Chapter 40: 40: The Grand Duke
The Grand Duke of Enor was the only Grand Duke in The Kingdom. A young man of 28 years old who had taken over the seat of the grand duke after the death of his father a while ago.
He was a calm figure. One of great intelligence. A scholar who stands as a patron in many educational institutions around the kingdom. And also has some educational institutions in his name.
He is also a lover of knowledge who is versed in all spheres of knowledge. He had read many books and has also written many.
His intelligence also extends to many sphere. Such as political areas where he is strategic in all things he did. He is smart and no one dared try outsmarting him in versatile areas of knowledge.
Amongst the audience of the book, he was seen as the least fan favourite. Because most suggested he had the most boring hobby and isn’t as over the top as other male leads.
They didn’t seem to like the smarty pants nerd he came off as compared to other exciting male leads.
But Eden had no problem with his character. In fact, he is the one male lead Eden found his character best written.
But in a situation like this where he himself was the villain, Eden didn’t find him the best male lead.
He was smart. Seemingly the smartest amongst them all. And so he wasn’t a safe person to be around.
"I have to go" Eden said "I’m not in the best mood"
"We just met" Leo said "And one of my people had almost run over you with their horse. You must be scared. So I think it’s only right I compensate.."
"No..." Eden interrupted him. "There’s no need for that at all. I’m okay. And I must really have to go.."
"I insist on compensating" Leo insisted "it’s my rule. So if you don’t mind..."
"I mind" Eden didn’t even know what he wanted to say. He didn’t wish to hear it "I really really really have to go sir" Eden’s stomach had started its parade again.
Sir? The Guards were stunned. It was disrespectful of Eden to use such a term for a grand duke like Leo!
But Leo didn’t seem to care. "You don’t look so good" he observed.
Eden had a hand over his stomach. "I’m perfectly fine. So if you excuse me..."
Eden ran past him. Heading to the restaurant.
Leo turned on his horse, watching Eden run into the restaurant ahead.
He sat there on his horse, calmly watching as Eden left.
"My Lord, You seem interested in him. Is there a reason?" His Valet, Damian, asked.
"I found him" Leo said "The infamous wizard of EL"
Damian was shocked "That’s.. that’s him? How did I not know? He looks... different...he looks... richer..?"
"So what are you going to do?" Damian asked.
Leo didn’t respond. He sat there watching Eden enter the restaurant.

Eden was finally done with his business in the toilet.
Now free and happy, he walked out. A bright smile on his face "Now this is life"
He happily walked out to make use of the exit. When suddenly, some group of men made their way into the restaurant.
All had their swords and weapons pointing at Eden. They had gathered him for an attack.
"What the hell is this?" Eden blinked, staring at them all.
"The wicked wizard of EL is finally within our reach" One said.
"Let’s take his head and have the Emperor grant us our wishes!" Another suggested.
"Exactly!" another agreed
They all cheered. Ready to attack Eden and take him down.
Eden panicked knowing that he was dead if they really did come for him. He was powerless and Elvis was nowhere to be seen.
"Damn, that stupid prince is not here when one needs him the most. What’s the point of making a deal" He mumbled as he drew back.
"Get that wicked monster!" One ordered.
"Wait!" But Eden snapped. Stopping them all.
"What?" They stood, their weapons ready for attack.
Now Eden stood confidently with a smirk as he stared at them all "Do you really think you can kill me?"
"Of course we can easily take you down. We’re many. You’re only one. You have nothing. So we can kill you off easily" One said.
Eden scoffed "How naive and dumb of you to think that you can. Don’t you know who I am? I am not a weak human being like you all"
Eden added "I’m an immortal. And you think you can kill me off with just those...?" He now laughed.
The men stood for awhile. Staring at each other while thinking about what Eden said.
"It’s true" Someone said "He has powers. What if he uses them on us?"
"Yes. And we are just humans..."
Eden smiled "You should think twice. Because if you piss me off, I’ll make sure I wipe you guys off the face of the earth. And then curse your generationa to come as well"
Eden was threatening them. Hoping they bought it and leave him alone!
"Don’t listen to him. The crown prince has sealed off his powers. So we can all take him down together" Their leader proposed.
"It’s true. We still stand a chance"
"Exactly. We’ll never know till we actually try"
They were all empowering themselves now. And Eden was just panicking. He was doomed.
"Get him now" The leader ordered as they charged towards Eden.
Eden slowly stepped backwards "I’m warning you now. Get away from me.. else I’ll destroy you all..." He raised his hands, threatening that he’d use his powers.
He had to think fast on how to escape.
The window? Rooftop? Anywhere!
"What’s this noise all about?" But someone’s voice came from the upper room of the restaurant. The room for important people.
Everyone paused at the voice that came from the room. All eyes went up to that room, including Eden’s eyes.
They were curious to know who was the very Important person that was willing to interfere with the task of capturing the wizard of EL.
