Nyanmeilong waved enthusiastically at Bai Ye, seeking praise.
Bai Ye smiled and waved back, signaling Nyanmeilong to jump down and catch him.
After landing, Bai Ye patted Nyanmeilong's head as a reward before recalling it to its beast-taming ball.
The surroundings were already in chaos, caused by the sudden appearance of a falling body.
While there was already unease due to the commotion near Hongmen Bridge, this area was a little distance away, so panic hadn't fully set in. The unexpected corpse, however, became the last straw, with screams erupting everywhere and people fleeing in all directions.

Bai Ye asked, "Where's Alex?"

Jin Sha explained, "That Muk in Cang Long Hui's possession was intercepted. But just as they were about to succeed, a Chosen One suddenly attacked Cang Long Hui. Then, unexpectedly, Muk threw Alex into the river."
Bai Ye queried, "Was there backup on the water?"
"Yes!" Jin Sha confirmed. "It should be Alex's beast tamer. They had a Lapras arranged on the water, a water-type beast capable of moving on water, to ferry Alex across. However, halfway through, they were intercepted by several speedboats, and it turned into a fierce battle. Alex seemed to have been snatched, but not long after, their yacht was hit by a rocket launcher. They jumped into the river beforehand, and now they're nowhere to be seen... Wait, I see them. They're climbing towards the bridge with Alex."
Bai Ye could feel the excitement just by listening.
This was a true free-for-all.
This was a practical problem.
Cang Long Hui had numbers and were escorting Alex to forcefully cross Hongmen Bridge. Naturally, the other Chosen Ones wouldn't be happy about it, but being unhappy didn't necessarily mean they'd act.

Bai Ye hung up the phone, Hongmen Bridge now within sight.
The police roadblocks had been broken, but the gunfire continued.
There were many reasons for the ongoing gunfire. Firstly, this chaotic battle didn't just involve the Chosen Ones; Alex, the major drug lord, had his own subordinates.
Alex's subordinates didn't care who was taking Alex away; they only knew they had to hold the bridge and help their boss escape the city.
Secondly, although the police roadblocks were breached, police personnel were still present, leading to a firefight between them and Alex's subordinates.
There were also members of other gangs who wanted to interfere, adding to the chaos.
Furthermore, the Chosen Ones were strategically positioning themselves to prevent Cang Long Hui from easily accessing the bridge.
Cooperation was out of the question, but among the other Chosen Ones, there were small groups of three to five people. After all, if they split a hundred million, each person would still get twenty million. These small groups would send one or two members to hold positions at the bridgehead and attack, preventing Cang Long Hui from crossing.
After all, they were competing amongst themselves, and everyone had a chance.
Once Cang Long Hui reached the bridge and snatched Alex, the situation would revert to how it was before. Who would want to confront so many people from Cang Long Hui head-on? Moreover, besides numbers, the individual strength of each member of Cang Long Hui was quite impressive.
