Chapter 210: Chapter 206: Taking Advantage of My Soft Spot for You (Part 1)
In the apartment, Jin Jumo got up at seven, finished washing up, and came out of the bathroom just as the doorbell rang when she was about to head to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the two little ones.
With surprise flickering in her peach blossom eyes, she hesitantly walked to the door and looked out through the peephole.
The man that appeared in her view made Jin Jumo’s eyes widen abruptly, and she pulled away from the peephole all of a sudden.
She blinked, thinking she had seen wrong, and leaned in to look again.
"..." The result was obvious, Jin Jumo hadn’t seen wrong, wasn’t that someone standing at the door?
But, what on earth was that outfit he was wearing? Trying to scare someone this early in the morning?
The phone rang suddenly.
Jin Jumo sharply turned to look at the phone placed on the table in front of the sofa, her mind flashed, and she looked out through the peephole again.
But suddenly, she met a pair of deep, mesmerizing black eyes like a dark pool.
Her heart skipped a beat abruptly, and Jin Jumo instantly pulled back her gaze, composed herself, and reached out to open the door.
Her body blocked the door, not giving way.
The man, holding the phone, slowly took it from his ear, casually put it into his pocket, and naturally stepped forward to take Jin Jumo’s hand. With an owner’s demeanor, he led the dumbfounded Jin Jumo into the apartment and closed the door behind him.
Coming back to her senses, Jin Jumo took a deep breath, glanced at her hand held in his large one, raised her eyebrows, and tried to pull her hand out of his grasp.
But as soon as she exerted force, he held her fingers even tighter.
Jin Jumo winced slightly in pain, the furrows between her brows deepening, and she looked up at the man.
Her gaze swept over his clothes, unexpectedly flashing harshly for a moment.
"Xixi likes eating buns, right?" the certain someone suddenly said, his hoarse magnetic voice sounding exceptionally gentle and alluring in the morning.
Jin Jumo’s eyelids twitched, and she pursed her lips, looking at him, not understanding the reason for his sudden question.
"I looked up the recipe online last night, planning to make them for Xixi this morning," Rong Mochen said with calm and composure, as if the shock this sentence gave Jin Jumo meant nothing to him.
Jin Jumo’s twitching lips could hardly hold back as she suspiciously stared at him, "You make them?"
Rong Mochen, seeing her skeptical eyes, a touch of redness floated across his handsome face unnaturally, and he gave a deep and steady "I will."
Saying so, he pulled Jin Jumo towards the kitchen while walking, even asking seriously as if he was properly prepared, "Do you have a steamer?"
Children just like good-looking or peculiar food, so steamers, ovens, and such kitchenware are generally kept prepared by Jin Jumo.
Upon hearing this, Jin Jumo nodded.
"How about flour?" Rong Mochen asked.
Jin Jumo lowered her gaze slightly, "Yes, I do."
Rong Mochen slightly raised his eyebrows, looked back at Jin Jumo, "Where is it?"
Jin Jumo’s eyelashes fluttered lightly, and she whispered, "Let go of me first, I’ll get it for you."
"Where is it? I’ll get it," Rong Mochen refused to let go, relishing the warmth of her palm.
Jin Jumo frowned, tentatively pulled her hand again, but still couldn’t pull it out.
She looked somewhat helplessly at the certain someone, raised her hand and pointed to the lowest cabinet of the kitchen cupboard, "It’s in there."
Rong Mochen pursed his lips, led Jin Jumo in, and bent down to get the flour from the cabinet, without letting go of Jin Jumo’s hand.
Jin Jumo was also forced to bend down with him.
When he got up, she had no choice but to straighten up too.
The two of them in the kitchen, just like conjoined twins, wherever one wanted to go, the other had to follow.
Watching Rong Mochen calmly pouring the flour into a small bowl with one hand and adding water, attempting to knead the dough with a single hand.
But after trying several times and realizing it was not working, he looked at Jin Jumo and said, "Give me your other hand."
"..." Jin Jumo looked at him in confusion.
"Hmm?" Rong Mochen raised an eyebrow.
"What do you want to do?" Jin Jumo asked.
"You’ll know once you give it to me," Rong Mochen replied.
Jin Jumo was a bit curious about what he wanted to do, so she handed her hand to him.
Rong Mochen grasped her other hand, a gentle flicker passed through his dark eyes, and after staring at her intently for a moment, he placed her hand into the bowl of flour.
"Hiss..." Jin Jumo gasped in astonishment and stared at Rong Mochen.
"I can’t do it alone, help me," Rong Mochen said softly while looking at her.
Jin Jumo understood his purpose, and instantly fell speechless, didn’t she?
Realizing Jin Jumo’s reluctance to cooperate, Rong Mochen paused for a moment, then said lightly, "Hurry up, you don’t want the kids to go to kindergarten hungry, do you?"
"..." Jin Jumo’s eyelid twitched, "Didn’t you say you were going to do it yourself?"
"Now I think it’s more meaningful for us to make food for the kids together," Rong Mochen said matter-of-factly.
Jin Jumo looked at his handsome profile, pouted her lips slightly, and murmured, "What’s meaningful about it?"
Rong Mochen didn’t reply, seemingly focused on kneading the dough.
After a while, seeing that Jin Jumo didn’t make any moves, Rong Mochen couldn’t help but purse his lips and look at her, "Hurry up."
Jin Jumo’s eyes flashed quickly, but she still cooperated and started kneading.
However, compared to doing it alone swiftly, working together like this was not only unusually slow, but the effect wasn’t very good either.
Fortunately, when it came to wrapping the sugar buns, someone didn’t require them to work together. Instead, he finally let go of Jin Jumo’s hand and, with a serious demeanor, clumsily wrapped them.
Jin Jumo glanced at the sugar buns he wrapped and had a feeling that no one would want to eat them because... they were so unsightly.
At eight o’clock, Jin Jumo went to wake the two little ones.
The two little ones were reluctant to leave the warmth of their beds and were not easily awakened.
So Jin Jumo took direct action, picking up Xixi, whose eyes were barely open, out of bed, swiftly dressed her, and tucked her back into bed, then moved over to Hanhan, dressing him similarly.
Hanhan was a heavy sleeper, but very alert.
He was already awake when Jin Jumo was dressing him, but he couldn’t bear to open his eyes yet, frowning his little eyebrows as he let Jin Jumo handle him.
Finally getting both little ones dressed, Jin Jumo had a thin layer of sweat on her forehead. Watching Hanhan, who had just gotten dressed, roll back into the covers, she shook her head in amusement.
Hanhan dawdled in bed for two more minutes before slowly opening his eyes, staring steadily at Jin Jumo, who was standing by the bed looking at him gently, "Mommy."
"Hmm." Jin Jumo leaned forward, gave his cheek a kiss, "Time to get up, darling."
Hanhan closed his eyes, stretched out his little chubby arms to tightly hug Jin Jumo’s neck, rubbing his face against hers in a spoiled manner, "So sleepy."
Jin Jumo carried him towards the bathroom, dotingly saying, "When are you not sleepy?"
"Heh..." Hanhan was amused, his little face suddenly burrowing into Jin Jumo’s neck, saying without much thought, "Having Mommy is enough."
Jin Jumo’s steps paused slightly, she lowered her eyes to look at the little figure in her arms, slowly pulling the corners of her mouth, giving him a kiss on his little forehead, "Mommy loves you."
"Me too."
Xixi typically had her breakfast in the car.
Today, Xixi wore an adorable knitted dress that covered her little bottom, with a long pink cartoon down jacket as the outer layer.
Sitting in the car, Xixi stared curiously at the unidentifiable object in her lunch box for a while without taking any action.
Beside her, Hanhan glanced at the "bun" in the lunch box, then quickly turned his eyes away with a look of not being able to bear seeing it.
Rong Mochen sat in the driver’s seat, his eyes seemingly staring straight ahead unwaveringly, but Jin Jumo still noticed the corner of his eyes would occasionally glance back, and every time he did, his expression tightened.
Jin Jumo squinted slightly, slowly turning her face towards the car window.
"Mommy, what is this?" Xixi asked curiously while looking at the back of Jin Jumo’s head.
Jin Jumo’s lips twitched, turned to look at Xixi in the back seat, thought for a moment, and said, "I think it’s a bun."
"A bun?" Xixi blinked strangely, with a little expression of ’don’t think you can fool me because I’m young,’ pouting, "This is not a bun."
"What do you think it is?" Before Jin Jumo could speak, Hanhan asked first.
Xixi hugged her little water bottle, took a sip of milk, smacked her little lips, swallowed, then looked up at Hanhan, saying innocently, "I don’t know, can this be eaten?"
Uh...
Hanhan shrugged his little shoulders, said, "Try eating it, you might be surprised."
Surprised?
Xixi tilted her little head, staring at the buns in her lunch box for a while, then slowly extended two chubby fingers to grab a bun, carefully placing it in her little mouth and taking a bite.
The taste was a bit dry, somewhat like steamed buns, so Xixi said, "It’s a steamed bun, isn’t it?"
"..." A certain person’s lips twitched in the driver’s seat, his face turning half-black.
Seeing Rong Mochen’s reaction, Hanhan pursed his lips, eyes sparkling with interest as he watched Xixi, "No, try another bite."
Xixi frowned hesitantly, "But I don’t want to eat. Brother’s lying, there’s no surprise at all."
"There is, there is. Keep eating." Hanhan encouraged.
"...Really?" Xixi asked innocently.
Hanhan nodded firmly.
So Xixi took another bite, but the texture was still the same as before, and Xixi angrily looked at Hanhan, "Brother, you lied to me!"
"No, try one more bite, there’s definitely a surprise, good sister, keep going." Hanhan, acting like a very patient brother, patted his sister’s bangs, encouragingly said.
Xixi, rarely being captured by her brother’s tenderness, though unwillingly, still forced herself to open her little mouth and take another bite.
But still, there was nothing but dry bread, no surprise at all!
Xixi’s eyes welled up with tears, firmly believing that her brother was playing tricks on her.
She tearfully looked at Jin Jumo and complained, "Mommy, brother always lies to me."
Jin Jumo glanced at the bun in Xixi’s hand, which had been bitten three times without reaching the sugar filling, awkwardly licked her lips, "Really?"
"Yes." Xixi nodded, "Brother said I’d find a surprise, but after three bites, there’s still nothing. I hate brother."
Jin Jumo felt like laughing, playfully glancing at Hanhan.
Hanhan innocently shrugged, "There was a surprise initially, she just didn’t get to it."
"I took three bites, okay?" Xixi gestured with her chubby fingers, saying purely.
