Chapter 303: Chapter 303 Jealousy was a disease he never wanted cured

The meeting had barely ended when Leo exhaled, finally free from the suffocating chatter of executives. He unbuttoned his shirt, three buttons undone to reveal the hard lines of his chest, his mind already drifting to someone else entirely. Without wasting another second, he reached for his tablet and swiped it open with practiced ease.

Just one look. Just to see how she was doing.

The security feed loaded instantly, showing the company’s canteen floor. Leo leaned forward, resting an elbow on the desk, his sharp eyes scanning the footage. The system even had audio.

At first, his expression was calm, almost proud, seeing her sitting there with the others, blending in so naturally. But the longer he watched, the tighter his jaw became.

Jeffrey.

That idiot’s arm was around her shoulder, laughing, talking too close.

Leo’s eyes darkened immediately, his fingers gripping the edge of the tablet so tightly it creaked under the pressure. His expression grew colder by the second as he fast-forwarded through the footage.

He saw her later in the lounge, surrounded by men—men laughing, leaning in, asking questions, teasing. And Bella, his sweet, innocent Bella, smiling awkwardly, blushing, completely unaware she was sitting in the middle of a minefield.

Leo’s jaw flexed. His aura turned heavy, cold, possessive.

By the time the recording reached the part where they started asking her about girlfriends, his face had gone blank, the kind of blank that meant danger.

"Girlfriend?" he muttered softly, the word cutting through the air like a blade.

He leaned back in his chair, one hand rubbing his temple. "Girlfriend, huh? She already has a husband." His voice dropped lower, darker, tinged with irritation. "What girlfriend? She’s mine. She doesn’t like any girl... even if they’re cute."

But then another thought crossed his mind– a certain loud, bright, overly affectionate woman Bella often mentioned with that shy little smile.

Scarlett.

Leo froze.

His temples began to throb. Scarlett. That loud woman who always hugged Bella and texted her hearts. The one Bella called my best friend.

His fingers tapped against the desk slowly, rhythmically, as his thoughts spiraled in the most irrational direction possible.

"What if..." he whispered, his voice dangerously soft, "...she likes that loud woman?"

The moment the thought formed, his entire body went still. Then, slowly, his jaw tightened, a muscle ticking in his cheek as a faint tremor of disbelief crossed his face.

His aura grew colder, heavier, dark enough to make even the air seem tense.

No. He refused to even imagine it.

Bella belonged to him. Heart, mind, soul—everything.

And if anyone, man or woman, dared to steal even a fraction of her affection, Leo was sure he’d make them regret ever breathing near her.

He pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed deeply, forcing himself to calm down. But his heart wouldn’t listen.

"I should probably remind her who her husband is," he muttered under his breath, his voice low and dangerous, though a faint, teasing smile finally curved his lips.

Because when it came to his little bunny, jealousy was a disease he never wanted cured.

Bella followed Jeffrey from the resting room to the workspace. It was still lunch break.

"Do you want to come to the washroom together?" Jeffrey asked cheerfully, grinning like it was the most normal question in the world.

Bella’s eyes widened in pure horror. "NO!" she blurted out, her voice louder than intended, her whole body stiffening like a startled cat. She looked as if her soul had just escaped her body.

And that was exactly when Leo walked in.

He stopped at the doorway, his expression calm...too calm and his eyes immediately landed on them.

Washroom.

Together.

The words echoed in his head like an explosion.

His jaw tightened. His dark eyes flickered with something dangerous, something that made even the fluorescent lights seem to dim. The air grew colder, heavier, his presence leaking through the room like black smoke.

"What," Leo said slowly, his voice deep enough to make the floor vibrate, "are you doing?"

Jeffrey blinked, confused by the sudden shift in atmosphere. "Sir! It’s break time! Me and Isaac were just going to the washroom!" he said happily, completely unaware he was signing his own death sentence.

Leo’s face didn’t move, but his eyes did—sharp, lethal, the kind of look that made grown men forget how to breathe.

"Kenn," he said flatly, not even looking away from Jeffrey.

One of his bodyguards, who had been standing silently near the door, immediately stepped forward. "Yes, sir."

"Take Jeffrey to work on our latest assignment," Leo said expressionlessly, his tone too calm to be safe.

Jeffrey blinked, finally sensing danger. "Sir—what? But it’s break time! I just want to go to the washroom!"

Leo’s eyes slid to him like a blade. "Take him."

Kenn nodded and grabbed Jeffrey by the arm.

"Wait—at least let me go to the washroom first!" Jeffrey pleaded, flailing.

Leo’s lips curved slightly, though it wasn’t a smile. "Kenn will take you."

Jeffrey’s face paled. "No, sir—sir please—"

But Kenn had already started dragging him away. His protests faded down the hall. "Sir! I just needed to pee!"

The door shut behind them.

Silence.

The entire office froze, every employee pretending to type furiously, too terrified to even breathe

Leo went perfectly still. Then, slowly, his cold gaze locked onto Bella.

Her heart nearly stopped when their gazes met.

"Sir?" she asked softly, her voice trembling just a little. She felt like a mouse caught under a lion’s stare.

Leo said nothing for a few seconds. Then finally, he took a slow step toward her.

The other employees, sensing imminent danger, instantly grabbed their files, coffee cups, and excuses to escape. Within seconds, the room emptied, leaving only the two of them.

Bella sighed softly, half in relief that Jeffrey was gone and half in fear that Leo was now the one approaching her.

"I need to talk to you about something important," Leo said, his voice low and sharp, the kind of tone that made even the air around him tighten. "In my office. Right now."

He didn’t wait for a reply. He turned, opened the door with a firm push, and started walking ahead, his long strides echoing through the quiet hallway.
