Chapter 36: 36: Table Teas
"You won the last time. So don’t let me down this time around. Make sure you win" The king instructed Elvis.
"Don’t worry. I’ll make sure I do" Elvis agreed.
Eden thought about this particular storyline in the book. It was also one of the vital scenes of the book.
It was one where Helen had somehow "accidentally" gotten lost in the woods where the haunting was being held.
In the original novel, she had gone missing in the woods during the haunting period and was found by one of the male leads - The Mage character.
The mage character wasn’t part of the haunting event, he happened to also be in the woods. And he had saved her from the danger of being eaten by a wild animal.
That was the first time they met. And obviously, like all the male leads in this novel, he had fallen for Helen at first sight!
It was also in this part of the novel that Helen met the last male lead - The prince (Not Elvis) who also attended the haunting event.
Eden had just realised that around this time of the storyline, Helen had already met the other male leads (Except for the Mage and other prince who she will meet at the haunting event)
She had met the Crown Prince first. And then casually met Adrian and The Grand Duke character causally on the Street.
Eden believed Helen was a male lead attractor because all she needed to do was stand on the streets buying some cabbage and the plot would throw her a male lead.
And as expected, the first three male leads she already met had fallen for her at first sight. Although The Grand Marquis and The Grand Duke had only met her like once. Or twice?
Elvis was the only one who had met her many times. The one who had so far taken the initiative to pursue her activity.
And that was what all male leads were gonna do at this haunting event according to the original storyline.
It was at this mark that she met them all. And then they would now actively begin pursuing Elvis after discovering Elvis had announced liking her.
It was a vital storyline in the book. But too bad, Eden knew already he was going to be there. And was obviously going to ruin the plotline somehow.
Although he didn’t know yet if Helen would miraculously get lost in the woods like the original story, but he was sure he wasn’t going to let her shine.
King Edward continued "And again... The Prince will be returning soon. Before the haunting obviously"
Queen Lea smiled "Yes. My lovely son is going to return after doing useful royal duties in another city and helping poor people there"
Queen Lea bragged as though Elvis had been wasting his time while staying here.
"So sequel to that, we shall be holding a banquet to celebrate his return and congratulate him on performing his first official royal function" The King explained.
Eden knew this scene. It was around the time when the other male lead was introduced. The Prince and a brother to Elvis from another mother.
He was the son of Queen lea. A son of the second wife of the king.
"Don’t worry. I’ll also handle the arrangements for his banquet. I’ll make sure it goes well" Elvis assured.
"Of Course you should. It’s my dear son so don’t even make any silly mistakes. Understood?" Queen lea cautioned.
Eden looked up at Queen lea.
She was a character who somehow wanted her son to become the king in the future instead of Elvis the crown prince.
The King favoured her as the second wife. And even favoured her son as well more than Elvis. So it seemed like it was possible for her to achieve her aim of making her son Prince.
But the funny thing stopping her plan from even progressing was the fact that her dear son wasn’t even interested in the position. The youth just wants to be free.
The novel was still ongoing, so Eden didn’t know if she succeeded in her plans of placing her son on the throne instead of Elvis.
But Eden guessed it was possible since Elvis seemed like one to give up the throne to be with Helen. Tacky.
Eden now stared at Elvis who casually kept nodding to the orders of The King and Queen who kept treating him like a servant.
He was familiar with this side of him from the novel. Elvis was always dominating in front of people, but was more like a servant Infront of these two.
"Poor thing" Elvis mumbled as he continued eating, while listening to Queen Lea’s endless blabbing about how perfect she wants her son’s ceremony to be.
They were done with that phase of discussion, the meal was almost done. And so King Edward added.
"And remember the task you’re to attend to today. Go to the Duchy (City) Of Enor and make sure you obtain that. The Grand Duke of Enor will be there to assist you" The King explained.
"Sure. I’ll get it done before today runs out" Elvis promised.
Eden stopped eating for awhile as he thought about the familiar title - The Grand Duke of Enor.
It was one of the male leads of this novel. He couldn’t believe he was going to meet another male lead soon.
Another person who actively wants his head.
"You’ll have to" The King said "It’s something important to me. So don’t mess it up" The King emphasised.
They were almost done with their meal when The Imperial Princess Cordelia stormed into the dining room.
She held her dress firmly as she entered. It was obvious that she had ran to this place.
Cordelia panted softly as she looked around the dining room. "What is happening here?"
They were all confused as they stared at each other and then at Cordelia.
"Your Imperial Highness, Is anything wrong?" The King asked, worried.
