Chapter 106: Chapter 106: Sarcastic Attitude
The class group chat immediately blew up with that message.
"Top 20 in the province? Who’s that?"
"Besides our class president, it seems like only May Lee would have a chance at that."
"No way, May Lee’s score has been shown, and if she made it to the top 20, the score shouldn’t have been displayed."
Everyone unanimously began tagging the class president and May Lee.
May Lee popped up at this moment.
"It’s not me, I only scored 601 points!"
The word "only" made everyone envious.
So everyone concluded that the class president ranked in the top 20 in the province.
Just then, someone asked about the new person who joined the group.
May Lee sent an eye-rolling emoji.
"Who else could it be? It’s our class’s average-lowering love letter girl!"
The classmates privately referred to Ashley Shaw as the "love letter girl."
Meanwhile, Ashley Shaw wasn’t checking her phone; instead, she went upstairs to find Ariana Grant.
Ariana Grant was busy taking down the chairs that had been stacked up.
Ashley Shaw quickly went over.
"Let me help you."
Ariana Grant was taken by surprise.
"Why did you come up here?"
"It was too boring downstairs, so I thought I’d come up and help you."
"If I had known you were coming up, I wouldn’t have run up and down earlier. Anyway, now that you’re here, help me turn over these chairs, will you?"
"Sure."
Ashley Shaw nodded and walked to the row by the window, flipping the chairs one by one.
Just then, the sports representative walked in.
Seeing Ashley Shaw, his eyes instantly widened.
"Are you... Ashley Shaw?"
The girl by the window had soft, delicate features, a small red mole at the corner of her eye, inexplicably captivating.
If it weren’t for the fact that her face was still the same face, the features were still the same features, the sports representative almost wouldn’t have recognized Ashley Shaw.
Ashley Shaw smiled slightly: "Long time no see."
"Long time no see." The sports representative felt inexplicably nervous in front of Ashley Shaw’s smile.
He cleared his throat awkwardly, scratched his head, and stepped forward to help.
Soon after, more and more classmates came in, all looking at Ashley Shaw with astonished eyes.
"Am I seeing this right? Is that Ashley Shaw?"
"Oh, my gosh!"
"Who would’ve thought, Ashley Shaw turned out to be so pretty. I have to get her WeChat."
"Wait for me, I’m coming too!"
Soon, Ashley Shaw was surrounded by a crowd.
Without exception, they all wanted to get her WeChat.
Ashley Shaw felt a bit awkward.
She had come up to help Ariana Grant clean, not to exchange WeChats with everyone.
But since the others were already holding out their QR codes, she could only smile awkwardly as she added them.
She ended up adding over a dozen people, even some boys from neighboring classes.
Ariana Grant looked at everyone’s reaction, then glanced at Ashley Shaw, sneering inwardly.
Those people used to bully Ashley along with Warren Prescott, but now, each one couldn’t wait to hang around her dear Ashley.
Unfortunately, back then, Ashley was the one they didn’t care about, but now they can’t even dream of reaching her!
Ariana Grant squeezed past the boys surrounding Ashley Shaw, took her arm and said, "Let’s go, Ashley, I’ll walk you downstairs. It’s about time."
"Okay."
With Ariana Grant’s intervention, Ashley Shaw finally "broke through the encirclement."
She gave Ariana Grant a grateful look, was on the verge of stepping out, and when she raised her eyes, she saw a tall, imposing figure.
It was Warren Prescott.
He wasn’t wearing a suit today, but he was still dressed all in black.
When he appeared, it was as if everyone else became a mere backdrop.
Ashley Shaw looked at him as Warren Prescott was also watching her.
He had been at the back door of the classroom for a while.
So he clearly saw Ashley Shaw surrounded by the boys in the class, like a princess with everyone fawning over her.
He also clearly saw the awkwardness and panic on Ashley Shaw’s face.
In that instant, he even had the impulse to throw all those people around her out.
But before he could do anything, Ariana Grant had already led her out.
Their eyes met, but Ashley Shaw was the first to look away, walking past Warren Prescott as if no one else was there.
Warren Prescott stood by the door, but the doorway was only so big, and with his tall frame in the way, others couldn’t get through.
Yet, he seemed to have no intention of moving aside, watching her intently without blinking.
Ashley Shaw had to speak up: "Excuse me, can you move?"
Warren Prescott lowered his eyes and looked at her carefully.
From his angle, he could perfectly see her curled eyelashes.
He wanted to ask her why she hadn’t replied to his messages, but the words stayed unspoken, and instead, he slowly stepped aside, just enough to let Ashley Shaw pass.
As soon as Ashley Shaw left, a boy from the class came over jokingly, "Warren, did you see Ashley Shaw? Didn’t she write you a love letter before? Now that she’s become so pretty, don’t you want to consider it?"
The boy continued with a laugh, "If you’re not interested, I might just go for it!"
Warren Prescott glanced over expressionlessly, his eyes glinting as if chilled with ice.
The boy inexplicably felt the air around him cool by a degree.
Anyone with keen eyes could tell the atmosphere was off.
The boy felt like he had fallen into an ice cave and fled in panic with an awkward laugh, scratching his head.
"What’s up with Warren?"
"I don’t know. He seems really upset after seeing Ashley Shaw."
"Didn’t Warren always dislike that cheap sister before? That guy had to bring it up in front of Warren, that’s what he gets."
Meanwhile, after reaching the stairwell, Ariana Grant immediately pulled Ashley Shaw over and said, "Ashley, delete those people you just added. They used to bully us, and now they swarm around as soon as they see you’ve changed, it’s disgusting!"
After saying that, Ariana Grant felt it was inappropriate, shaking her head: "Forget it, deleting them isn’t right either. What if they find out and start gossiping about you behind your back?"
Ashley Shaw was about to speak when the broadcast suddenly came on.
"Will all graduates please return to your respective classes to fill out the college application forms."
"Repeating, will all graduates please return to your respective classes to fill out the college application forms."
Ashley Shaw waved to Ariana Grant: "Let’s talk later. You should head back to your class, and I’ll head back too."
"Alright."
The two parted ways, and by the time Ashley Shaw returned to her class, it was already full of people.
Her entrance naturally drew everyone’s astonished stares.
All eyes followed Ashley Shaw as she moved.
Under so many gazes, Ashley Shaw felt quite uneasy, though it didn’t show on her face.
Seeing this, May Lee couldn’t resist her snarkiness again.
"Tsk, here comes the girl who dragged down our class average score!"
Ashley Shaw’s brows furrowed slightly.
Drag down the average score?
Was she talking about her?
Turning her head, Ashley Shaw indeed saw May Lee looking at her as she spoke.
Ashley Shaw found it amusing but couldn’t be bothered to respond.
At that moment, the class president walked in.
He was holding a stack of college application forms, which he divided up and distributed.
"Don’t fill them out just yet, everyone. I’ll tell you how to fill them out in a bit."
As soon as he finished speaking, someone in the class suddenly spoke up: "Class president! Congratulations! Aren’t you going to treat us to a meal?"
"Yeah! Treat us!"
"Come on, treat us!"
The class president looked bewildered.
"Why am I treating?"
