101- A Step Forward For Civilization (2)

With more time and an uninterrupted development cycle, the improvement of both Development Trees in Dian’s window panel showed remarkable growth.

Both the Technology Tree and Transcendent Tree were developing fast. But to be able to make the achievement mature was another matter that Dian wanted to realize as soon as possible.

It was a step forward for his civilization. Even the transcendent scientists had created another better Heart of Nature. They stored it in the core of the Transcendent Academy, letting the students acquire its latent power and properly become a low-level transcendent.

The students followed what Tatsumi had taught them and it showed results in just a year.

Other than that, they also developed techniques that suited their own style. They just followed Tatsumi’s advice on how things should be and they started to miss being taught by him.

On the other hand, the research and development team from the Hinon Federation was overwhelmed by the reports about the technology that they could replicate from the appearing spaceship.

“We can manage the smaller ones but for the bigger ones that need dozens of people, I am sorry but we are lacking in personnel.” The researcher reported to the Hinon Science Institute President in his office.

He was available and able to glean at the problem. But it was still unsolvable since the personnel needed could not be fulfilled, even if he wanted to.

“Then what about the progress of the projects? Anything to report?” Tesna asked while sitting in the chair in his office.

“There is some progress but it is still hard to make the technology mature. We have some successful examples but they are not suitable for public use.” The researcher stood straight as he reported the things he had seen.

“That is expected with the available manpower poured into this but who do you think contributed the most during this development?” Tesna asked but he looked like he knew the answer long ago.

The researcher’s eyes lit up as he realized the answer immediately.

“Well, it is actually as we have expected. Miss Charlene has discovered some critical components that could be utilized for our own technological development. It is expected that we can leap forward further with her involvement in this. Although most of her discoveries were coincidental.” The researcher said while commenting on the convenient coincidence but it was a good thing so he only said that part loudly.

“Good. Please leave the report papers on my desk and you can go with your designed task.” Tesna said while gesturing for the researcher to put the papers on the desk.

The researcher did as was commanded before leaving the president’s office.

‘The appearance of the spaceship was the trigger for the quick development of our technology. Is this perhaps the Father God signaling us that our technology development is lagging behind the transcendent development?' Tesna thought while combing his hand through his black hair, his blue eyes glanced at the papers before deciding to read them thoroughly.

Dian and the other four also saw this and knew that Dian’s arrangement was right. But they had a concerned look on their faces. Since they would share the fate with Dian, they worked their hardest for themselves and their races, who were together on the Cerulean Planet.

“Wouldn’t this cause some imbalance?” Leif was the one who spoke first.

Sighing, Dian spoke.

“It is inevitable. When something external comes, it usually comes with a price. This is just a small price for that. Furthermore, we need another reference for the width of the Technological Tree to be able to shoulder the other’s development. This is the first step of doing that.”

Then Chikara spoke next.

“What about the thing in your civilization called Biology? Isn't that also part of the Technology Tree of your civilization? There are some developments because some scientists in the Qin Empire often visited the Hive for sample collection. It looks like that aspect is developed well.”

Dian had to agree with her on this one.

The overall development was important but a certain aspect could change the way his race and the others’ lives even if it was a small one. From fighting with giant beasts and doing melee to fighting with the firepower of their hot weapons and even nuclear weapons, that change happened and Dian became the very witness of that change.

He worried that the change was not always a good result. For example, the development of technologies also caused damage to the planet as a result of powering that change. Although it was still controlled but when it did become large-scale, even Dian would feel overwhelmed by the transformation.

I need to make sure that they develop a technology to counter the damage to the ecosystem so that they can live on the planet comfortably and longer. Dian had been seriously doing this for some time and it showed in the way the civilization handled things.

There was a program to replant the trees that were cut down to preserve the environment, for example. It was done due to the large-scale trees being felled for the needs of the woods as well as the land.

That was one way to counter that action. Although the ones responsible felt a small grudge but they complied in the end after hearing the reasonable explanation and also the possibilities of harvesting these trees in the long term. That was what they had in mind when agreeing to this program.

Dian was glad that the majority of his race understood the importance of nature preservation as much as possible. They also became more oriented to long-term benefit and considered many things before doing something.

That was something that could only appear after a long time of nurturing.

Just as there are positive influences, there are also negative influences from the Library of Consciousness. Fortunately, the negative influence is being suppressed by the positive and creating a prosperous civilization on a large scale. I need to maintain this at least.

Dian knew that the complete elimination of the negative influence was never going to occur due to the very nature of humans themselves. Rather than eliminate it, Dian preferred that humans learned through the negative influence and not make the mistake their predecessor had made.

The others were diligent in observing the change of the entire planet and that made Dian’s job easier. He only needed to regulate important matters that could affect the planet and the civilization on top of it.

Thus, with the usual operation of the Planet Master, time had passed.

Year Sixty-Nine of the Father God Calendar.

It was the time when the technology that was introduced to the civilization could finally be spread to the populace. The commercials were already contacting the scientists involved in a partnership to spread it even further.

This caused a change in the lifestyle of the people as they finally could have a color television, a smaller telephone that could be carried with batteries, the machine improvement at the industrial complex as well as other miscellaneous things that could potentially change the way of life.

Even the weather forecast was being introduced due to the launch of the weather satellite into orbit and could monitor the weather of the entire planet or at least a region with ease. This caused people to be glad that they could finally prepare, unlike before, when the weather changed and they were only guessing blindly.

Furthermore, the computer which the first generation was so large that it could be stored in a warehouse; now it could be miniaturized. It meant that the computer which was still as large as a television, could be made smaller and slimmer than before.

The chips that were used were the first one of their generation. This was inspired by the way the monitor in the spaceship worked and the scientists were finally able to duplicate it into their own device.

The computer did not lose its performance due to this; instead, it increased in its processing speed and storage capacity.

Now, every important institution had computers for its own people. It even spread for personal use and some people bought it.

The second important thing was that the Transcendent Academy saw improvement in their knowledge as well as the technique needed for their transcendents. Due to the joint effort between the transcendent scientists and a certain someone, progress was rapid and the low-level transcendent felt that their options increased so much that they could have the luxury of choice.

Well, despite the people who moved the civilization, there are decisive moments where an individual has to lead the direction of the development. This is actually the purpose of the Star Child. I don’t even guide them much and they still find their purpose in life. How wonderful.

Dian looked at the display in the window panels and saw both Tatsumi and Charlene working hard in their place to affect the others to move further down the path of sustained development.

There were also changes in the environment of the planet due to the Ether saturating the entire planet. One of them was the appearance of the one that Frie called ‘Sovereign Beast’ and ‘Thearch Nymph’.

Sovereign Beast referred to the beast that had assimilated Ether and elevated their entire body to transcend their previous limit, increasing their overall strength.

Thearch Nymph referred to the plants that had absorbed the Ether and increased their capability.

Both would eventually gain sentience and spirituality if they kept their progress of increasing their strength this way.

This was good for the planet as it diversified the living beings in it, not just limited to the sentient races.

“There are seven Sovereign Beasts and seven Thearch Nymphs currently developing their own path to sentience. The surrounding area of these designated creatures is also affected and is developing a special territory. So far so good.” Dian said while looking at each profile of the creatures and noted them down.

The Planet Spirit was also paying attention to these creatures closely so that the others could manage other variables instead.

There was also something that the Transcendent Academy had done recently that caught Dian’s attention.

It was then that they started to sweep through the wilderness in the Comberth Continent searching for transcendent materials, whether the flora or fauna infused with Ether. Usually, they would just cultivate the animals or plants themselves, not looking for them actively.

This trend then spread to the Qin Empire, as their transcendent and the imperial family were also looking for transcendent materials near their territory.

This caused disturbance to the wilderness and the discovery of the strengthened flora and fauna. For the most dangerous territory, they marked it as the forbidden territory for their small group to enter.

This was because Tatsumi just updated the intelligence they had regarding the new strong inhabitant of the wilderness and decided to just forage in the less dangerous territory.

“That should do for their own safety. Only when they are strong enough that they can challenge them and obtain the precious resources from them.” Dian smiled as he had already thought about that happening.

“Report status everyone!” Dian then shouted out loud which shook the entire Planet Master’s Space, and reply soon came.

“The development of technology is steadily improving. Even the entire civilization is utilized for this endeavor.” Leif was the first one to reply.

Despite not being in the Planet Master’s Space, his voice could reach Dian all the way from his current position.

"The Transcendent development is surging like wildfire! Should we just watch?” Ghylea transmitted.

“Keep observing them since it is the aftereffect of my Star Child improving the currently existing technique and new ways to utilize the transcendent materials they currently have.” Dian replied to the line that connected him to Ghylea.

“The movement of the Sovereign Beasts has been recorded and will be used as a reference. The Thearch Nymphs' territory has also been properly established and my race will handle some of them for their growth. Is this enough?” Chikara’s voice was filled with a lack of self-confidence.

“That’s good for now. Continue with the observation and tell me if anything drastic happens.” Dian replied with a firm tone.

“The increased area for living caused the territory of the surface civilization to grab it intensely. There are small discussions as to how to treat the new territory but it is still peaceful. This also caused a small disturbance for all living beings as the planet’s size increased and the empty space needed to be filled. They are pouring toward that ownerless space.” Frie said as part of her report.

“Make sure that they are organized. I don’t want a new conflict in the civilization to occur. I believe that the sea's living beings will gladly fill the space without us telling them to. Just make sure that everything will be stable for the foreseeable future.” Dian replied.

Increasing the planet’s size came with several advantages that Dian had observed so far. One of them was that the resources on the planet would increase altogether. This included water, minerals, soil, metals, and others.

That was why Dian wanted to increase the planet’s size as much as he could but remembering that the civilization had already demarcated their territory, it would raise a conflict if he did the enlargement without considering this variable.

“I need to slowly increase the size but in a certain amount of time. Micromanaging sure is hard.” Dian muttered as he held the impulse of increasing the size of the planet right there.

Despite that, the direction of the development was sure to be great and Dian enjoyed it that much.

The first thing that Tatsumi did after graduating was to assign himself to become a student in the Transcendent Academy. He looked at the communication line that connected to the academy; he still needed to prepare himself for the long stay there.

“I am not sure if I can return periodically but I truly need to go there to further my learning.” That was what he had thought at the time.

Now that he had returned to the academy, he was doing fine as a student. No, he even thrived there because his peers also relied on him for learning.

Furthermore, he was accompanied by the person he had expected to be with him.

“Do you think you can connect with that black sphere that Teacher Charles had brought from the meteorite site?” Ame asked while standing beside Tatsumi.

Tatsumi, on the other hand, was extending his hand and touching the black sphere and felt something tugging at his mind before he landed himself on what Charlene called a mindscape.

‘So this is my mindscape.’ Tatsumi thought while looking at the bright verdant space around him, where the brightest light came from a palace in the distance.

Tatsumi knew that everything in the mindscape was his mind power manifested. It showed his current mind power and he knew that this was connected to his body and consciousness somehow.

‘There it is, the palace that is the representation of one of the Psyche-Locks.’ Tatsumi naturally learned some new things during his few months in the Transcendent Academy and the black sphere was one of them.

He wanted to try it after gaining permission from the Teacher and Transcendent Scientist Charles Xavier. After only gaining the permission did he come to try it for himself.

‘I should try my best when opening the locked palace.’ Tatsumi thought as he approached the bright palace.

He experimented with his now tangible mind power and tried to quickly approach the palace. As if hearing his intent, his feet moved larger and his stride further in one step.

‘During the contact with the black sphere, I can use some of my mind power. Good.’

Tatsumi took some time to arrive at the front of the palace gate. Currently, it was not opened in the slightest so he pushed it by using his mind power and will.

Rumbling echoed through the landscape as the air current swirled atop the palace, as Tatsumi pushed it open.

As the gate opened further, the mindscape was in a mess because Tatsumi put almost all he had into opening the gate that was locked with the chains intermingled with the gate and, by extension, the palace.

‘I can do more than this. More!’ Tatsumi roared in his mind as he stirred it to his arm as the gate opened more and whatever behind it let out a comforting feeling to Tatsumi’s mind.

‘This is…mind power that concentrated so much.’ The more he opened the gate of the palace, the more mind power he could feel belong to him and he utilized it until the point where he could no longer push it any further.

‘So this is my current mind power.’ Tatsumi stopped pushing the gate and looked at his own supposedly body manifestation and felt the power surging within and also the expanding mindscape.

Then he willed himself to get out and when he opened his eyes once more, he had returned to his previous state.

But what he noticed became the most important part of his test.

The flow of transcendent energy within his body became smoother and more easily controlled. This was something that occurred immediately after he had enhanced his mental power, which was tied to his will and affected the transcendent energy.

“Wow, that is amazing.” Tatsumi then dropped his hand and clenched it hard. The transcendent energy quickly gathered on his hand according to his will as quickly as a quarter of a second.

“Just a quarter of a second. That’s fast.” Tatsumi smiled upon realizing that and he could imagine that his attack would become faster and shift more easily during combat.

“Are you done? Is it really impressive?” Ame was looking at Tatsumi the entire time and knew that he had gotten something good during the process.

“Try for yourself and you will know.” Tatsumi gestured for her to try it next. They exchanged turns and now it was Ame’s turn to try.
