Chapter 114: 114: A Letter
Silence again.
This time King Edward cleared his throat "And what rubbish are you talking about now?"
"We all know the truth here. So you don’t have to pretend any further" Eden had cold eyes on him now.
He wasn’t smiling as he did whenever he threatened anyone. He didn’t seem pleased to see him at all. Especially after what Elvis went through because of him
King Edward hesitated, still staring at Eden. And then he said "You act as though you are his parent. One who doesn’t know better would actually think so"
"Probably because I’d make a better one than any of you here" Eden was harsh with his words.
Pissed and harsh "Because at least I won’t make active attempts to harm and even... Kill him.."
"You...." Elvis muttered from his bed. He wanted to stop whatever was happening but it didn’t seem like anyone was even looking his way.
"What rubbish" Queen Lea snapped "Are you calling the King a murderer? Don’t you know how atrocious that is?"
"Cut the act. I know you two are in on it too" Eden stared at her "How does it feel when your plan failed to hit its target?"
King Edward and Queen Lea were quiet.
Eden continued "This time, it hit your dear son instead. But next time . We can’t be sure if it won’t come back to kill you..."
"You...!" The queen snapped.
But Eden didn’t bother looking at her.
He stared at the cold expression of the King who had clenched both fists behind him.
"And maybe next time when you have such silly plans.." Eden added "Try thinking it through first. It doesn’t cost a penny to use the brain"
He said as he walked out of the chamber.
Lysander wanted to leave with him but noticed that he wasn’t in the best mood. So he let him be for the meantime.
He decided to visit his brother instead and check up on him.
The room was quiet for awhile as Queen Lea stared at Elvis, who lay there watching.
"Greetings Father..." He greeted them.
"You must be proud of your little monster running wild and talking down on us at will, huh? You must be so happy" Queen Lea pointed out.
"I’m sorry about that, he probably wasn’t thinking straight" That was all Elvis could say.
"The nerves of the two of you.. Just because you sustained some little arrow injury you’re making him turn against the royal family. What a hassle" Queen lea dramatically fanned herself with her palms.
"This wasn’t our deal and you know it" King Edward said to Elvis. "The plan was pretty much simple. And at the moment, I’m already getting impatient"
Elvis kept mute.
King Edward continued "Your time is ticking, and if you can’t handle that monster soon, I’ll dim you a failure and have it done. Even if it involves the whole kingdom attacking, I’ll make sure I take him down myself"
He added "So don’t bite more than you can chew"
The king warmed as he walked off, followed by Queen Lea.
Lysander stayed behind with the Royal Physician to check on Elvis.

Eden arrived at his chamber, running his hand through his messy hair as he let out a loud sigh of frustration.
"What a family this is!" He snapped "If being rich and royal means having such a family then I bet I’d prefer being poor with a better one"
Lenny raised his head from the bed "What now?"
"I can’t just believe the nerves of those people. And his mother didn’t even come to check up on him? That’s crazy" He snapped.
"So how did the treatment go?" Lenny changed the topic after Eden sat down in bed.
"Well" Eden replied "He recovered to some extent at least. But as you said, at the expense of my strength. I’m basically worn out now. I need to take a bath. And the rest" He sighed loudly.
"Well, I told you. You’re lucky It wasn’t worse. You could have been unconscious for days" Lenny explained "And while taking a rest is ideal, I don’t think you’d want to even do that at the moment"
Eden glared at him "And why? What happened?"
Lenny stared at him.
"Don’t tell me something critical changed in the plot and now I have to run away from the palace to escape death" Eden panicked.
Lenny blinked "I don’t think you technically need to run away from the palace though..."
"Then that’s good" Eden said "So what’s it now?"
Lenny tapped on the piece of paper that was beneath his paws on the bed.
Eden looked at it "And what’s this?" Eden picked it up "A letter? From who?"
Eden opened it and went through its content.
His eyes first went down to who it was from. And his jaw dropped.
"The Grand duke..." Eden said as he now began reading through its message.
His jaw kept dropping as he did.
It wasn’t supposed to be a public massage. He was sure Leo had found a way to make this message get to his room alone.
He was the only person who was supposed to read it.
And he understood why he was the only person who was supposed to read it.
"What the hell is this.... Is he threatening me?’
Eden looked up at Lenny who had obviously read it as well. He shrugged "It pretty much seemed like a threat I guess"
Eden sighed as he rolled his head "This is... Why does it have to be now...? why.. why does it even have to be like this?"
Eden was now almost regretting his choice of spilling all he said in front of Leo.
He was beginning to regret it because it seemed like that was what had put him into this hot soup he was in based on the message that arrived for him.
"I guess I should have stayed away from him and never bothered adding him to the harem at all. He’s a hard nut to crack and I’m sure he’ll be the death of me" Eden gasped, thinking about how his life was going to be in the coming days.
If one thing was for sure, it was the fact that the word rest was going to have to leave his dictionary for a while.
