Chapter 167: 167: Late Night Library Visit
Eden took his time strolling through the mansion. He was looking for the library, and it took him minutes before he finally got a clue of where it could possibly be.
Eden arrived at the library, standing before its entrance, and there were no guards there. He guessed Leo really didn’t need anyone around.
"I can’t go through the entrance..." Eden ran his hand through his chin, stroking his nonexistent beard. "I should certainly teleport then."
It took a while, coming up with some strings of words and thoughts for that. And soon he puffed off at the entrance and found himself in the forest just outside the mansion.
It was already night, so the forest was dead silent. Eden looked around at the creepy-looking environment and sighed.
"I guess that went wrong..." he said as he stretched himself out, getting ready for another round.
He cast another spell and teleported again. This time, he found himself in his room in the palace.
"What the hell?" Eden didn’t even waste time. He teleported again and found himself in the late-night marketplace.
He shook his head and cast another spell. He was in a brothel. And still in his robe.
All eyes in the brothel hall paused and stared at him, wondering about the madman that was walking around in a robe.
"Fuck," he muttered as he disappeared again.
"..." All in the brothel blinked in shock at the sight.
"Did you see what I just saw?" one asked.
"I’m sure we all saw it," another replied.
Eden appeared in a random cave, later in a desert, by the seaside, in a random battlefield where a sword was flying in his direction.
He disappeared immediately and finally found himself in a library.
He had a hand on his chest from the shock of the sword that almost claimed his head. But now, looking around the room, he could tell it was a library.
"Is this the place?" he wondered as he looked around. He desperately hoped it was Leo’s library because he was already tired of teleporting.
He slowly paced around for a while, making sure he didn’t make any noise since he was still uncertain about where he was.
Soon he caught a glimpse of light. A candle was gently lit at a corner, and he took a peep. He recognized the person sitting there as Leo, and then he smiled. "Finally made it."
Eden didn’t approach. He was there watching for a while before Leo suddenly stopped reading.
"You can come out now. You don’t have to hide," Leo suddenly said. And Eden knew he had been caught.
"I wasn’t hiding," Eden said, walking towards him. "I was just making sure I came to the right place."
Leo didn’t look up to him. He still had his eyes on his book. "And what are you doing here when you’re supposed to be sleeping?"
"I couldn’t sleep. So I came to see you." Eden now stood beside him, his eyes on the book Leo was reading. "What are you doing?"
"None of your business," Leo said coldly.
Eden hesitated. "You should also go to sleep. You need it."
Leo didn’t reply.
"You’re not talking to me, huh?" Eden stared at him as he placed a hand on his shoulder. Eden gently held onto his shoulder with his hands while leaning closer to his face from behind.
Soon, his chin was almost on Leo’s shoulder while Eden stared at the book. "It’s always a wrong idea to ignore me, you know that, right?"
"And it’s always a wrong idea to get so close to me. You know that, right?" Leo said, his eyes still on his book.
Eden scoffed as he brought a hand to pat Leo’s hair. "I came to keep you company here. So you should be grateful."
"I don’t need your company." Leo brushed off his hands and brushed him off. "So go back. I’ve already given the room to you, so at least let me have my rest."
Eden stared at him. "How can I leave a poor thing like you alone?"
Leo said nothing.
Eden shrugged as he brought out the figurine he picked up from Leo’s room. "Or maybe you’ll be interested in this little thing I picked up from your room."
Leo hesitated before he turned to see what Eden had in his hands.
He stiffened. Even though he was trying to play it cool, Eden could read the panic and mild shock on his face.
"How did you find that?" he questioned.
"In your room. Did you lose it?" Eden raised an eyebrow.
"Give it," Leo said. His expression was calm yet cold.
"Why? What are you doing with it? It’s a girl’s thing, so why do you have it?" Eden smiled at him. "Or is your taste this peculiar?"
"Give it now," Leo stated firmly.
"Make me." Eden stepped backwards.
This time Leo got up to his feet and turned to Eden.
Eden stepped backwards now with the figurine, and Leo walked towards him.
"I don’t have time to play along. So just give it to me."
Eden smiled. "I guess I don’t want to." Eden was heading backwards while Leo approached.
Eden intentionally misplaced his steps and then began falling backwards. He wanted to taste his luck with Leo, and it worked.
Leo reached out his hands and held him by the waist.
His huge hand held Eden tightly by his waist, holding him from falling as Leo stared into his face.
Their eyes locked as Eden smiled. "You really have attractive hands, My Lord."
"....." Leo still had the cold expression on as he reached out with his other hand and took the figurine from Eden’s hand.
"Hey, you..." Before Eden could talk, Leo had taken it from his hand.
And not only did he take it, he had also let go of Eden, and immediately Eden found himself crashing down to the floor with no support.
"Ouch." A bang was heard on the ground.
