Pokémon had a sense of good and evil, and they could distinguish between good people and bad people. However, most of the time, their moral alignment followed that of their Trainers.
If the Trainer was evil, they became the sword in their hands; if the Trainer was good, they became like Pikachu, charming others with their "Pika Pika" cuteness.
As for First-class Legendaries like Jirachi, their sense of good and evil was actually quite vague because their lives were endless—they had simply lived for far too long.
From their perspective, even the most wicked person would have turned to dust by the time they woke up from their next nap.
Patting Jirachi's little head, Julian was very satisfied but also somewhat frustrated as he looked at Celebi, who was perched on his head, and said, "See? Can’t you learn from Jirachi? When I get bullied, Jirachi has the power to help me. What about you?"
Hearing this, Celebi replied matter-of-factly, "I can help you get revenge too. I can call for backup!"
"Are you going to call in a bunch of fried chicken legs?" Julian scoffed.
Call for backup? Who could it possibly call? Julian didn’t believe it one bit.
"Hmph, if you don’t believe me, forget it."
Celebi was a little angry and shifted from lying down to sitting upright on Julian's head.
Honestly, given its current weight, if it stayed perched on Julian's head all day, without his Mega Pallet Town Physique, he would have developed cervical spine problems by now.
"I'd be a fool to believe you."
"Hmph!"
"Hmph back at you!"
"Hmph hmph!"
"Hmph hmph hmph!!"
Celebi: "Aaaah! Stop copying me!"
Frustrated, Celebi started tugging at Julian’s hair, while Julian held it down against his head with one hand.
Watching the scuffle between Julian and Celebi, Ella wasn’t surprised anymore, but George, sitting in the passenger seat, looked dumbfounded as he watched the scene through the rearview mirror.
A dignified Champion, and a Mythical Pokémon—both were supposed to be lofty and exalted beings.
Yet, how did they end up acting so childish when put together?
Celebi: "Jirachi, hurry up and save me! Punch Julian!"
Julian: "Jirachi, I've got Celebi pinned down. Now's your chance to spank it!"
Jirachi suddenly felt torn, not knowing whether it should help Celebi or Julian, its gaze flicking back and forth between the two.
Just then, the driver suddenly turned the wheel and slammed on the brakes. The next second, a loud bang echoed—a collision had occurred.
Julian immediately used his psychic powers to stabilize himself, Celebi, and Jirachi, while his other hand steadied Ella, who had been thrown forward.
George and the driver weren't as lucky—they were hit in the face by the airbags, though fortunately, they weren't seriously hurt.
"Go check if there are any suspicious people around," Julian said calmly.
"Gen~"
Gengar's voice sounded in his ear.
After speaking, Julian looked ahead. Through the front windshield, he could see that their car had rear-ended the vehicle in front of them.
Bang, bang, bang!
The driver of the vehicle in front had already gotten out and was angrily pounding on the driver's side window, shouting, "How the hell are you driving?!"
The other party was driving a van, and over a dozen people quickly emerged from it, surrounding Julian's car.
The entire lane was completely blocked, with a long line of cars honking incessantly. However, the group showed no intention of moving aside.
Most of the drivers seeing how outnumbered they were, didn’t dare to approach and could only wait where they were.
Some even took out their phones, either to make calls or to record.
Watching over a dozen people surround the car that had rear-ended them, some drivers pitied the occupants—they were unlucky and might even get beaten up by these thugs.
These people clearly looked like trouble, giving off strong gangster vibes.
Victoria was a rather unique place. Although it was now a society governed by law, underground societies, or triads, still existed here.
"Bastard! How are you driving? You hit my car and scared my brothers! If you don’t pay up a million, this isn’t over!" The leader, seeing that the car that hit them was a luxury vehicle, showed no fear. Instead, he saw an opportunity to extort them.
In Victoria, there were plenty of wealthy people without strong backgrounds.
"What happened?"
George pressed a hand to his forehead and angrily questioned the driver. He then turned to Julian and asked, "Master Walker, are you all right?"
Julian shook his head. "I'm fine."
As he spoke, he helped Ella, who was in his arms, back into her seat.
"A car on the right suddenly changed lanes. I honked, but it kept coming over at high speed. I was afraid it would hit us, so I had to swerve and ended up hitting that van."
The driver’s face showed both fear and helplessness. He knew very well who he was carrying. What was supposed to be a proud moment had now turned into a traffic accident.
Forget Julian—even George was someone far beyond what he could afford to offend.
"It’s fine, it’s not your fault," Julian said calmly.
Meanwhile, Patrick, noticing that Julian’s car had gotten into an accident, immediately parked and hurried over, shouting angrily, "What are you doing? Get out of the way at once!"
"Well, if it isn’t the Chief Executive himself! Why so anxious? Is there some big shot in the car?"
The leader clearly recognized Patrick. He walked over to the rear seat where Julian was sitting and lightly tapped the window with his baseball bat.
"So who’s the big shot inside? Care to show your face?"
As he finished speaking, the window slowly rolled down, revealing a cold, stern face.
"Do you recognize me?"
Clang!
The man stared blankly at Julian, his baseball bat dropping unconsciously from his hand. After a moment of stunned silence, his expression shifted to one of sheer terror.
'A Champion… Mom, I’ve made it big—I’ve managed to provoke a Champion!'
[T/N: New Achievement Unlocked!]
If he wasn’t somewhat bold by nature, he would have already collapsed on the spot.
"Who sent you to do this?" Julian asked calmly.
On the side, one of Patrick’s men whispered in his ear: "We found the driver who recklessly changed lanes. He’s drunk."
Patrick nodded.
Julian overheard their conversation. And at this moment, Gengar also returned and whispered a few words in his ear.
Gengar: "There are a lot of reporters around."
Julian sneered. As expected—this was no accident.
"It seems the Dawson family hasn’t received my 'return gift' yet. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have resorted to such petty tricks to annoy me," Julian smiled.
"Commander, was this the Dawson family’s doing?" Ella asked.
"Mhm. Gengar said there are quite a few reporters around. I suppose it won’t take long before all of Victoria knows I’m here."
"At that time, some of our follow-up actions will inevitably become inconvenient."
"The Dawson family has gone too far!"
Ella’s face flushed with anger.
Julian, however, didn’t look angry. Instead, he just said, "It’s fine. After all, I killed his youngest son. Soon, he’ll be the one who’s angry."
Although he said that, the cold glint in his eyes proved that Julian’s true thoughts were anything but forgiving.
