Chapter 90: Chapter 90 Pregnant!!!

Before he could go up the stairs, he heard a call.

"Right here, Dan," Xyle’s voice called his attention.

Holding the food tightly, he approached and saw Xylander seated at a corner like the king he was, a cheerful look on his face. At the opposite side sat Draven, waiting for the meal as well—and speak of the devil.

Alexander was at the edge, wearing a look as if he hadn’t just uttered severely sinful words in the kitchen, words that still left Daniel rattled in ways he couldn’t describe.

"Why is Daniel shivering? Is he cold?" Draven asked, noticing how Daniel’s hands shook continuously. But being the very reason for it, he just shrugged.

"Who knows, maybe he encountered something delicious in there." Alex winked, giving him a side-eye that made Daniel’s heartbeat accelerate.

You’re losing yourself, Daniel. All because of a man—nope, control it. Just walk in there and hand over the food. Nothing bad is going to happen.

Finally, Daniel arrived at the huge dining table, setting the flasks of food in the middle along with several plates and utensils.

Xylander, who had been monitoring the exchange between Draven and Alexander, could tell by Alex’s playful tone that something had happened in the kitchen. Something scandalous Daniel was too embarrassed to share—but it wouldn’t end there. After supper, he would want to know exactly what transpired.

The aroma of the food spread through the room the moment Daniel opened the flasks. All the men inhaled deeply and sighed in satisfaction.

"Oh, that’s great—we’re having the best meal of our lives." Draven chimed in excitedly.

Daniel began dishing out portions, placing them on plates and moving them one by one. When he reached Ruth, he caught her staring intensely at him.

"Care to eat, doctor?" Daniel asked. Ruth nodded, and the plate was passed to her. She then glanced at Alex, locking eyes with him, and snapped her fingers angrily, promising vengeance.

Their eyes exchanged messages in silence, but Alex, seeing her rage, didn’t care. He knew Ruth would be furious with him—but what were friends for?

"Draven, this is your portion. Since you’re unwell, yours should be bigger," Daniel muttered, sliding a massive plate of food to him with an extra-large chunk of turkey.

Alexander’s eyes snapped to Draven’s turkey, then to the small piece on his own plate.

"That’s not fair, Daniel! I know he had an operation, but what about us who looked after him?" Alex pouted. His attempt to act cute was so hilarious that Xylander nearly spit out his food from laughter.

"God, Alex, your face doesn’t do cute. Go back to being mature—it’s horrendous." Xylander kept laughing uncontrollably.

Ruth agreed, shaking her head. Why try to have a baby face? Leave cuteness to those born with it.

"Alexander, you’re not a kid anymore. Stop frustrating the young man’s life—just eat your food and behave." Ruth scolded, sounding like she had been forced into babysitting a grown man.

Still sulking, Alex refused to eat. Daniel saw the others eating happily, showering praises on his cooking—especially Draven and Xylander, who were so engrossed he worried they might choke.

"Careful, boys. We don’t want another medical treatment," Daniel warned jokingly. His humor quickly turned to annoyance with Alexander.

Who the hell created such a man? Because at this point, Daniel doubted it was the same God who created everyone else.

"Okay, now I see age doesn’t come with behavior. Please, Alexander, eat your food." Daniel pleaded softly, playing the role of a weary mother.

Ruth kept smiling to herself. Even though she was still annoyed her free day had been ruined, she couldn’t deny that staying with this group of men was fun. Every comment they made was hilarious.

"Just let him be, Dan. When he’s ready, he’ll eat." Ruth said, keeping her eyes on Daniel. Something in her expression lingered.

Is it just me, or does he look weak and exhausted... almost like—

Her thought was cut short when Draven suddenly dragged Alexander’s plate away and snatched the turkey.

Alex shot to his feet instantly, eyes burning with mischief. "Give me my turkey, young man!"

Daniel stood shocked at the level of their childish banter. They seemed to be getting along far too well.

"Can you both sit your damn asses down?! Just imagine if the family saw you like this—isn’t it a shame?" Daniel tried to mediate, but it only got worse. Even sickly Draven was wrestling for turkey.

Unbelievable. It wasn’t like they were poor or in desperate need of meat. They were just dragging it for sport.

Ruth wasn’t surprised. Alexander had always been shameless, even in high school. Nothing shocked her anymore.

Eventually, Alex managed to snatch back half the turkey—only to find Draven had already taken a huge bite from the meatiest part. Alex frowned at his pitiful half.

"My turkey???" He looked ready to sulk again.

Before he could make another joke, Daniel began to feel nauseous. Weakness and dizziness consumed him, and this time he couldn’t hide it. He staggered, dropping the plate he held.

Clank!!!

The loud crash drew everyone’s attention immediately. Xylander and Alexander both jumped up.

"Dan, are you okay??" Despite everything, the moment he looked unwell they dropped everything. Even Draven, injured ankle and all, clutched the table edge, eyes full of concern.

"Dan, was it the noise?" Draven asked, wondering if he’d been overwhelmed.

But the situation worsened as Daniel staggered toward the sink and began vomiting violently. Alex and Xyle rushed to him.

Alex rubbed his back gently, trying to comfort him and steady him, while Xyle hurried to bring water to wash his face.

Daniel’s eyes were red from strain, and though he rinsed his face, the vomiting wouldn’t stop. That was when Ruth’s attention was fully called.

"Ruthie, please help him!" Alex begged desperately.

Ruth, already knowing where this was heading, just sighed. "No need to check. I know the problem," she announced firmly.

Draven limped closer, alarmed, as Daniel swayed side to side from weakness.

"Are you sure he should’ve been cooking or doing anything today? He looks so tired," Draven said, worry etched on his face. Secretly, he blamed himself—he had been the most affected during his accident, and Daniel had nearly collapsed when he was rushed into the ICU. The effect of the mark from when they reunited during his attack might have been too much.

"Treat him, lady! Isn’t he in danger?" Draven demanded fearfully.

All of them surrounded Daniel, crowding him so much it only made his condition look worse.

"You people need to give him some air. It’s just his body adjusting—he’s fine," Ruth explained calmly.

Xylander narrowed his eyes, doubtful of her medical skills. "Are you sure you’re even a doctor? Or just a quack?"

"Enough doubting my skills," Ruth snapped. "These are pregnancy symptoms. Daniel—your husband here is three weeks pregnant."

Her words froze the entire room. The silence was so heavy a pin drop would’ve echoed.

"Two weeks going to three!" Ruth clarified.

Draven didn’t even wait to hear the rest. Before Ruth could finish, he fainted dramatically, collapsing to the ground completely dazed.
