Chapter 86: Set in Motion

Chapter 86: Set in Motion

Hours passed with Isabella and me together. When she finally stopped drinking my blood, I realized she had fallen asleep. There was a satisfied smile on her face as she slept in my arms. If it wasn’t for my supernatural healing, I would’ve died a hundred times over from blood loss.

She looked peaceful as she slept. The two of us had a lot to discuss, but for now, I decided to enjoy the peaceful moment we had. I stared up at the sunset with Isabella in my arms, and before I knew it, I started to doze off too.

I didn’t know for how long I was out, but I was awakened by a massive surge of bloodlust. I quickly opened my eyes, and what I saw was the silhouette of a young woman standing over me. It took a few seconds for my eyes to adjust to the darkness, but when they did, I recognized the person standing over us.

"Selthia?"

It was Selthia; her eyes were murderous and glowing a deep shade of orange. Just then, Isabella, who was sleeping soundly, began to stir from her peaceful slumber as her eyes slowly opened. Immediately, her eyes met Selthia’s.

"Huh? Who are you?"

Selthia’s eyebrow twitched when she heard that question, and she instead refocused her attention on me.

"Darling, you said you would take me hunting. It’s been hours since then." Selthia spoke, trying to tone down the anger in her voice, but it was to no avail.

"Darling?" Isabella mumbled, trying to figure out why Selthia had called me that. From the look on her face, I could tell she was beginning to piece things together. "Liam, who is she?"

"This is Selthia," I answered. "She will be a part of our pack from now on."

"Our pack? She is joining the Lycann pack?" Isabella asked.

"Not exactly. I’m building my pack, and Selthia here is our fourth member."

"What?!" Isabella looked at me in disbelief. "Wait, what do you mean fourth? Is there someone else?"

"Yes, her name is Sylvie. You might know her as the moon princess. She is also my fated mate."

"Wait a second, you don’t mean the same moon princess from the Nyx pack? The same moon princess who had killed countless werewolves?"

"Sylvie is different from how the stories make her out to be. You’ll understand when you meet her," I explained.

Even though I had just explained it, it seemed it was taking Isabella a while to wrap her head around the whole situation as she stared out of space with her jaw slightly hung open.

I then turned to Selthia, who still seemed quite upset. I opened my arms and made space for her beside me.

"Come have a seat beside me," I said.

She bit her lips in frustration and grumpily took a seat beside me.

"You promised," she grumbled as I slowly began stroking her head.

"I’m sorry, I lost track of time. But since I’ve rested up a little, I can still take you hunting if you want."

"Really!" Hearing that, all her earlier anger seemed to disappear.

"Yes, I’ll still take you hunting after this."

"Tell me everything that happened since you were gone," Isabella said.

"A lot has happened..."

Isabella listened attentively as I recounted everything that happened since I left. I told her about how I met Sylvie and how she agreed to be a part of my pack. I even told her about Roran, how I killed him. When she heard that part of the story, her eyes widened in shock.

"You really killed your uncle, the alpha. If Kaelen or Lyanna finds out... They really loved their father a lot. I don’t think they will take the news of him passing well. Your mother too must be devastated."

"You better not tell anyone," Selthia warned, which immediately caused a frown to appear on Isabella’s face.

"Don’t be stupid, of course I won’t tell anyone. Anyway, what do you plan to do now?"

"The Nyx pack plans to attack on the night of the full moon. I plan to face them head on."

"Yes, but what about our pack?" Isabella asked. "If you’re planning to create your own pack, then there is bound to be some complications. And the chances of them choosing you over Kaelen to be the alpha is slim to none."

"Don’t worry, I’ll handle it. That’s actually the easiest part out of all this."

"Easy?!" Isabella’s lips twitched. "I don’t see how any of it will be easy. Kaelen is the one going to become alpha, and he’s most likely going to have the backing of your mother and grandfather. And don’t you dare say you plan to kill him because that will only make things worse. Unless you’re planning to rule as a tyrant or something, or you’ll have to think of something else."

"Don’t worry about it. I can handle it," I said.

"You might not know this, but Liam is very smart. I bet he has already come up with a plan of how he’s going to take control of the pack." Selthia quickly came to my rescue.

Everything Isabella said was true in a sense, but her problem was that she was looking at things too single-mindedly. She forgot that people were like pieces on a chessboard. They can easily be manipulated to your will. No one was set in stone.

I had spent a few weeks with the people of the Lycann pack, but I think I knew their personalities pretty well. I just needed to line up everything perfectly so it all falls into place. The next five days will be crucial for this.

I didn’t bother telling Selthia and Isabella the plan I had in mind since there were no details to share, just a rough outline of things that needed to happen. The issue was how I would get them to happen.

"It’s getting late. We should go for that hunt and call it a night," I suggested to Selthia, to which she promptly nodded. Resting her head against my shoulders, it seemed she had forgotten about the hunt.

"Well, umm... I’ll join you guys," Isabella suddenly said, avoiding eye contact.

I had the feeling she didn’t want to be left out. The moment she said that, Selthia looked a little displeased.

"Hmph! You’ll just get in the way, but if you want to tag along and be a third wheel, then be my guest."

A crooked smile rose on Isabella’s face from hearing that.

"You..."

I ignored their bantering for the most part, and the three of us went hunting. After a fruitful hunt, we went back home.
