Chapter 704: This Thing is Prickly!

Not long after, Jiang Feng was once again escorted into a moving vehicle, lights flashing, sirens blaring, woowooing as it drove out of the division courtyard.

At this moment, Dongfang Hui, Pan Sheng, and others who hadn't left yet saw this scene and their faces beamed with delight.

"Young Master Hui, have you coordinated things with the governing office?"

Pan Sheng asked Dongfang Hui with a smile.

"Of course!"

Dongfang Hui rubbed his right hand, which had been treated with bruise ointment; just swinging the baseball bat had made his hand hurt.

"In the Provincial City's territory, there's no place where the words of my Dongfang Family don't count. This guy is practically at death's door. When news of his sudden death arrives, we'll open a bottle of red wine to celebrate!"

The governing office of the Northeast District of the Provincial City Action Department Division is located on the outskirts of the Northeast District.

By the time the escort vehicle arrived, it was already midday.

Tall concrete walls were lined with electric fences, and a big black iron gate loomed like a monster's jaws, with a small door underneath just for personnel entry and exit.

On the guard tower, armed tactical team members with guns slung over their shoulders surveyed the inside of the high walls with sharp eyes. Occasionally, a dog bark rang out, adding to the grim and frightening atmosphere.

The escort vehicle came to a stop, a team member stepped down to hand over the documents, and then the small door opened, allowing Jiang Feng to be led inside.

The person in charge of receiving was a minor officer from the governing office. He glanced at the documents and then sized up Jiang Feng, just about to speak.

Suddenly, a young governing officer walked over, whispered something in his ear, and the minor officer said, "Alright, you make the arrangements."

The young governing officer was not tall but extremely stout, his shoulders swayed with each step, appearing particularly aggressive.

He led Jiang Feng inside.

Though it was blazing hot outside, inside the governing office, not a sliver of light penetrated, the atmosphere cold and gloomy, oppressive and dark.

The young officer led Jiang Feng through a long corridor and directly to a governing room at the very back.

He took out a key to open the iron door, and under the dim light of a thirty-watt bulb in the dark hallway, one could see a row of cement bunks inside, with a mass of people lying upon them.

Upon hearing the door open, not a single person inside looked over.

"Black Bear! The newcomer, take good care of him!"

The young officer finished speaking and pushed Jiang Feng inside the cell, clanging the iron door shut.

As soon as the young officer left, all the prisoners who had been pretending to sleep jumped up, examining Jiang Feng like he was some rare specimen.

Their faces were sinister, clearly not decent folk.

A stocky, short man sleeping near the door slowly sat up. The space in this governing room was small, yet he occupied the space of at least three people and seemed to be the boss here.

"Newcomer, what's your name? Where you from? What crime got you in here?" the boss asked.

The other prisoners chimed in:

"Newcomer, got any smokes on you?"

"Got any money?"

"Why are you still standing there, damn it! Don't you know the rules? Kneel down!"

Jiang Feng immediately pretended to be very frightened and knelt down, pitifully saying, "My name is Jiang Feng, I'm a security guard, got in here for accidentally hurting someone. Big brothers, where do I sleep?"

The stocky man cursed: "Fuck your mother! First time in, huh? Report before speaking."

Then he turned to the prisoners and laughed, "This one's a rookie, doesn't know the rules, do whatever you want with him, brothers."

But before he finished speaking, Jiang Feng clamped his hand around the man's neck and yanked him off the bunk, kicking him in the belly so hard that he shit himself, flying far away, rolling into a dung pit at the deepest part of the room.

Then Jiang Feng did something astonishing, shouting hoarsely at the door while gripping his throat, "Help! They're hitting me!!!"

The only response from outside was the loud bang of the iron door slamming shut.

Jiang Feng turned back to face the goggling group of lowlifes, grinning maliciously.

This midday at the governing office was anything but calm, filled with the wails of souls in the cell of violence, echoing far and wide.

People from nearby governing rooms had no clue what was happening, merely joining in the schadenfreude, these beastly folks happiest when someone else suffered.

The sound pierced through multiple layers of walls, reaching the governing personnel's ears, a few of whom were playing cards without so much as a twitch of their eyelids, carrying on with their game.

"Xiao Hai, Black Bear's going at it hard; there won't be any fatalities, right?"

After a long time, with the screaming still ongoing, a governing officer finally couldn't hold back and asked.

"No worries, you know who authorized this behind the scenes? If the sky falls, it's not us holding it up, so relax,"

said Xiao Hai, none other than the young governing officer from before, speaking indifferently.

Once they heard it was a planned operation, the others fell silent.

However, what they never expected was that during afternoon drills, not a single person came out from the violent governing room!

Xiao Hai, responsible for this area, opened the door to find everyone in the violent governing room doing wall handstands.

Even though they were all muscular, some people's arms quivered uncontrollably, indicating they had maintained this position for quite a while.

The newcomer Jiang Feng, brought in earlier, was lying alone on the bunk with his eyes closed, still on the top bunk closest to the door.

"What's going on? Where's Black Bear?" Xiao Hai roared furiously.

"He slipped and hit the wall earlier, passed out,"

Jiang Feng opened his eyes, smirking wryly, pointing to a curled-up stocky figure by the dung pit.

"And what exactly are you all doing?"

Xiao Hai pointed at the line of prisoners doing handstands against the wall and barked.

"Report! We're exercising!"

A group of them answered, trembling with fear, their faces uniformly turned into panda faces, all bruised and battered, resembling an assembly of Kung Fu Pandas with their handstand poses.

Xiao Hai immediately understood, no wonder he was tasked with handling this matter.

This guy, he's trouble!!
