Chapter 218: 218: Royal order

The Imperial Messenger cleared his throat as he said "That’s good then. More news will be brought to you on how the presentations should be made. So keep that in mind"

He added "And also remember the Emperor’s words of warning on the case of the wizard of EL. Don’t disappoint him any further unless..." he stopped as he turned.

The Imperial Messenger soon left the King’s court in the company of some imperial guards. And as soon as he left, King Edward sat back down on his throne.

He took a deep breath in and out. At the moment, all he could think about was the Emperor’s threat of taking down his reign if he didn’t do anything soon.

He couldn’t let that be his fate. Not at all.

"Your Majesty, Don’t tell me you’re going to let that happen?" Queen Lea sat down and turned to him, looking all worried. "Don’t tell me you’re going to let Elvis marry into the Imperial Family? Didn’t you say my dear son Lysander was going to be the one to marry into the Imperial family?"

King Edward inhaled and exhaled "The Emperor has already made his decision based on the Imperial Princess’ obsession over him. So there’s nothing we can do about it. We can’t go against his orders nor can we make the Princes suddenly fall for Lysander. It’s already set"

Queen Lea panicked "No. You have to do something Your Majesty. We can’t let him have more power than he already has. He’ll walk down on us if he ever gets to that position. We can’t give him more wings. We have to cut all he has" She shook her head.

"You don’t have to worry about that. I’ve been in control since he was young. And it’s not going to change anytime soon. He can’t break free" He said confidently.

But Queen Lea was still worried "But still..."

"My Queen" He stared at her "Just trust my words and decisions. Nothing will happen. It’s just a marriage. I won’t let him gain anything from it."

"Besides, we can’t do anything if we want to. So let’s leave it as it is" He sighed "What we should be worried about right now is how to take down that wizard of EL before this month ends"

King Edward stared at the scroll in his hands "We’ll only have to rely on this Priest to do something"

"But you sent someone already to take the heat of the wizard of EL if the crown prince doesn’t do so?" Queen lea asked "I believe he’d do something at least"

But King Edward sighed "We can’t underestimate the wizard of EL. That’s at least something I’ve learnt. So in case that didn’t work, we’ll pull this last card. I believe he won’t be able to escape with this final strike. Never" He expressed, confident.

Later that day, Queen Lea strolled through the corridors of the palace with the two ladies-in-waiting beside him.

She was heading to Lysander’s room.

"That annoying Emperor. Why does he have to step in and interfere with this marriage? Just because his whiny daughter asked him to?" She rolled her eyes "So annoying"

But she scuffed "But I won’t give up that easily" Queen Lea smiled "I won’t let Elvis be the one to marry into the Imperial family. Never. I’ll make sure it’s my son"

"What do you plan on doing My Queen?" One of the ladies-in-waiting asked.

"I’ll have my son take the lead. He should make sure he wins that heart of the princess immediately so she changes her mind and wants to marry him instead. That way, they will have the two of them get engaged" She expressed proudly.

The second lady-in-waiting expressed "But don’t you that trying to tamper with anything relating to the Imperial court is dangerous? I mean.. it’s the Emperor’s order"

Queen Lea scuffed "I’m just trying to make her fall for someone else and marry someone else. It’s not like I’m rejecting his Imperial order. Besides, it’s not like he’s a God" She said as she walked over to Lysander’s bedroom.

On arrival, she announced her presence through the guards standing guard at Lysander’s chamber door at the order of the King.

But Lysander didn’t reply from inside.

"Why isn’t he replying? Is he throwing a tantrum or something?" Queen Lea said as she stared at the guard "Open up the door"

The guards did as he said. They opened the door and the Queen and her two lady-in-waiting walked into the chamber.

And to their surprise, Lysander was nowhere to be seen. The chamber was empty as they looked around in shock.

"And where the hell is my son?" Queen Lea demanded.

The guards rushed in. They looked around, searched around. But there still wasn’t any sign of Prince Lysander anywhere.

"I thought you were assigned to guard my son in here? Where the hell did he go to?" He demanded.

"Well.. he was in here a while ago. We locked the door and he didn’t go out so we don’t know .." The guard shuttered.

"Oh dear" Queen Lea dramatically had the back of her palm over her forehead as though she was going to faint "Where the hell did my son go to then? Did he just disappear?!"

One of the lady-in-waiting headed to the window and noticed that it was broken open. "Look, he certainly left through here" She announced.

The Queen looked in that direction as she gasped "My son escaped?"

"Most certainly Your Majesty" The lady-in-waiting replied.

"How’s that possible?" Queen Lea headed to the window and pushed it open. It was open. She gasped "How ... How could he have escaped...? Where did he even go...? This is a mess!"

"Calm down Your Majesty" The Lady-in-waiting calmed her down.

"How am I supposed to be calm when my son is gone?" She said as she turned to the guards who stood there "Go now and look for my son! Make sure you find him before the end of today!" He demanded.

"Sure! We will!" The guards immediately left the room.
