Mysterious Journey

Chapter 49: The World is Truly Wonderful

"Huff, are you sure it's just chocolate?"

After Ron's explanation, Hermione's face gradually returned to normal, looking suspiciously at the pentagonal box in her hand - [Chocolate Frog]. She hesitated for a while, but couldn't quite muster the courage to open it.

"My name is Hermione Granger, it's nice to meet you. I think I should continue looking for Neville's toad."

Slightly startled, Hermione's tone was noticeably weaker, her eyes darting quickly to look at Elliana, who was stuffing the last chocolate frog leg into her mouth. She nodded, ready to leave.

"Want to run? Not so fast."

Elliana narrowed her eyes, sucking on a chocolate-covered fingertip, and smiled sweetly at Hermione, saying softly.

"Wait a moment, classmate, please hold on."

The silver-haired little loli used strange grammar, as if she were a foreigner who didn't understand English, saying as she stood up and quickly walked towards the door.

"Huh?"

Hermione stopped, puzzled, looking at the silver-haired girl slowly approaching, wondering what she meant.

"This way is too slow and inefficient. Don't be so anxious when you encounter problems. Come, come, sit down for a while, we can discuss how to help you."

*Clack.*

Elliana's lips curved into a smile as she used her foot to close the compartment door again, grabbing Hermione's hand and, before she could react, half-pulled and half-dragged the Granger classmate into the seat next to her.

Hermione, usually a乖乖女 (guai guai nü - well-behaved girl), had no match for Elliana's monstrous strength, developed from training with her priest father since childhood. She weakly resisted, but was firmly pressed into the seat.

Looking up at the silver-haired girl's exquisite face so close, and the lingering chocolate stain at the corner of her mouth, Hermione panicked and made a final, weak struggle.

"No, wait, I have to…"

"Quiet, eat your candy and listen to me."

Elliana shook her head, casually snatching the remaining half-box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates from Ron, and without explanation, peeled a chocolate ball and stuffed it into Hermione's mouth, directly silencing her.

"First, do you know the appearance of this toad? Secondly, have you estimated its possible location based on its movement speed? Finally, as a first-year, can you guarantee that so many older students will be willing to help you?"

With Elliana's barrage of questions, Hermione, who had initially been resistant, gradually softened, shaking her head blankly. In fact, she had started out purely out of enthusiasm, simply wanting to help the pitiful-looking round-faced boy, without thinking too much about the details.

"Then what do you think we should do?" Hermione quickly chewed and swallowed the Ferrero Rocher in her mouth, looking up and asking somewhat stubbornly, "Surely we shouldn't just give up because it's difficult."

"Of course not."

Elliana raised her eyebrows, smiling smugly, turning to look at Harry and saying, "Harry, can I borrow a few Sickles for a moment? I'll pay you back after we get to school."

"Uh? Oh, oh, sure."

Harry, who had been listening intently to the conversation, quickly nodded, counting out a handful of silver coins from his pocket and placing them in Elliana's hand, looking curiously at what she wanted to do.

"Wait for me a moment…"

Elliana pocketed the coins, opened the compartment door, looked left and right, and quickly ran out.

After about two or three minutes, the girl returned to the compartment door, panting, clapping her hands cheerfully, and saying with a smile, "Okay, done. Granger, you can sit here and relax. I think Neville's toad will be delivered here soon."

"Huh? Why?" Hermione asked, puzzled.

"Simple, have you heard of rewards?"

Elliana narrowed her eyes triumphantly, wagging her index finger.

"I just asked the trolley lady to tell everyone in each compartment that if they find a lost toad and bring it here, they can not only take two Sickles worth of food from the trolley for free, but also learn the location of a secret passage at Hogwarts that most students have never been to."

"A secret passage? I remember reading about them in *Hogwarts, A History*, but it never mentioned where they actually are. Do you know where one is?"

Hermione was the first to react, her eyes filled with curiosity as she looked at Elliana.

"Of course, it's a secret that Dumbledore personally told me. On the eighth floor of the castle, behind two ugly stone statues, there's a mysterious place that requires a password to enter, and the password changes randomly, but it's usually something edible."

Elliana smiled mysteriously, glancing at the three wide-eyed children. She was looking forward to seeing their expressions if they followed the clues all the way and ended up in the Headmaster's office.

"Well, anyway, thank you. If there's nothing else, I'll go back now?"

Hermione nodded, carefully remembering Elliana's words, stood up, and straightened out the wrinkles on her robes, preparing to leave.

"Since you're here, you still want to leave? This little Hermione, not being乖 (guai - obedient)…"

Elliana's eyes darted around, suddenly her face darkened, she licked her lips, and added in a sinister tone.

"Of course you can leave. However, I can't guarantee that I won't accidentally eat that poor toad as a chocolate frog later. So, I suggest you stay here and wait with us."

QAQ!!! x3

This time, not only Hermione, but even Ron and Harry's faces changed, looking at the silver-haired girl standing at the compartment door with a look of horror, as if they had seen some particularly terrifying beast.

*Chuckles~*

Scanning the three children, who looked as if they were facing a great enemy, Elliana chuckled. The scary expression she had deliberately put on her face melted away as quickly as the first snow meeting the sun, and she tapped each of the three on the forehead with her finger.

"Just kidding, I would never do such a thing."

"Whew… I knew it, Elliana, that expression really scared me. Harry, don't you think so?"

Hermione breathed a sigh of relief, rolling her eyes and playfully slapping Elliana's hand.

Harry and Ron nodded in agreement. Mainly, combined with Elliana's previous set of practiced operations - patting, grabbing, biting - they had developed a slight psychological shadow.

"Yeah, yeah, I almost thought it was real."

"That's right, it was really scary."

Elliana blinked. It seemed that during her absence, the trio had already introduced themselves to each other, completing the initial construction of their little group?

Without the damage caused by the two magical comparisons, it seemed that at least the first impression wasn't as bad as in the original story.

But… Little Hermione actually dared to hit her, that wouldn't do. The future family (crossed out) hierarchy had to be clearly distinguished from the beginning. Elliana thought for a moment and said softly.

"Besides toads being poisonous, even non-toxic frogs contain a lot of parasites. You shouldn't eat them raw."

As the silver-haired little loli spoke, she stuck out her pink little tongue and licked her upper lip, and in the increasingly dazed and terrified gaze of the three young wizards, earnestly began to educate them.

"However, frogs are not only nutritious, but the meat is also exceptionally delicious and healthy. Therefore, the correct way to prepare them is to pinch, remove the head, peel the skin, remove the internal organs, and then either boil or bake them. In short, cook them thoroughly before eating…"

*Knock knock knock.*

*Whoosh.*

Before Elliana could finish, there was a rhythmic knock on the door outside the compartment, followed by the door being pushed open.

Three boys entered from the door, led by a pale-faced boy with slicked-back blond hair. On either side of him stood two chubby boys, like his bodyguards, the chubby boy on the left holding a yellow-green toad in his hands.

"I heard that as long as you bring this here, you can find out about a…"

Draco Malfoy asked hopefully into the compartment as he opened the door.

As the compartment door opened, the boy happened to hear Elliana's last words, and looked closely at the silver-haired figure with her back to him. His expression instantly became horrified, and he subconsciously wanted to close the door again.

"Sorry, we came to the wrong place."

*Smack.*

The compartment door was firmly held and could not be closed.

Elliana turned around, her lake-blue eyes glancing at the toad in the chubby boy's hand, and then returning her gaze to the blonde wizard in front of her. She didn't expect that Malfoy and his entourage had found Neville's toad…

"Yo, Draco, nice to see you again. Don't be in such a hurry. The world is amazing, don't you think?"
