spoke with a sense of disdain, "Stop sulking and quickly register at the emergency department for me."
Assistant Lowell snapped back to reality, recalling Warren’s injuries, and promptly rushed to the emergency department to register.
Actually, Warren didn’t need to register at all; as soon as he arrived, all the doctors gathered around.
"Mr. Prescott Jr., what’s happened to you?"
"Who dared to do this to you?!"
Warren said faintly, "Scratched by a cat, help me handle it."
The doctors were taken aback.
"Domestic cat or stray cat? If it’s a stray, with so many exposed wounds, you’ll need a rabies shot."
Warren’s face turned dark, and he directly instructed Assistant Lowell, "Ask them to bring some medicine, I’ll wait for you in the car."
After speaking, he walked straight out of the emergency department, ignoring the doctors’ inquiries.
Assistant Lowell’s lips slightly curved; indeed, this was still the Mr. Prescott Jr. he knew.
Always quick-tempered.
But for some reason, after today, he wasn’t as afraid of Mr. Prescott Jr. losing his temper as before.
Probably because he understood deep down, Warren seemed hard to get along with but was actually a person with a warm heart underneath his cold exterior.
But not fearing doesn’t mean he doesn’t respect Warren.
Just seeing how Warren dealt with Chester Crawford today, he could never disrespect him.
Once in the car, Assistant Lowell provided Warren with some simple wound care.
The injuries on his hands were not bad; it was the ones on the face...
"They might bruise for several days," Assistant Lowell said. "When we get home, I’ll have the servant use an egg to rub the bruise away."
"Not going home," Warren said.
"Do you have other matters to attend to?"
"No, head to The Prescott Group’s nearby hotel."
Assistant Lowell quickly understood what Warren meant.
He didn’t want Elder Prescott and Claudia Jennings to worry, so he decided not to go home until his wounds healed.
Warren was like this; he appeared indifferent, not caring about anyone, but his thoughts could often be more meticulous than others’.
Except for his sharp tongue and stubborn temper...
Assistant Lowell naturally wouldn’t express these complaints aloud; after all, no one is perfect and he has more flaws than Mr. Prescott Jr., what right does he have to criticize him?
Gathering his thoughts, Assistant Lowell took a turn and drove towards the nearest hotel under the Prescott Group.
However, neither expected to run into Lars Prescott and a popular actress at the hotel entrance.
As their eyes met, Assistant Lowell’s scalp tingled.
He nervously glanced at Warren, but saw Warren not only didn’t get angry but even had a slight smile.
Is this... Is he smiling?
Or did the stimulation cause him to lose control of his facial muscles?
Lars Prescott noticed them too, especially seeing the wounds on Warren’s face, his smile abruptly disappeared, and he quickly walked over, leaving the actress behind.
"What’s wrong with your face? Who hit you? Are the wounds treated?"
Lars had unhidden worry on his face.
Warren’s smile suddenly vanished, and he asked expressionlessly, "Who are you?"
Lars furrowed his brows, about to speak when the actress caught up.
"Lance, why did you leave me behind?"
The actress’s sweet voice made Warren’s stomach churn with nausea.
Lars’s expression was very stiff; he turned to the actress and said coldly, "Get lost!"
The actress froze, instinctively wanting to ask why, but turned and saw Warren’s face which bore some resemblance to Lars’s.
Women in the entertainment industry are born actors, very good at reading the room; though she didn’t immediately react earlier, she realized now.
She said, "Chairman Prescott, I’ll be leaving first," and hurried to a van parked by the roadside.
"Warren, just now..."
"I don’t know you. Decent people don’t block the way."
Even if these sentences were used individually, they could infuriate Lars instantly.
But since he was seen directly, he couldn’t muster the anger.
When he came to his senses, Warren was already gone.
He didn’t see him enter the hotel, so he must have gone home.
Lars’s breath quickened for a moment but soon calmed down.
Warren wouldn’t tell Claudia Jennings and Elder Prescott.
If he intended to, he would have said something last year.
His phone received a new message at this moment.
Upon checking, it was from the actress asking if he was still going for a late-night snack.
Lars didn’t reply, turned off his phone, and from another pocket extracted another phone.
Dialing Mr. Rowan’s number, soon a silver business car pulled over.
Before Mr. Rowan got out to open the door for him, he had already opened it himself and sat inside.
"Chairman Prescott, where to?"
"Home."
"Yes, sir."
Forty minutes later, the car drove into the Prescott family villa.
Actually, three years ago Lars had taken a liking to an old manor and wanted the whole family to move there, but Elder Prescott refused, saying they could move if they wanted, but he started from here and would return here to his roots.
So even though the manor was purchased and renovated, their family had yet to move in.
Lars entered the door, just in time to see Claudia Jennings dressed and coming downstairs.
Their eyes met, and excitement flashed through Claudia Jennings’s eyes; she walked up a few steps to hold Lars’s arm.
"Why are you back? Didn’t you say you’d be on a business trip to Riverton?"
Lars showed a tired smile, "I was a bit exhausted, so I sent my subordinates instead."
"Are you tired? Where’s the pain? Is it the old issue with your back acting up?"
In recent years, perhaps due to aging, Lars’s back pain often recurs, so their intimate moments have become less frequent.
Claudia Jennings hadn’t been passionate about it for some time due to age, plus her husband’s health issues meant she didn’t feel any displeasure.
In her spare time, she had specially asked the family doctor to teach her massage.
Though not as skilled as a professional, it helped relax muscles daily.
So when Lars nodded, she immediately said, "Then come upstairs with me, I’ll give you a massage."
Lars looked at her fully made-up face, "Seeing you dressed like this, weren’t you planning to go out?"
