Chapter 607: Chapter 25: The Misunderstanding
"Juliet One?" Xiao Xian looked astonished, turning back to look, but saw no one, then lowered her head to look at the ground.
The sand particles at her feet undulated as if swept by the wind. After waiting a moment more, an object was moving underground. It was none other than Juliet One.
The sand’s surface quickly bulged, and Juliet One emerged from beneath it, "New student Zhu Xiaoxian, it is already nighttime. According to the security rules of North Campus, wandering around without special reasons after dark is not permitted."
What kind of rule was this, probably a temporary makeshift one, Xiao Xian muttered inwardly, but said: "We’ve run out of rice and need to go to the supply center to buy some, isn’t that a special circumstance?"
A scanning red light beamed out of Juliet One, circling Xiao Xian to confirm there was nothing unusual about her, then said "Go ahead."
Having said that, the robot burrowed back into the sand and moved forward.
Xiao Xian watched its direction headed towards Area B, it looks like she couldn’t follow the main road, only taking a side route from the outskirts of the desert towards Area B.
At the junction of Area B and C, Zhang Yiyi was dodging around with her brown skin and green hair.
She had slept until it got dark and climbed down from the tree, then encountered an evening sandstorm in the desert. She hadn’t been blown away, but was blown off course.
"When you’re down on your luck, even drinking water can choke you," Zhang Yiyi glanced around, the C-area desert lacked any recognizable landmarks.
"Hungry and tired, if I don’t find my way soon, it would be great to have a Hami melon right now," Zhang Yiyi was still frightened today and also suffered from the strange poisonous gas released by Xu Lan Ya, though it was digested by the colorful gecko’s special constitution, her physical strength was exhausted.
Having walked some distance again, she was completely out of energy. At night, the temperature in the desert was low, without food or water, she could only sit prostrate on the ground.
A longan rolled off her body, it seems that she just brought it down from a longan tree.
"Damn Xu Lan Ya, if it weren’t for her, I would already be at my cozy home, peeling longans, waiting for Xiao Xian to tailor wrist and knee guards for me," Zhang Yiyi complained, grabbing the life-saving longan with her hand.
Having something to eat was better than nothing, just as she reached for the longan peel, a sharp pain struck her back and her bones felt as if they were splitting.
The whole person collapsed onto the sand without even a chance to groan.
"What monster is this," Wang Shuai descended from the sky, he was, as usual, jogging along the edge of the desert tonight, and from afar he noticed a piece of branch.
What was strange was that this branch could move, and even issued groans and cries.
It couldn’t be some bizarre creature nurtured by a student, Wang Shuai didn’t think twice and with a sweeping kick, sent the branch flying.
"Ouch," the bizarre "branch" emitted a familiar voice, Wang Shuai paused, using the tip of his foot to flip over the still trembling "branch."
A round face, round eyes, only the tall stature was not so round.
"Baozi face, how did you end up looking like this," seeing the face smudged with tears and snot, and Yiyi whose skin color and pain-twisted face looked as crumpled as a little steamed bun, Wang Shuai was dumbfounded.
"Ambulance," after saying this, Zhang Yiyi passed out.
Wang Shuai was dumbfounded again, an ambulance? There is no ambulance in North Campus. Oh, he should find Juliet One. He picked up Zhang Yiyi and swiftly disappeared at the edge of the C-area desert.
Only those who have been to a desert know that while it’s easy to walk slowly in the desert, it’s hard to move quickly. Walking fast, the sand flows fast too, making it easy to get stuck, especially while carrying someone.
The pain was unbearable for Zhang Yiyi; her consciousness fluttered like a small boat blindly traversing the sea. Held in Wang Shuai’s arms, she felt as if she entered a warm harbor; her breathing stabilized, and she curled up a little more into his embrace.
"Mom," she murmured softly, nestling her strangely colored face close to Wang Shuai’s neck, rubbing it.
Running swiftly, Wang Shuai leaped high in his strides, suspending mid-air, suddenly troubled by inexplicable irritation. He coughed, feeling for the first time that the desert of C-area was truly too vast.
After arriving at the supply center of C-area, Juliet One began examining Zhang Yiyi’s body, first scanning her body and then questioning the course of events.
