Capítulo 1050: Chapter 1050: Lilina’s Astute Vision

The bizarre bunch at home really can’t let anyone rest assured; this group has the ability to turn anything into doomsday material, even with Sandora and the Big Sister balancing things out. I can’t even imagine what would happen if no one watched over them. Just with Qianqian and Lin Xue together, they could probably wreak havoc on human society.

Oh, and Lin must be added to the mix. While the Dragon God Girl is fairly obedient, her talent is quite peculiar. If she doesn’t manage to overcome her clumsiness and tendency to make mistakes when busy within her lifetime, by the end of the next five billion-year plan, she’ll still likely just be the errand girl on the team.

Vanilla was so frightened by our antics that she let out a “wah” and burst into tears, which caught everyone off guard. Anwina was the first to panic, rushing forward to comfort her. Bingdisi kicked Lin in the claw, reminding the silly Dragon God to revert to human form before she inadvertently strangled herself (if that were possible). Just as 123 was about to strike a pose, Lin’s tail unfortunately swiped him. His sister had to work hard to extract him from the wall; luckily, he seemed unharmed, though his pride took a hit. Uncle Kenser rubbed his shoulder dejectedly and finally stopped talking. Bingdisi reclaimed her half-dismantled illusionary palace, swearing she’d never let us play with it again: according to Sandora, she’s made that vow over 260 times. The Big Sister helped Anwina calm the frightened girl and then, with mixed emotions, explained to us: “She was scared by Lin—a Dragon God’s movement is indeed quite loud, nearly tearing down half the house.”

The Dragon God Girl rubbed her neck and muttered an apology with tear-filled eyes: “Sorry…”

Bingdisi looked at Lin’s head with disdain: “With that personality, you’ll never rise above this. You should’ve been assertive now, things got broken; so what? Stand your ground—you need that spirit.”

Lin cautiously explained to Sister Bing: “But what I broke was your palace…”

Bingdisi paused before immediately backtracking: “Of course, if that’s the case, you should genuinely apologize from your heart.”

I think hanging out with people like Qianqian and Lilina has clearly taken a toll on Sister Bing’s brain.

Vanilla was merely shell-shocked; she wasn’t hurt at all by Lin’s topsy-turvy actions. Thanks to Big Sister’s professional comforting, the girl quickly recovered. Honestly, I was quite surprised since she has to be around fourteen or fifteen years old now. It’s not easy to scare a kid that age into crying. And yet, though she showed courage meeting Medivh before, she cried this time. It seems she’s still just a sheltered kid, and it’s hard to judge what she’ll do—including how brave she is.

“Hey, don’t be afraid,” I patted Vanilla on the head. “This gang causes trouble all the time, and Lin breaking things isn’t a rare event—it’s just bigger stuff this time. Look, we really can appear quite godly, it’s just that in this state, mishaps are easy to come by, so usually, we’re just as you see us. I’ll tell you, only small-time folks like to put on airs, because the bigger the pretence, the harder it is to keep up with it. But truly impressive people don’t need to show off, because the world can’t contain their grandeur.”

I think I might be a philosopher! “You sure can talk,” Sister Bing gave up on lecturing Lin and turned her focus to sarcasm, “convenient for you since it wasn’t your house that got demolished. That palace was made by replicating my home, a place where I could sleep and reminisce. It’ll take days to fix, so you owe me compensation.”

I thought a bit: “Alright, this week you can shop freely on Old Town’s main street; feel free to buy shoes and clothes.”

Bingdisi was delighted: “Okay, deal. Don’t you dare go back on it.”

Lilina was dumbfounded, tugging at her hair: “For real, who here can’t balance the books!?”

Vanilla had calmed down, looking at us with genuine awe. Despite our chaotic nature, she saw a Golden Giant Dragon right in front of her. Before Lin was tangled in the chandelier, she truly was impressive. I’m curious to see her reaction upon seeing one of our warships; I bet she’ll be too shocked to react at all. Watching Lilina and then Medivh, she remembered what Lilina had said earlier: “You said you were recruiting believers… You plan to descend upon my world, is that right?”

Lilina waved and pointed at Medivh: “It’s not us recruiting believers, it’s her. She’s the newly-promoted God, and we’re gathering data about this New God. Whether she can provide believers with sufficient strength is an important matter, and you’re key to this study: you’re the first mortal affected by Medivh. As for me, I’m just helping out, the God I serve is this one.” She said, picking up Dingdang, who was crawling towards the fruit bowl from the coffee table, “This is the Goddess I follow, the Life God, Dingdang.”

“Haha, hello!” Dingdang energetically greeted Vanilla, “Dingdang is awesome! If you’re sick, just ask Dingdang for help! Medivh advanced this fast thanks to eating Dingdang’s leaves.” It seemed like the Little Thing still had psychological shadows.

Vanilla hadn’t noticed the Little One before, and now she was stunned once again. Poor kid, she has to hang out with us and witness all these absurd situations. I reckon it’ll take her a long time to learn how to stay calm when interacting with us.

After that, Lilina spent a good part of the afternoon explaining to Vanilla what a Star Domain God is, what the emerging Xyrin God is all about, her own identity, Medivh’s advent; these were details Anwina hadn’t mentioned yesterday. Little Ghost only told Vanilla about the Xyrin Empire and world-travel knowledge. Curiously, Vanilla seemed to comprehend more than half of Lilina’s explanation, though her expression was particularly complex. Probably she felt required to believe what we said but couldn’t believe she’d truly get involved in such matters.

“Oh, that means we’ll eventually have to go to Vanilla’s world once,” I suddenly remembered something and spoke to Sandora, “She can go back home, whether she chooses to stay here or return home, she should go back and say hello to people she knows. Plus, Vanilla is from a new, unregistered New World. Doesn’t this mean there’s another member of the Macro World?” Besides, it seems Lilina’s set on helping Medivh spread faith in the New World, and her prime target is, of course, Vanilla’s hometown.

Sandora nodded in agreement, while Vanilla, not quite understanding my words, only picked out the hint that we were going to her hometown, and whispered to Anwina: “Are you taking me home?”

“No matter the reason, you’re coming with us,” I answered for Anwina, “we might go soon. What Lilina told you is just for your knowledge, don’t overthink it. No one will force you.”

“Okay,” Vanilla lowered her head, twisting her fingers around her clothes, “I will try my best—it sounds amazing.”

After Anwina guided Vanilla to another room, I glanced at Lilina: “Do you think starting proselytizing with Medivh is really wise now? Feels like nonsense to me.”

Lilina leaned back on the sofa with an all-knowing look, supporting her chin with her hands: “Boss, have a bit of strategic vision, will you? The Xyrin Divine System has finally brought forth a creature that might be a God. But do you understand what characteristics this God has? Does it possess normal Godly functions? All these require testing. A Star Domain God can empower believers through faith and determine world shapes by will; these embody displays of Power. You should also figure out how the Xyrin Divine System’s God manifests its Power. Will mortals gain power through faith in Medivh, and what form will it take? This information is crucial for preparing for subsequent promotions. Besides, Medivh has already turned a pile of medieval scrap metal into a self-growing Divine Artifact, indicating she can truly affect the real world. If you don’t quickly figure out how to control this influence, can you be at ease? In my experience, founding a religion now is the best testing method. Faithful believers become countless experimental samples, and as long as the God genuinely benefits them, they’ll eagerly report back their situations.”

I was speechless, looking at the little girl in front of me who was only one meter zero nine tall, thinking that this kid really is inherently calculating and scheming; these things do indeed need attention. – Medivh’s premature promotion is not a bad thing. It gave us an excellent initial sample, and the information gathered from her might have a considerable effect on the future development of the Xyrin Divine System.

It’s just that Vanilla is just an ordinary little girl who has never seen much of the world and has no awareness of doing great things. Lilina entrusted such a big matter to that child so rashly, without knowing if it’s appropriate or not. Of course, Lilina does have her considerations. Currently, it seems that during the most crucial days of Medivh’s promotion, Vanilla was by her side, and that child is therefore most likely to have the same nature as Lilina: to grow into a demigod. The reason Lilina became a demigod is that her body was made by Dingdang. Vanilla was at the critical moment of divine birth. In comparison, the latter’s situation is even more rare than Lilina’s—after all, Dingdang can create demigods countless times, but Little Crow is likely to grow only once in a lifetime. Vanilla is considered a limited enhanced version.

It’s just that the specific results remain to be seen. Anyway, let the child choose for herself—actually, I’m not very optimistic about Lilina’s ambitions. Not to mention whether a little girl like Vanilla who hasn’t seen much of the world can do such black-bellied deceptive things like her, even Medivh herself is just a kid who doesn’t understand anything. I estimate her first so-called “preaching” will likely end in a farce nine out of ten times.

Thinking of this, I remembered that going to Vanilla’s world still needed Medivh’s help, so I called the little girl over. She was busy watching a replay of Animal World, drooling all over, looking curious and with a question mark on her face after I called her over, biting her finger and staring over here with big eyes, looking just like a domestic bird waiting to be fed. Without waiting for me to speak, she said first, “Master wants to feed me, um, want to eat—” She pointed at the TV beside her, a deep male voice with magnetic charm coming from the TV, “This is the season when voles reach their peak of reproduction every year…”

Me: “…” Finally learned to eat, but does the menu still overlap with crows?

I patted the little guy’s head to let her sit down and asked as simply and clearly as possible: “Do you still remember the world you went to a few days ago? Now everyone needs to go to that world to do some things, so tell us the coordinates.”

Medivh tilted her head: “Caw?”

I was instantly dumbfounded: This silly bird doesn’t know what coordinates are!

Sandora immediately covered her face: “Now this is troublesome, Medivh basically stumbled her way through, she doesn’t remember the way.”

Everyone looked dumbfounded, Xiao Xue leaned in with a mischievous smile, hugging silly Medivh, laughing, “Haha, turns out such a mighty Sister Bird was even more clueless than me when she was young—but Dad, how could you forget, Medivh found her own way back home~~”

Sandora realized: “Right, she can recognize the way, she just doesn’t know how to say it, she doesn’t know those terms.”

This is still troublesome, Medivh knows how to go to another world herself, but she can’t quantify this method and share it with us. She hasn’t been trained, and doesn’t know how to use spiritual power to collect Void coordinate samples, nor does she understand what data format the Empire needs to initiate world transmission: it’s like hoping for a cat to catch a dead mouse by accident. You can’t expect her to teach other blind cats how to catch a dead mouse, right—of course, she might just find her way back again by chance. The fact that Medivh can find her way home suggests she might have her own method for marking Void coordinates.

“It seems we’ll have to let Medivh take a beacon transmitter with her and then have the transmitter send back the coordinates, and then set up the World Gate from Shadow City,” Sandora came up with a compromise, “though it’s a bit troubling, but it’s not a major issue anyway.”

I thought this method was feasible, but Anwina was not very relieved to let Medivh embark alone again. We needed to find someone to accompany that silly bird, in case she was sold off in the Otherworld: last time, she fell into a deserted valley and met a simple good child like Vanilla, otherwise I reckon with Little Crow’s intelligence, anyone could sell her. After some consideration, we decided to have Lilina and Big Sister go along. Lilina is smart enough to effectively prevent the silly bird from being sold, and Big Sister can watch over Lilina to prevent her from selling others. These two should be sufficient. According to Vanilla’s description, the world she lives in poses no major threats, perhaps some Ancient Spirits, but the combined strength won’t exceed that of Azeroth from four years ago.

Moreover, Vanilla must also go along, so Medivh now needs to take three people through the world.

The reason for taking only three people is mainly because we’re not sure how many entities that silly bird can take through at once. Otherwise, with my family’s temperament, we might all go together. According to Sandora, taking others through the world requires more than just providing Void protection; it’s not just about being big enough to carry a group army on her back. The guide needs to use themselves as a medium, bearing the task of information addressing (or finding Void coordinates of other worlds) for everyone—a skill Medivh is still far from mastering, so relying on instinct to what extent she can perform is still a big unknown. If she takes too many and loses one or two at that time—the fun would be over.

After deciding on the itinerary, Big Sister immediately started packing, preparing a variety of children’s clothes for Little Crow that weighed seventy to eighty pounds (listen to this measure—pounds!), and as usual, started stocking up pots, pans, food, and vegetables in the personal space. Big Sister must have a severe sense of crisis; I feel she prepares as if going to exile every time she leaves. Despite my repeated complaints, Big Sister still does as she pleases, and now I’m too lazy to say anything, just reminded, “You know, sis, I didn’t say you guys should leave now?”

“Huh? Haven’t we decided on the personnel?”

“It’s not too late to let these two little girls rest for a couple of days,” I pointed to Medivh, who was studying why the TV made sounds, and Vanilla, “At least during these few days, let the silly bird know how to use her hands to grab instead of using her mouth to carry things around. Look…”

I was saying, and Medivh happened to run past Big Sister with the TV remote in her mouth, placing the drool-covered item in front of Vanilla, proudly saying, “That is the TV, this is the remote, press this, you can control the TV!”

Speaking, she demonstrated for Vanilla, lowering her head and hitting her face against the remote a couple of times, then complaining with a grievance, “Caw, the mouth is flat, it’s not easy to use now!”

I nudged Big Sister’s arm: “See, merely learning to walk upright doesn’t make one a human.”

In the next few days, we were more or less focused on educating Medivh, teaching this bird how to live in the posture of a human: holding things with hands, eating with utensils, wearing clothes (this is very important, especially after Anwina discovered that if no one dresses her, Little Crow would really run around naked. Fortunately, she didn’t run out of the room naked that time; otherwise, the only three men in this house would probably be coerced by the Three Aunts and Six Aunties Promotion Association to commit suicide to apologize to the world), and sleeping in a bed. Little Crow was frowning every day, finding the learning tasks now more difficult than when she learned how to control magic power before, and many projects were beyond her comprehension.

However, the family’s attitude towards training Little Crow was unified and firm. After all, we already have a fox dog that occasionally runs around naked, and now that fox is not home, what if she comes back? We must fully consider whether bringing together two naked running enthusiasts would completely destroy the moral order of this place…(To be continued.
