Mysterious Journey

Chapter 30 An Accident

Diagon Alley, a winding street paved with stone slabs and cobblestones.

At this moment, a father and son were standing at the fork between Flourish and Blotts and Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions.

The boy was about ten years old, with the same oily, watery, light-golden hair as his father, a pale oval face, and a pair of gray-blue eyes, nervously looking up at the bustling street.

"I'll go to Flourish and Blotts next door to buy books for you first. You don't need to follow me. Just go to the shop in front and get your measurements taken."

The man glanced at his son, twirling the snake-headed cane in his palm, his brows furrowing slightly, and said in a low, displeased voice.

"Draco, I reiterate. You are a member of the ancient Malfoy family. I don't want to see you displaying such childish and weak expressions again."

"I just don't want to deal with those commoners. Don't worry, Father. I know what to do."

The blond boy, Draco Malfoy, took a deep breath, trying to imitate his father's tone and replied calmly.

"That's best. In recent years, Hogwarts has enrolled too many undesirable people. Always remember your own identity."

Lucius Malfoy nodded haughtily, raised his hand and patted his son on the shoulder, his tone softening.

"Anyway, let's part ways here for now. If I'm not back after you've had your measurements taken, go to the wand shop to find your mother."

"I know, you don't need to tell me."

Draco moved his shoulders slightly uncomfortably, and strode off in the direction of Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions without looking back.

(Hereafter, when Lucius is not present, Draco Malfoy will be referred to as Malfoy)

Following the signs, Malfoy made his way to his destination along the winding cobblestone street.

As he approached the entrance, Malfoy noticed a girl about his age sitting on the steps in front of Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions.

Malfoy curiously looked at the stone steps, and the next moment, his eyes were instantly captivated by the silver-haired girl sitting there.

At this moment, the girl was cautiously licking a huge scoop of ice cream, taking small bites with the tip of her tongue, with a focus that seemed to exclude the entire world, making her look particularly cute and well-behaved.

Sunlight shone on the girl's silky silver hair, shimmering with dazzling golden light. With her elfin-like delicate features, and long eyelashes fluttering slightly, almost every passerby would subconsciously slow down and take a few more glances at her.

"Ahem, excuse me, are you also a Hogwarts student?"

Malfoy tugged slightly at his knitted shirt, cleared his throat, and walked forward, politely extending his hand to shake hands with the girl.

"..."

The girl didn't speak, and didn't even bother to move her eyes, continuing to concentrate on her ice cream.

"Hey, are you going to Hogwarts too?"

Malfoy raised his voice slightly, waving his hand in front of the girl's eyes.

Slurp—

The silver-haired little girl gently sipped the ice cream, happily narrowed her eyes, and still ignored Malfoy standing in front of her, as if he were just air.

Malfoy, who had finally mustered up his courage, stood awkwardly in place, unsure whether to put his right hand down or continue holding it in the air, a faint blush appearing on his pale cheeks.

"Hey, didn't you hear me talking to you?!"

Malfoy walked up the steps angrily, reached out his right hand, trying to shake the girl's shoulder.

This time the girl finally reacted. Just before Malfoy was about to touch her, she turned her body to the left, successfully avoiding the boy's movement, and then continued her consumption.

The surrounding pedestrians seemed to notice this interesting scene, and stopped to watch this "little accident" happening in front of Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions with great interest.

Noticing the gazes and hushed voices behind him, the blush on Malfoy's face became even more obvious, his eyes turning cold, and in a fit of anger, he lunged toward the girl's arm.

How could there be so many annoying brats in this world?!

The silver-haired little girl, Elena, frowned impatiently, spun around, stood up, and once again deftly dodged the oncoming little boy.

However…

As the girl made a dodging movement, the half-eaten ice cream ball on the waffle cone swayed from side to side, and with a "smack" sound, fell to the ground.

Plop.

The huge ice cream ball crashed heavily on the ground due to inertia, flying out with a few chocolate-colored traces on the cobblestone surface.

As if the pause button had been pressed, the whole sound paused for half a second, and everyone's eyes turned to the lump of chocolate ice cream lying on the ground.

"..."

"..."

Elena looked at the empty waffle cone in her hand, and then looked at the "corpse" of the ice cream ball not far from her feet, and in Malfoy's bewildered eyes, she finished eating the waffle cone in three mouthfuls, expressionless.

The girl raised her chin, looking down at Malfoy sitting on the ground, her silver hair floating without wind, her lake-blue eyes emitting a kind of deathly coldness, and a dazzling light appeared on the back of her left hand, like some kind of sacred rune mark.

The entire small space seemed to suddenly stagnate, and even the air became unusually heavy.

Ugh…

"Plea… please…"

A trace of pain appeared on Malfoy's face, his hands involuntarily grabbing at his throat, as if he suddenly couldn't breathe, his pale face visibly turning red, then quickly turning liver-colored.

"Stop! It!"

A thunderous roar came from the distance, and an old man with a long silver beard waved his wand anxiously.

After a cracking sound similar to glass breaking, the stagnant air returned to flow.

"Think about your oath! Elena Kaslana!"

Snap! There was a crisp sound in the air.

Dumbledore Apparated directly from a dozen meters away to Elena's front, quickly grabbed the silver-haired loli's glowing left hand and pressed it down, looking at her sternly and reprimanding.

"Didn't we agree that you would eat your ice cream and wait for me to come back in the robe shop, why are you messing around again?"

Fortunately, he was in Flourish and Blotts not far away, and with the power of the Unbreakable Vow, he immediately felt the burst of magical energy from the Veela hybrid.

"..."

Elena pouted aggrievedly, turned her head and ignored Dumbledore.

Following Elena's gaze, Dumbledore saw that not far from the two of them, a chocolate ice cream ball that had only been half-eaten was lying quietly on the stone slab ground.

And on the stone steps, where Elena should have been sitting, Draco Malfoy was curled up in a ball, his smooth light-golden hair scattered on his face, which was now dazzlingly red. His whole body was shaking non-stop, his eyes full of terrified fear.

"Oh… well, but after you learn to control your magic, don't accidentally hurt others because of things like this again."

Dumbledore roughly guessed what had happened, touched Elena's head with a headache, and said weakly, "I'll take you to Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour later, until you're happy."

"What happened, Draco? Dumbledore, what have you done to my son?!"

A commotion appeared on the outer edge of the crowd. Lucius Malfoy rudely pushed away the people blocking his path, ran to Draco Malfoy, who was curled up on the ground, checked him, and took out his wand from his robe in uncontrollable anger, turning around and roaring at Dumbledore.

"Good morning, Lucius." Dumbledore said kindly, silently shielding Elena behind him.

"I think I need an explanation!"

Lucius Malfoy's cold eyes stared at Dumbledore, the anger in his eyes almost bursting out.

"As you can see, Lucius." Dumbledore smiled calmly and said, "It's just a small accident between children. After all, we can't predict magic surges."

"Oh?" Lucius Malfoy asked sarcastically, narrowing his eyes dangerously, looking at the silver-haired girl hiding behind Dumbledore, "This is called… a small accident?"

"I think Mr. Malfoy might need to learn more about how to interact with girls correctly." Dumbledore shrugged and said with a helpless expression, "You know, there are quite a few young witches at Hogwarts."

"Mr. Malfoy, I can testify that it was your son who first tried to pounce on the girl, which caused her to be frightened and have a magic surge. Fortunately, Dumbledore arrived in time to save your son."

At this time, Madam Malkin suddenly walked out and said to Lucius Malfoy.

"That's right, before that, the little girl hadn't said a word."

A wizard in the crowd also nodded in agreement.

"Yes, it's a good thing Dumbledore was here."

"That was wandless magic, right? As expected of Dumbledore…"

Immediately afterwards, the wizards who witnessed the whole process also spoke out in agreement, describing the ins and outs of the matter in a chaotic manner.

"…Then thank you, Dumbledore. Let's go!"

Lucius Malfoy's face turned livid. He forced himself to say thank you, then roughly grabbed Draco Malfoy, who was curled up on the ground, and prepared to leave.

"Wait, why are we leaving? It's just an accident. I haven't finished getting my measurements taken in the shop."

Draco Malfoy stood up, glanced at Elena, who had a look of amusement on her face. Suddenly he shook off his father's hand, stood in place, a stubborn expression appearing on his face, raised his head, and fearlessly met Lucius Malfoy's gaze.

"If you haven't finished buying books after I get my measurements taken, I'll go to the wand shop myself."

"Humph."

Lucius Malfoy lowered his head, glanced coldly at Draco Malfoy, raised his eyebrows, let out an indifferent snort, didn't say anything more, and didn't even look at Dumbledore and Elena again, turning around and walking straight to Flourish and Blotts.

"That, Professor Dumbledore, I haven't finished bargaining yet…"

Elena gently tugged on Dumbledore's sleeve, and said cautiously.

Although this matter was generally not her fault, and Dumbledore was obviously biased towards her, she was still a little guilty for almost hurting someone.

"I'm really afraid of you. Forget it, dear, I'll make all your clothes for free."

Hearing the silver-haired loli's words, Madam Malkin, who was standing at the door, waved her hand with a headache, looked at Elena and smiled, "I think I might understand why Dumbledore brought you here. It seems that it won't be long before another remarkable witch appears at Hogwarts."

"Eh? It's a deal, thank you beautiful Madam Malkin!"

Elena blinked in surprise, nodded quickly, agreed, then looked up at Dumbledore and said happily, "Then let's go? Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour!"
