Chapter 192: Testing Warren Prescott’s Heart

Chapter 192: Chapter 192: Testing Warren Prescott’s Heart

"Spectator Live?" Ashley Shaw instinctively looked at Ariana Grant.

Ariana knew what she was going to ask and immediately waved her hand, "I haven’t sent fruit tea to Spectator Live. Ever since you said it might make big money and we should apply for a patent, I haven’t sent it to anyone."

Warren Prescott’s eyebrow twitched slightly.

Big money? Patent?

Then Ariana’s fruit tea is still somewhat lacking.

But making it for self-enjoyment or setting up a small stall is more than enough.

Ashley asked, "So who did you send it to before then?"

She wasn’t really worried about leaking the recipe, but she did trust Warren’s taste.

This guy could taste even one extra grain of salt. His taste buds were incredibly sharp, otherwise, she wouldn’t have spent almost all of her three years of marriage in the kitchen.

If he said he had tasted it, then he must have really had the exact same flavor before.

So she was just curious, how did someone from Spectator Live end up drinking Ariana’s fruit tea?

"No one," Ariana shook her head cluelessly and said, "I didn’t send it to anyone."

As soon as she said that, she suddenly remembered something and raised her eyelids sharply.

"I, I remembered."

"What?"

"I’ll tell you later," Ariana’s cheeks were already flushed.

Ashley understood right away. It must have been sent to her online boyfriend.

Could it be that her online boyfriend got a job and is now working at Spectator Live?

If that’s the case, maybe she could ask Mark to help find out what kind of person he is.

While she was thinking about this, she heard Warren ask, "Do you need me to help look into it?"

Ashley quickly waved her hand, "No need, it’s not really important. It’s probably just a similar taste."

Warren responded with an indifferent "Hmm," stood up, and said, "When are you going there? I’ll take you."

"No need." Ashley politely refused again, "We still have some other things to pack. We’ll head over later ourselves."

Ariana, with her sharp eyes, noticed Warren frown slightly and immediately tried to smooth things over on the side.

"We’re just discussing what gifts to bring, and since you’ve been busy all day, we don’t want to tire you out. So, maybe you should head back first?"

Warren’s expression brightened visibly.

"Alright, you two take your time discussing. If there’s anything you’re unsure of..."

He originally wanted to say that if they couldn’t decide on what to bring, they could ask him, but then he thought that Ashley probably knew his grandfather better than he did, so he changed the topic, "I’ll get going."

"Okay, take care! Thanks for all your help today; Ashley and I both appreciate it."

Warren raised his eyebrows slightly, said nothing, but seemed to be in a serene mood.

"I won’t disturb you anymore. See you at home."

After saying that, Warren picked up his phone from the coffee table and walked out.

It wasn’t until the footsteps outside gradually faded and became inaudible that Ariana closed the door.

Then, Ariana walked up to her like a thief, laughing sneakily.

Ashley looked at her in surprise.

"What’s up with you, acting so weird. Are you having a fit?"

"Who’s having a fit?"

"You are. He said he was leaving earlier, yet you still kept talking to him for so long. Aren’t you afraid he’ll turn around and stay for another pot of fruit tea?"

She remembered that Ariana used to be really scared of Warren, but today she was acting like a completely different person.

"You don’t understand. I was testing!"

"Testing what? Testing for what?"

"Testing his attitude towards you now."

Ashley’s heart skipped a beat for no reason, and she asked with a straight face, "Attitude for what? Is there even a need to test his attitude towards me? Didn’t you see it clearly back in school?"

She still remembered one time when Warren was outright harsh. During the morning exercises, he directly called her out in front of all the classmates, saying she was like sticky toffee that couldn’t be shaken off.

For a girl at that age, that was an extremely hurtful thing to say.

Having lived a new life, she still couldn’t understand why she ever liked Warren.

Bad personality, bad temper, quick to turn on people, no patience whatsoever; the list of flaws was a mile long, and his only redeeming qualities were "tall, rich, and handsome."

Except for those three points, there wasn’t anything else.

Ariana shook her head, "Girl, in Westcroft, if a man fulfills even one of ’tall,’ ’rich,’ or ’handsome,’ he’s already a perfect man. Let alone having all three, plus he’s brilliant and excels in studies!"

"I’ll admit he’s good at studying, but I don’t see where his ’character’ is exceptional."

"Oh, you have a deadly prejudice against him."

"What are you trying to say?"

Ariana suddenly grinned, leaned toward her, and said mysteriously, "I just tested it out. Ashley, Warren likes you!"

Ashley was momentarily stunned, then erupted in laughter.

Ariana looked completely confused and reached out to pull her arm.

"Don’t laugh, why are you laughing?"

Ashley finally managed to stop laughing, wiped away the tears that came from laughing, and said, "Last time, you thought Warren liked you. This time, you think he likes me. So, who does he actually like, you or me?"

Ariana turned beet red.

"Come on... Last time it was a misunderstanding. I got it wrong, didn’t I? But this time I’m sure, he really likes you! Only when someone likes you would they keep trying to help you with something. Even if you don’t need it, they still want to help. Even if you refuse, they’d be unhappy. That’s what liking someone is!"

Ashley pointed out the incident at the last KTV.

"If he really likes me as you say, then why did he deliberately order such expensive drinks that day? Normally, if someone likes you, shouldn’t they be eager to pay the bill?"

Ariana suddenly asked her, "How much did you spend last time?"

Ashley was at a loss for words.

"Hundreds, hundreds of thousands perhaps."

"Hundreds of thousands? Was it two or three hundred thousand? How much did you pay?"

Ashley moved her lips but couldn’t articulate the specific amount.

Because at the time, due to some unforeseen circumstances, she wasn’t the one who paid the bill.

Ariana saw her silent, her eyes curved into a crescent, and smiled, "So in the end, it wasn’t even you who paid the bill, right?"

"Cough!"

Ashley cleared her throat and said, "Indeed, I didn’t pay because I fainted afterward and was unconscious. I was sent to the hospital, weren’t you there watching over me for two days?"

"Did he ever ask you for the money afterward?"

"No... Didn’t you say later to invite him over for a meal at our home?"

"Oh..." Ariana drew out her voice meaningfully, saying, "So in the end, you didn’t pay the bill, and he didn’t ask you for the money. Now tell me, isn’t that the sign of liking someone?"

"No!" Ashley said firmly, "That’s because he doesn’t lack money."
