Chapter 49: SSS Rank Damage Reduction
"Um, no I can’t." Elena said with an awkward smile plastered on her face, "You’ll need to have at least 100 vitality to learn this. If not, there’s a high chance that your heart might explode."
Seeing everyone’s expressions drop, Elena panicked. Her brain instantly went on an overdrive as she opened her mouth in hopes of salvaging the situation.
"You can... um, right. Even if you have a hundred points in vitality, there’s a high chance of death. We elves are born from the Great Tree of Life so the ones who die are absorbed by the tree. Only the successful ones are born so every single elf that’s alive, has a mana heart."
Amon let out a soft sigh and nodded, "What’s the amount of vitality stat I’d need in order to reduce the risk to zero?"
"Three hundred should be a safe goal." Elena said hopefully when she saw him ask questions instead of giving up.
She then glanced at her system screen before scratching her cheek, "Um, husband?"
Amon snapped his head straight while his back did the same, making him look like he was sitting attentively.
"Yes..." he said softly as he kept his gaze straight, not daring to look at the other two while he felt his brother and Letty leave the room in silence.
’Right... even they can sense it.’
"The thing didn’t work. It says that the Head of the Family must pick one before me."
Amon raised his eyebrow and pulled up his system screens. It took him a few seconds but there it was, hidden with one of the many notifications he had gotten while his system underwent an upgrade.
[Congratulations! You have escaped your shackles of fate as the Emperor of Hell candidate!]
[You have received a slot for a new growth path in the area of Magic!]
Please select your third path.
[Void Abominations]
Void Demon: 1 Mana Stat Everyday + Passive Mana Efficiency
Void Golem: 1 Magic Start Everyday + Passive Mana Overload
’Hmm... I don’t even have skills that require magic power. Hmm... Mana Weaver needs mana so, I guess I’ll just pick Void Demon. Having efficiency is never a bad thing now, is it? Go, Void Demon.’
[Mana Efficiency (FFF): Decreases Mana usage by 5%]
"Alright done, you should be able to pick it." he said as he went through all the notifications he had gotten during the system upgrade, reading them one by one.
’So I can now use my mind points to upgrade the skills of everyone here... I can also use them for experience so I guess even when I max out all skills, I wouldn’t have to worry about not having places to spend them on.’ he mused as he tossed the screen away before moving onto the next one.
Yulan’s name appeared along with a question on what position to give him in the family.
’Slave.’
[Ding! Yulan has been appointed as the Family’s Slave.]
With a nod, he moved on to the next in an attempt to finish all the pending work.
’Changing Pov, switching between the characters? Oh everyone in the family can be considered a character huh? Wait, this can be a great surveillance method. After all, I can look at anyone’s pov and gain information. Hmm... alright, I’ll think about this later.’
As for the rest, they were just donations from his viewers and notifications. Ones that he had ignored for the past few weeks and now, they had piled up.
’Done... now mind points... so many! I’ve never felt this fucking rich... ugh. Should I spend them on my girls or... should I be selfish for a the last time?’ he thought as he stared at the number 7,019.
[Would you like to upgrade Damage Reflection to E+ Rank? Requires 25 Mind Points]
[Would you like to upgrade Damage Reflection to D Rank? Requires 25 Mind Points]
[... Damage Reflection... D+ ... 50 Mind Points]
[... Damage Reflection... C ... 50 Mind Points]
[... Damage Reflection... C+ ... 100 Mind Points]
[B ... 100 Mind Points]
[B+ ... 200 Mind Points]
[A ... 200 Mind Points]
[A+ ... 500 Mind Points]
[S ... 500 Mind Points]
[SS ... 1000 Mind Points]
[SSS ... 1000 Mind Points]
’3750 Mind Points gone just like that.... Nah, let’s keep going. The synergy with Lifesteal is going to be other worldly.’
In less than ten second, Amon brought his Lifesteal to SS rank, leaving his mind points balance at 519.
He exhaled heavily as he looked at his other skills; Mana Weaver, Last Survivor and lastly, Aura.
Last Survivor couldn’t be upgraded and Mana Weaver was at a B+ rank already which was pretty high. Only professional hunters had skills that were at a higher rank.
"Alright.. aura." he muttered as he multi-tasked, sending a notification to all his family members except the slave.
It had information on his system, everything about the streaming and the different points.
He took a quick glance at everyone and went back to his skills. He knew that he would get bombarded with questions in a few seconds.
’Let’s upgrade aura.... FF, F, E, E plus...’
A few seconds later, he stared at his balance that was at 139. There really wasn’t anything he could upgrade at the moment but his Aura had reached a satisfactory rank.
[Aura (B): Raise all stats by 40% by consuming 10mana/min]
[Lifesteal (SS): Recover 75% of the damage you deal as Health.]
[Damage Reflection (SSS): Reflects 80% of incoming damage, calculated from the damage you would take without considering your defense]
’Now what I need is damage. Other than Vladimir’s lightning that gives me shocking touch, I don’t really have great methods of dealing damage.’ he thought with a frown on his face.
He was currently in a messed up build with his stats leaning towards a tank while his skills leaned towards a bruiser, one that dealt damage and also soaked a lot of it.
"I need a damage skill... right, I still have my left over stat..." he muttered before he looked up at his girls, all of whom looked like they had questions but did not open their mouths.
He stared at them for a few seconds before asking, "Aren’t you guys going to ask me any questions? You know... maybe slap me for not telling you this before or something?"
