Chapter 449: Chapter 433: Joyful and Eerie Banquet

In a noble manor outside Langton, an extravagant banquet was underway.

Though the weather was cold, the blazing fireplaces, various heating facilities, and floor heating ensured that guests at the banquet wouldn’t feel cold even if they were naked.

In fact, to these people, hosting a naked winter gathering was no longer an exciting way to play.

Previously, they even tried hosting the banquet directly in the snow. If it weren’t for the difficulty in ensuring the food’s taste and the discomfort of snowflakes landing on their bodies, these people would genuinely hold such a morally and ethically subversive banquet outdoors.

After all, in the summer, they actually held banquets outdoors.

"...Oh, Boynes is dead, along with Yellen..." One noble was sitting by the table, enjoying his food, chatting with another guest nearby. Yet while chatting, he didn’t forget to reach under the table and give a pat: "Easy, baby."

"Boynes is insignificant, but Yellen..." The other guest was savoring the crimson liquid in his hand, his expression unreadable. However, after pondering for a moment, he shook his head: "Forget it, he’s not important either, as long as that little firecracker doesn’t learn about our existence and affect our plans."

Although there were quite a few people in the banquet hall, those qualified to sit at this table and enjoy the food were undoubtedly the true core members of their circle.

As for the others? Merely intoxicated by pleasure, they were but the backdrop and embellishment of this banquet, a part of the merriment for the true core members.

For the two by the table, they were merely tools to enhance their enjoyment of the atmosphere; who joined or left was trivial, even death didn’t matter much.

The only issue might be that their existence could not be known to the outside world.

"Boynes’ existence is indeed insignificant; although his wife is memorable, he’s not as adept as his son." The rotund noble adjusted his posture to enjoy himself more while speaking more clearly: "But Yellen... he was still useful to us; at least someone was needed to carry out that plan.

Now we must reselect an appropriate candidate to fill Yellen’s position, or the entire plan..."

"Indeed, Yellen isn’t important, the plan is," the guest couldn’t help but nod in affirmation of the rotund noble’s view: "However, Yellen was the most suitable candidate for the plan. With his death, it’s hard to find a replacement immediately."

Upon hearing this, the rotund noble’s brow furrowed, yet the muscles on his face twitched, revealing an odd mix of pleasure and frustration due to being unable to fully indulge in his desires owing to the affair at hand.

This feeling of being infatuated but unable to obtain made him relish the situation as he enjoyed himself, while not forgetting to ask the guest: "Don’t even you have a suitable candidate? Seems like it’s quite a troublesome matter! Should we consult others?"

Even for them, selecting a suitable candidate to replace the Priest, whom Perfikot had turned into a Holy Statue cos, wasn’t easy, especially since it concerned the smooth execution of their plans.

Though they were confident Perfikot wouldn’t trace it back to them, evading Perfikot’s investigation was not the be-all and end-all as their plans were not simply complete with that.

While the two were troubled, an elegant lady with a dignified presence gracefully approached, softly asking them: "Gentlemen, have you encountered any trouble? If necessary, feel free to confide in me!"

The lady wore a red garment, holding a golden cup, though the cup contained not wine but some kind of white liquid.

Though in appearance, temperament, and tone, this lady seemed very sophisticated, being the only dressed person in the massive banquet hall did not make her seem out of place with the atmosphere.

After all, her attire made from the lightest transparent material was only draped over her chest with two tiny metal rings, and she was holding two chains in her hand, each connected to a boy and girl’s neck.

On close inspection, the boy and girl’s appearance displayed an astonishing likeness, as if they were twins molded from the same cast.

As the lady prepared to sit by the table, the male among the boy-girl pair spontaneously acted as a chair, kneeling by the table face-up, as the lady sat on his face.

While the female straddled the male, pressing her head against the lady’s abdomen.

"Lady Babalon, Yellen is dead, we need a new candidate to take charge of the upcoming plan. Do you have any recommendations?" The guest looked at the lady, his gaze clear, unaffected by the scene’s ambiance, using his dining utensils intermittently to fetch food from the plate.

"It’s indeed troubling, Yellen was meticulously selected by us, albeit a trivial role, yet the position and ensuing plan are crucial to us," Lady Babalon petted the girl’s beautiful blonde hair beneath her and asked: "Dear, who do you think between your brother and father is better suited for this task?"
