Chapter 159: 159: A Dinner In Robe
Eden was done washing up. He stepped out of the bathroom while wrapping himself in a white robe.
His body was still warm as he fastened the robe around his waist. Water still dripped down his fair skin and wet hair as he rubbed a towel around it.
A knock came on the door.
"Who’s it?" Eden asked as he sat down on the bed, the towel still over his blonde hair.
"The Lord summons you for dinner," someone from outside informed him.
"Okay. I’ll be there," Eden assured the man as he left.
He sat there on the bed, muttering to himself. "I think I could go like this. Since he desperately wants a conversation."
Lenny blinked at him. "Huh? Like this?"
"Yes. I’m going to flirt with him anyways, so I should at least look like it." Eden ran a hand through his legs, soothing the warmth that ran through them.
"At this point, I think he’s just going to kill you out of annoyance," Lenny sighed, having lost hope in Eden.
Eden ran his eyes across the room as thoughts came to him. "And I think I should also spend the night with him."
Lenny blinked at him in shock. "Huh? Sleep? What do you mean? How are you supposed to do that when he doesn’t even like the air you breathe?!"
Eden smiled. "You’re overthinking. I’m not sleeping with him in the sense that you’d think I am. I’m just going to share the same room as him."
Lenny frowned. "And how the hell are you going to do that?"
Eden smiled again. He ran his hand across the bed as purple dust dispersed around. The dust spread over the bed and drifted throughout the room.
"What’s that?" Lenny asked, looking around.
"A skill I’ve been practicing for a while."
"What skill?"
"A magic skill that can ruin here. It’ll be my excuse for not being able to stay in this room tonight," Eden explained.
"Oh."
"So," Eden got up to his feet, adjusting his robe, "I’m off to dinner."
While Eden made his way out of the room for dinner, Lenny disappeared into dust.
---
The table was ready, and the meals were being served by the maids.
Leo was already seated before the dining table, his meal served before him while Damien stood at his side.
They were waiting for Eden’s arrival, whom they had already called for.
"What’s taking so long?" Leo asked, his eyes on the table.
"I don’t know... I already sent for him to be called. I don’t know what’s taking him so long," Damien expressed.
At that moment, thoughts came to Leo. He couldn’t help but wonder if Eden could have possibly escaped or something.
"Did he perhaps... escape...?" Damien thought while staring at Leo.
"Go and bring him here immediately," Leo instructed, still seated.
"I’ll be off to get him," Damien said quickly, turning to leave.
But Eden had already walked into the dining room.
"No need to come looking for me. I’m already here," Eden casually announced as he walked in.
He ran a hand through his wet hair as he made his entrance. His fair legs carried him gracefully to the seat closest to where Leo sat.
Then he pulled out a chair, his hands gently slipping out from the robe that threatened to hide his skin—the very skin he wished to showcase tonight.
Damien’s eyes were on Eden, wide with shock. He couldn’t help but glare at the flamboyant and rather provocative outfit Eden had chosen tonight.
A simple white robe that revealed his skin to a great extent.
Leo casually stared at him, his expression plain. "And what’s this?"
Eden, already sitting down beside Leo, cast him a smile. "What’s what?"
Leo stared at him. The V-shaped opening at the neck of the robe was exposing more than enough of his skin—white, smooth, and soft-looking.
"What’s wrong?" Eden asked as Leo continued to stare at his face.
"Why are you dressed like someone who lives in a brothel?" he questioned.
Eden blinked. "What are you talking about?" He casually adjusted the neckline of his robe, exposing even more of his skin for Leo to see.
But Leo didn’t seem thrilled or even interested in the provocation. "This is a dining table," he said.
"What’s wrong with it?" Eden casually leaned back. "I should feel at home here. So this dress makes me feel at home. That’s why I have it on. What’s wrong with that?"
Eden winked a smile at Leo.
"You shameless thing. How can you wear such provocative clothes here? Are you trying to seduce someone or what?" Damien questioned.
Eden turned to him. "Seducing someone? And why would I do that? I mean..." He ran a hand through his hair. "This is one of my most modest clothes."
"The audacity..." Damien muttered bitterly.
"What’s wrong? Are you worried that you got aroused by seeing me?" Eden winked at Damien.
Damien froze, his face pale as he glared at Eden in panic. "You... what rubbish are you talking about?! Why would I be... you!"
"Enough," Leo said casually.
He stared at Eden, who was now looking through the meals that had been served. "You should learn some ethics and morals of dressing while here. I don’t entertain such."
Eden turned his eyes toward the uptight moralist who wore nothing but a casual expression.
"So you mean... you don’t like what I’m wearing?" Eden leaned closer to Leo across the table, staring right into his poker face. "Or are you speaking because you were triggered?"
Leo kept his eyes on him.
They stared at each other for a long moment, as though they were locked in a staring competition. And then Leo stretched out his hand toward Eden.
Eden paused, his eyes tracing Leo’s hand as it drew closer to him.
He watched as Leo’s hand reached out, moving steadily toward his face.
All Eden could think was: What the hell is he doing now?!
