The feeling of suffocation quickly arrived, but Bai Ye did not panic. Instead, he drew the military knife from his calf and stabbed towards the opponent's neck.
With a *'poof'!*
Like the sound of rotten cloth being torn apart.
Blood instantly spurted from the opponent's neck, splashing to the side. The hands gripping Bai Ye's throat involuntarily loosened.
Bai Ye immediately raised his rifle, smashing the butt of the gun against the person's head, knocking them away. He then got up from the ground, stepped on the person's chest, and aimed the muzzle at the woman's head, firing several shots that blew her head apart.
The remaining two appeared enraged and charged towards Bai Ye from either side.
But before they could get close, Bai Ye raised his gun.
*Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang...*
As Bai Ye pulled the trigger, bullets poured forward, forcing them back.
"Come on!" Bai Ye shouted, "If you want to kill me, come!"
The two used the tables around them as cover, darting away rapidly before leaping and hiding behind the metal counter.
Bai Ye sneered, took a grenade, and loaded it into the grenade launcher.
*Boom!*
The next moment, the grenade arced through the air, hitting the front of the metal counter with a tremendous explosion.
Blazing flames erupted, transforming into a massive fireball, incredibly scorching.
Layers of heatwaves pushed outwards, and the moment they washed over, a burnt smell could be detected.
Bai Ye simultaneously unloaded the magazine, reloaded, and strode forward.
But just then, two figures suddenly darted out from the side of the counter, pushed open a metal door, and quickly entered the restaurant's kitchen.
Bai Ye pursued closely, arriving at the door and kicking it open with a powerful thrust.
A strong smell of blood instantly hit him, followed by a moment of stunned silence.
In the restaurant kitchen, two chairs were placed, with a man and a woman, both zombies, bound by steel wire. On the floor lay a large amount of碎骨 and碎肉, and the long-dried blood had dyed the floor a vibrant red.
The two zombies, upon seeing Bai Ye enter, their normally vacant eyes suddenly flashed with ferocity. They struggled incessantly, as if trying to break free from the wire and pounce on Bai Ye, emitting whimpers from their throats.
Bai Ye frowned, looking at the faces of the two zombies. Both appeared elderly, at least sixty or seventy years old. He suddenly understood.
This was a family!
The parents had both turned into zombies, but for some unknown reason, their child, though infected by the virus, had survived due to mutation. These children then tied up their zombie parents here, even going so far as to capture living people to feed them.
This explained the broadcast voice.
It was a trap. The perpetrator used a radio to send out broadcasts, luring people here to become food for their parents.
It seemed quite touching.
However...
What was it to him!
Bai Ye suddenly raised his gun, aiming at one of the zombies' heads, and said, "Do you love your parents very much? Then come out, or I'll blow their heads off."
After speaking, Bai Ye swept his gaze across the front again.
"You don't have much time to consider. I'll count to three..." The next moment, Bai Ye grinned, "Three!"
*Bang!*
The gunshot rang out, a bullet shooting from the muzzle and piercing directly through the temple of one of the zombies.
Almost instantly, the zombie stopped whimpering, its head tilted to the side, falling silent.
"My apologies!" Bai Ye spread his hands. "I forgot to count one and two."
As Bai Ye spoke, he aimed the gun at the other zombie's head.
"Don't worry!" Bai Ye said, "This time, I won't forget to count."
The two men could no longer stand it. One leaped out from behind the stove and lunged towards Bai Ye. The other opened a large oven, and another man rushed out, running on all fours like a wild beast, opening his mouth to bite at Bai Ye's ankle.
Then...
*Poof!*
The Frost Sword, like a silver light, shot out, hitting the lunging man. It struck his forehead, piercing through his head and cleaving half of his skull away.
Bai Ye, meanwhile, immediately turned and swept his leg, kicking the other man's head and sending him flying. Before the man could get up, Bai Ye had already aimed his gun at him.
*Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang...*
As Bai Ye pulled the trigger and fired, the man's body convulsed repeatedly. Bullets struck surrounding metal objects, scattering golden sparks and making 'ding-ding-dang-dang' sounds.
A moment later, after Bai Ye had emptied his magazine, the man lay in a pool of blood, completely lifeless.
Bai Ye reloaded his bullets, stepped over the碎骨, and returned to the last zombie. Then...
He raised his gun and fired!
*Bang!*
A bloody hole burst open on the zombie's forehead, and it toppled backward, chair and all.
Having finished, Bai Ye turned and left the kitchen, intending to return to the supermarket to continue searching for food.
Although he probably wouldn't find any gasoline, finding food and drink seemed like a good prospect.
But just as Bai Ye returned to the restaurant...
"Save, save me... whoever it is... please save me..."
Bai Ye stopped and looked towards the radio. A plea for help was coming from it.
But, so what?
Probably another unlucky soul deceived by the broadcast. He just didn't know if they were a chosen one like himself, or an indigenous inhabitant of the world battlefield.
Bai Ye had no interest in this. He merely paused for a moment and intended to move on.
"I'm on Highway 404, not far from Red Rock Mountain. There's a military green jeep next to me. Please, help me. I'm severely injured and can't drive to the gathering point..."
Bai Ye immediately stopped again!
A jeep? It could be driven?
Well, whether there was a jeep or not wasn't important. Whether the vehicle could be driven wasn't important either. And whether the person had gasoline was even less important.
What was important was that he was kind-hearted, virtuous, and helpful, and he absolutely could not stand to see others in difficulty. He would never do something like refuse to help those in need.
Bai Ye walked to the radio, picked up the walkie-talkie, and said, "Hello, can you hear me?"
The voice instantly became excited, shouting loudly, "Yes, yes, I can hear you, sir. Please save me. I'll be eternally grateful."
Bai Ye said, "I will save you, but I don't have enough gasoline for a round trip. Therefore, you will need to wait for a while. I need to collect gasoline before coming to rescue you."
