Chapter 869: Chapter 871: None of My Business

What the man said left Yang Ming speechless; he hadn’t really hit him, and the man dodged quickly, only stumbling at the very end. It didn’t look like a real fall, so Yang Ming felt this person was dangerous and needed extra caution.

He didn’t want to deal with this person anymore, so he let him continue his act in the yard. Yang Ming turned to go back inside.

But then the man started putting on airs again, shouting, "Beautiful lady, why aren’t you coming out yet? My foot is killing me, all because your husband hit me."

Yang Ming turned to glare at the man. How was he so annoying? Just as he was about to step forward, he heard the door behind him open.

It was Xiaoxiao who walked out from inside, with a smile on her face, heading towards the two.

The man’s grin nearly stretched to his ears when he saw Xiaoxiao come out. He hugged his leg and looked at her, whining, "Beautiful lady, you finally came out. I knew you were soft-hearted and wouldn’t ignore me."

Xiaoxiao approached the man and looked down at him, who was clutching his leg on the ground. Her lips curled slightly as she rolled her eyes at him and threw out, "Injured or not, it’s none of my business."

With that, she looped her arm around Yang Ming’s and rested her head on his shoulder, sweetly saying, "Honey, let’s go back inside and not mind him."

Xiaoxiao’s actions instantly quelled the rage Yang Ming had just felt. He glanced at the guy on the ground, then gently held onto his wife’s hand that was wrapped around his arm and tenderly said, "Wife, let’s go back and not worry about him."

The two of them went back inside with affection all around.

As he watched them go back inside, the man sitting on the ground changed his expression. His lips curled slightly, and his deep eyes gave nothing away. Then, he stood up, brushed off his clothes, and walked away perfectly normally, with no hint of any foot pain.

No sooner had Yang Ming and Xiaoxiao entered the house than Yang Ming broke the silence, cautioning his wife, "Honey, that person is definitely not simple; we need to be careful in the future."

"What did you notice?" Xiaoxiao asked.

Yang Ming shared his thoughts so as not to let his wife fall for that person’s tricks. "That person’s skills aren’t bad; he could easily hold his own against the villagers for a while, yet he was caught quickly. He’s pretending; we don’t know who he is, so it’s better for us to stay on guard."

Upon hearing Yang Ming’s words, Xiaoxiao nodded and recalled the man’s behavior before speaking up, "Honey, he kept talking about his subordinates—it’s possible he’s someone important. Do you think they’ll come to rescue him? Should we tag along?"

Yang Ming thought for a moment and then said, "Whether friendly or hostile, we won’t know. Let’s play it by ear when the time comes and avoid jumping from the frying pan into the fire."

"Yeah, I trust you." Xiaoxiao agreed that Yang Ming made sense; when you’re outside, you have to be cautious and can’t trust just anyone.

Yang Ming couldn’t shake off what the man said to his wife; it unsettled him. "Wife, that guy is infuriating with his words, just ignore him, okay?"

"..." Xiaoxiao pursed her lips, smiling. He was obviously jealous. Seeing his unhappy face, she pinched his cheeks with both hands and said, "Yeah, I’ll ignore him, and only listen to my husband, only focus on my husband—who is that guy anyway? I don’t even know him."
