Chapter 81. Kill the boredom

Chapter 81: 81. Kill the boredom

Riki leaned back in his chair, staring at Jake with a look of confused.

"You seem very surprised. Why would you be surprised if I bought the hotel? You know I already bought this building... so I don’t think it’s strange," said Riki.

Jake sighed deeply, "Well, I guess it’s not strange."

Finally, Jake sat down in the chair in front of Riki, his expression turning serious. This made Riki even more confused.

"You know who owns Oceanica, right, boss? It belongs to a man who is ranked third richest in our country. The hotel is quite old, but it can still be considered new, having been built about seven years ago. And Oceanica Hotel easily became the most luxurious and expensive hotel with an exclusive feel. It requires reservations at least a month in advance for the cheapest rooms, but it takes up to a year to book the most luxurious rooms. Did you know this?"

Riki cleared his throat for a moment, then said, "Actually, no, I don’t know much. You can continue your explanation."

Jake’s brow furrowed upon hearing this. How could Riki buy something without thinking about it first? How much money did Riki have that he could easily buy something like the most luxurious hotel in the country? It seemed that Riki’s name would be among the ten richest people next year.

"Oh, okay. Because the hotel was so luxurious, the third richest man in the country couldn’t handle it, so he sold it. Even so, two years later, no one had bought the hotel. But some people said that wasn’t the reason the man sold it. Rumors were spreading everywhere. People have started to speculate about it. And suddenly you bought it? That’s incredible, you know? Maybe you don’t realize how incredible it is, huh?"

Riki’s expression became even more confused, which frustrated Jake.

"Is it really that extraordinary, Jake?"

"Of course, Riki—I mean, boss... could it be that you’re the richest person in the country?"

Riki laughed when he heard this, "Hahaha, of course not, I’m probably only number two. Number one is too much, you know. Look at me, I’m very simple like this."

Jake smiled slightly, he really admired his boss. Riki may still be young, he is even still learning about business. But sadly, he is even far greater than other bosses out there. As far as Jake knows, some of the people on the list of the richest people have had scandals.

Their scandals are also mostly about their employees’ salaries.

Some had delayed paying their employees’ salaries, leading to protests from their staff. Others had been sued for paying salaries that were not commensurate with the work required. There were also conglomerates that had scandals about never paying taxes. Others had scandals involving money laundering and corruption.

Of course, not all of them were like that.

However, according to Jake, Riki was extraordinary. He never paid his employees arbitrarily; he paid them according to what they could do. He always paid for building facilities and other expenses on time. Riki was also never lazy about paying taxes. In fact, Jake was sometimes surprised to see how much Riki liked to spend money.

To the point where Jake couldn’t worry about Riki’s excessive spending. Because it seemed that the more Riki spent, the more money he had.

Does that make sense? Of course not, but that’s just how Riki is.

"Jake? Why are you so quiet and lost in thought?" Riki flicked his finger in front of Jake’s face. After calling out to him several times, Jake remained silent and didn’t answer.

Jake shook his head, "No, I’m just amazed by you."

Riki laughed when he heard this, "Oh my gosh, I’m the one who should be impressed with you. I only have a lot of money. But look at you, you handle all of my business ideas, find the right people to work for me, and even implement some of those ideas. You’re amazing. That’s why I hired Twaila to work with you, to lighten your workload. But don’t worry, your salary will remain the same, and I’ll even raise it later."

Hearing this, Jake became excited, "Are you sure, boss? So, Twaila will always work with me?"

Riki furrowed his brow, "Of course not, you two will work together. She will do some of the work, and you will do the rest. But you can decide for yourselves whether to work together or split it up. You know best, right? But remember, don’t mess with Twaila."

"Got it, boss!"

Riki laughed, very happy that he had made the right choice. Jake was extraordinary. If it weren’t for the system, Riki would never have met Jake.

"In that case, since I have class tomorrow, you and Twaila visit the Oceanica Hotel, okay? Report back on the situation there later."

"Yes, boss!" Jake put his hand on his forehead, saluting Riki, who then gave him a gentle kick on the leg.

"Don’t overdo it, do you think I’m your captain?"

"Yes, Captain Riki!"

Riki clicked his tongue in annoyance, but then laughed along with Jake.

***

Riki couldn’t stop laughing that night, as Twaila danced around in front of him in her small form. The fairy looked very adorable and entertaining.

It was very different from when Twaila turned into a human.

In her fairy form, she was very cute and adorable, but in her human form, Twaila was still adorable, but she also looked like a supermodel.

Riki was more comfortable seeing Twaila in her small fairy form, flying in front of him like a dragonfly.

Riki was still chuckling when the tired fairy rested in front of him. She sat on a tissue box, waiting for Riki, who had not finished his college assignment.

"Are you going to be long, master?" asked Twaila.

Riki nodded, "Yes, just a moment. Don’t bother me, I’ll finish this myself. You go ahead, you can play with Sofie or something."

Twaila shook her head, "There’s no one else in this apartment but the two of us, master. Sofie and Selene are still at the mansion. As for Sean, he’s gone with Deva to sell his old apartment, which isn’t safe from those fans."

Riki nodded. He remembered that Sofie and Selene had chosen to return to the mansion because there were several servants there. Besides, according to Selene, Sofie was mentally unstable, so she had to be healed first in a comfortable environment. Since the mansion was near the beach, they decided to stay there. Riki didn’t mind because there were many servants and security guards who took good care of them.

Besides, even though Selene was very beautiful and looked petite, she was strong enough to fight someone off. She had learned martial arts, so she said she would kick the ass of any jerk who bothered her.

"So, I’m alone, huh? Why does it feel so lonely?" Riki muttered. He had finished his college assignments, so he realized that the apartment was very quiet.

He called Evan, but it turned out that Evan was very busy. Evan, Angeline, and Daniel were still at the office discussing some work related to the construction of a park.

According to Evan, there were many interested customers. But because there were too many requests, they had to turn some of them down. It turned out that they didn’t want to be rejected; they were willing to wait in line for a long time just to have Little Heaven build their gardens.

Riki lay down on his bed. He felt really lonely.

Usually, he was always surrounded by many people, and he complained about it. It turned out that after being alone, Riki began to feel empty. He was used to being around many people.

There was a message from Celine, inviting him to dinner again. However, Riki had to refuse. He didn’t want Celine to fall even more in love with him.

As Angeline had said before, if you don’t really like someone, you can’t force a relationship with that person. Because it will only hurt one or even both of you.

[How about you just do the mission, master?]

"If it involves dead people, I don’t want to."

[No, don’t you have a key to go to another world? How about exploring another world to kill boredom?]

Riki immediately sat up, looking more excited than before.

"I want to! How do I use the key?"

[Just hold the key and say "open" and a secret door will appear]

Riki took out the key, said "open," and the door immediately appeared.

When Riki held the doorknob, he felt the door glow for a moment, then he was able to open it.

When he opened the door, he was already in the forest.

[Your mission for today is not hunting, but exploring the city of Arendale!]

[If you walk around the city and buy ten items with your gold coins, the mission is complete!]

[Twaila will guide you in Arendale]

[Your reward is an additional 300 gold coins]

[Have fun!]

[Oh, I almost forgot, this is your identity in this world]

A gold-colored card appeared. It says Riki’s name, and Riki’s occupation is adventurer and merchant. Just like in the modern world, identity is definitely important.

Twaila returns to her human form, 170 cm tall, but this time her wings remain on her shoulders.

"Are you ready, master?" asks Twaila.

Riki nods, "I’m more than ready."
