Chapter 495: Volume 6 Chapter 4 You Shouldn’t Have Provoked Her (Part 1)

"What’s going on?"

The sound of gunfire from downstairs made Ritter’s face change, and he immediately asked through the communicator.

"Two Leray soldiers came in, along with two women. They’re clearing the area." The assassin farthest from Milan and the others was half-hidden behind a pillar, whispering.

At this moment, the hall was deathly silent. The energy assault rifles in the hands of the Leray Warriors were like two vipers. The man in the suit was almost completely riddled with bullets. He lay on the ground with his eyes wide open, blood slowly spreading beneath his contorted body.

"Clear the area!" Ritter gritted his teeth. According to the original plan, such a situation should have occurred at least five minutes later. From the start, he never intended to trap himself in the hotel; the warriors stationed below were meant to cover their retreat.

Unless absolutely necessary, do not expose the target - this was the established strategy from the beginning. But unexpectedly, problems arose on their side, and on top of that, some Cheng Yaojin showed up out of nowhere – two Leray Warriors daring to clear the area below!

At this moment, with the plan falling apart, the choices were either for the warriors below to retreat hastily, abandoning the assassination and leaving immediately, or to gather their forces, use the hotel as a base, and resist until they could capture Fatty as a hostage!

Ritter glanced at the tightly closed door of the adjacent hotel room, imagining his father’s killer just a door away. Gritting his teeth, he said, "Kill them, everyone retreat into the hotel. In a bit, I’m going to make them help us get out!"

"Yes!"

"Wait!" Ritter suddenly had a thought, "The ones downstairs, are they two Leray soldiers?"

"Yes, young master."

"And two women?"

"Yes!" The Family Warrior understood what Ritter wanted to know and continued, "The two soldiers escorted those two women in!"

"Hmph!" A sinister smile appeared on Ritter’s face, "Kill the soldiers, capture those two women alive!" After speaking, he raised his energy gun and repeatedly shot at the electronic lock and thick soundproof wooden door of the adjacent hotel room, blasting them to pieces with energy bullets.

"Charge in!" Ritter commanded sharply.

**********

Just as Ritter fired, intense gunfire also erupted in the hotel lobby downstairs.

The first to open fire were not the Howard Family Warriors in the lobby, but the two Leray soldiers. When they noticed a dozen people approaching the hotel from outside, and the subtle movements of a few men with strange expressions opposite them, they immediately fired without hesitation.

The fierce firepower of the Clement Automatic Assault Rifle instantly took down four people standing in the center of the lobby. The remaining Howard Family Warriors either dove or leapt to find cover. They had no chance to use the energy pistols in their hands, as the sweeping energy bullets pinned them down.

As concrete and wood chips flew, the entire hotel lobby quickly became a chaotic mess. Sofas, glass curtain walls, wooden service counters, information service devices, clocks, even the green plants in the lobby and luggage handling robots, were all shattered.

It wasn’t until a dozen Howard Family Warriors with drawn guns rushed in from outside the hotel that the two Leray Warriors, covering each other, pulled Milan and Nia into the stairwell on the right side of the lobby. Only then did the hotel lobby, trembling in the hail of gunfire, catch a breath.

"Damn it! Watch the upper levels of Stairwell A, they’re coming up." Bald, hiding behind a pillar, clutched his bleeding arm and shouted into the communicator. After calling out, he yelled at the dozen or so Family Warriors who had just rushed into the lobby, "Set up a blockade point here immediately. Block the back door, the corridors on both sides. Four of you, take the surveillance room first." He pointed at a few people and continued, "You, come with me. The young master said capture those two women alive!"

*******

When Ritter and his men charged into the adjacent hotel room, he could never have imagined that the person he was looking for was actually in the bedroom they had just searched next door.

Fatty was stealthily taking clothes out of the wardrobe. After looking around and comparing, he concluded that Bonnie couldn’t wear the long dress. He handed her one of his own shirts and then hurriedly started putting clothes on himself.

Bonnie quickly put on Fatty’s shirt, revealing a pair of enticing legs, listening quietly. Ritter’s furious shouts came from the adjacent room. Immediately, a series of chaotic footsteps echoed in the corridor. After several gunshots and the sound of doors being kicked open, the entire eleventh floor fell into chaos with the guests’ screams.

The bedroom door and the door to the hotel room’s living room were open. They could clearly hear the assassins moving frantically through the corridor, breaking into each room. The continuing shouts and roars only highlighted the quiet and calm in the bedroom.

Bonnie was still a little dazed. A few minutes ago, when Fatty rushed onto the balcony wearing nothing but a pair of shoes and then pulled her, only in her underwear, under the dining table, she knew something was wrong. However, she didn’t understand why she and Fatty were completely ignored while hiding under the dining table. Could it be because Fatty kept mumbling "You can’t see me, you can’t see me!"?

A woman’s scream pierced the air, and after a gunshot, the scream abruptly ended. Ritter’s frantic shouts had changed in tone.

"Is that Ritter?!" Bonnie still recognized his voice. The Howard family and Bonnie’s family were old friends. Just over a year ago, Bonnie danced with this calm and composed Royal Guard Colonel at Princess Susan’s birthday ball.

Ritter’s voice grew louder, filled with rage and disbelief.

The army had already arrived at the hotel. Through the communicator, they could hear the crazed shouts of the warriors and the dense gunfire below. But he still hadn’t found his target. Now he was in a dire situation. If he didn’t find that damned Fatty, he had no leverage to negotiate with the army!

"It’s that little bastard!" Fully dressed, Fatty peeked cautiously around the bedroom door.

"How come they can’t see us?" Bonnie looked at the thin dining table outside the living room, her curiosity piqued. She didn’t understand what kind of magic Fatty had used.

"It’s a secret!" Fatty’s voice was smug.

"Tell me!" Bonnie giggled, poking Fatty’s back with her white fingers. Despite the killers led by Ritter searching the corridor just a hall away, Bonnie felt at ease with Fatty around, not worried at all.

She couldn’t believe anything could stump this know-it-all Fatty. They had been through more dangerous moments together.

"Just a magic trick." Fatty pointed to the dining table in the living room and said, "Have you seen a magician perform on a table, disappearing and reappearing suddenly?"

Bonnie nodded.

"Human vision isn’t always accurate," Fatty smiled, "Sometimes, seeing isn’t believing. This trick plays on the illusion that the table is thin, although the edges where we cling seem only five centimeters wide, the actual table width gives us enough space to hide under it. They wouldn’t expect two people to be hiding under a seemingly thin dining table!"

Bonnie snickered, pushing Fatty, "Who’s big? You’re the big one!"

Fatty gazed down at his crotch, grinning lewdly and wiggling his eyebrows at Bonnie. An understanding look spread across his face.

Bonnie gritted her teeth indignantly, but then she saw Fatty’s expression become serious as he made a silent gesture.

Listening intently, a fierce gunfight erupted. Fatty’s ears perked up as he muttered, "Stairwell in building one, four Ivanov A2011 energy pistols on the eighth floor, two Clement automatic assault rifles at the seventh-floor landing... Our people have arrived?"

Bonnie stuck out her tongue. Eavesdropping was an advanced skill for special soldiers. As the regiment commander of the Mythical Army, she wasn’t bad at it. But in comparison with Fatty, Bonnie realized she had much to learn!

"Something’s wrong!" Fatty’s face grew serious, "Someone’s firing Ivanovs on the sixth floor. How did they get ambushed?"

Listening for a moment, as the gunfire intensified, Fatty’s expression shifted dramatically, "Long-range energy compression, six cycles per second, it’s Milan!" No sooner had he spoken than Ritter’s roar echoed from the corridor, "Hiding won’t work! Everyone to the stairwell, capture those two women!" After a burst of footsteps, Ritter’s voice turned even more malicious, "Once I capture your people, let’s see how long you can hide!"

"Two women?" Bonnie looked at Fatty’s glittering eyes in shock. She vaguely guessed who the women with the Leray warriors might be!

Fatty fell silent, retrieving a disposable toothbrush from the bathroom. He stuck it into the heater’s warm air nozzle, and in seconds, the non-toxic plastic handle melted. With swift movements, Fatty molded the end into a conical shape, cooled it with water, and gripped it firmly.

"No matter what happens, stay here and don’t move!" Fatty pulled Bonnie into the bathroom, his voice steady.

Bonnie stared at Fatty, seeing the playful glint in his eyes turn to icy coldness. She nodded obediently, watching Fatty slink out of the bedroom like a cat.
