Chapter 444: Unwavering Love

He had been with Du Di since he was a child. He saw Du Di as his idol. He would listen to any of Du Di’s commands, and he believed that whatever Du Di decided was right. Even though he knew that Du Di was making such an unwise decision for a woman, he still obeyed.

He believed that even if there was a problem and the Du family faced a crisis, Du Di would be able to solve it.

He couldn’t understand what was so special about Wen Nuan that Du Di, who had always loved Du Yueying, would treat his own sister so heartlessly, to the point that she couldn’t even go back home. He didn’t understand what kind of magic Wen Nuan had.

Now, his only hope was that this matter could be resolved peacefully, that the Du family wouldn’t get into any trouble, and that Du Yueying would be more sensible and stop going against Wen Nuan. Otherwise, the Du family might never have a peaceful day again.

Ye Feimo woke up on the morning of the third day.

Cheng Anya was with him. Ye Ningyuan and Xu Nuo had also moved back to A City. The whole family was at the hospital with him. Even though he had gotten through it, and Bai Ye said that the future surgeries wouldn’t be a big problem, Wen Nuan was still worried that something else might happen. She took care of Ye Feimo herself, giving it her all, hoping that he would be able to overcome the cancer.

Ye Kelan was the most lively and cute. When Ye Feimo felt a little better, she would sit by his bed and tell him jokes. He had just had surgery and was very weak. He couldn’t move and was bedridden all day. Little Kelan was afraid that he would get bored, so she would tell him all kinds of random jokes.

Ye Feimo loved Ye Kelan very much. The men in the Ye family all doted on women, whether they were their wives, daughters, or nieces. Women were a treasure in their eyes. Even though Ye Feimo wasn’t in the mood to laugh, he still played along, which made little Kelan even more excited.

She was young, but she knew a lot. Growing up in that environment, it was impossible for Ye Ningyuan to raise her as a princess in a greenhouse. Besides, their way of raising children was all about letting them develop freely. Little Kelan was not mentally young. She knew that Ye Feimo had gone through a lot recently and that he was not well. The little girl put away her usual mischievousness and became very thoughtful and well-behaved.

She made Ye Feimo happy.

Cheng Anya was also happy to see this. Ye Ningyuan and Xu Nuo had just come back, and they had a lot of things to get. Other than visiting Ye Feimo at the hospital, the couple spent most of their time shopping. They were very busy.

Ye Feimo’s body would need some time to recover before he could have another surgery. Bai Ye and Su Man also went to the surrounding cities to sightsee and would perform the second surgery on Ye Feimo after a while. The next few surgeries weren’t as risky, and Ye Feimo knew that himself.

Cheng Anya was very worried about him. Even though he didn’t seem to be acting strangely, he was even more silent.

Ye Feimo had always been a quiet child. But even when he was quiet, he still had some life in him. But now, when she looked at him, he had no life in him at all. He was lifeless. Wen Nuan’s departure had taken his soul with her.

She thought that Feimo might have even preferred to die on the operating table.

If he died, he wouldn’t have to face the endless torture.

"The day you had your surgery, Wen Nuan sat outside the operating room all night. She only left after she knew you were out of danger," Cheng Anya told Ye Feimo. She didn’t want to hide it from him.

She wanted Ye Feimo to have someone to think about, so he would want to live when he was on the operating table.

No matter how skilled a doctor was, they needed a cooperative patient.

Ye Feimo seemed very surprised. He thought Cheng Anya was lying to him. He turned his head away with a blank expression. The flash of light in his eyes seemed like her imagination. Cheng Anya said helplessly, "Feimo, I’m not lying to you. Wen Nuan really did stay with you all night. Your dad knows about this too. He wouldn’t lie to you."

Ye Feimo’s fingertips trembled, but he said with a hard voice, "So what?"

Cheng Anya was speechless. *Yeah, so what? What can you do about it?*

How could she answer him?

"Nothing. I just wanted to let you know, so you don’t have to wonder why she didn’t come to see you," Cheng Anya said with a laugh. She didn’t want to expose what was on his mind, but who knew he was so stubborn?

"I wasn’t wondering," Ye Feimo said coldly.

Cheng Anya surrendered. "Okay, if you say you weren’t, then you weren’t."

Ye Kelan excitedly ran in, holding a small cake. "Uncle, I bought you your favorite cheesecake. It’s so delicious. Can I cut it for you?"

Ye Feimo was a little surprised. Cheesecake?

His tastes had changed. He didn’t really like cakes, except for cheesecake. He used to eat it sometimes. But after he got together with Wen Nuan, his tastes changed a lot. Now he liked blueberry cake because Wen Nuan liked it, and he got used to it and started to like it too.

It had been a long time since he had eaten cheesecake.

"Your uncle can’t eat that. It’s too cold. You should eat it yourself," Cheng Anya said. Ye Kelan looked disappointed and stuck out her tongue. She said casually, "I saw my aunt at the hospital just now."

Ye Feimo was surprised. Cheng Anya raised an eyebrow and looked at the mischievous Ye Kelan. She secretly laughed. She didn’t know if the girl was telling the truth or not. Ye Kelan’s eyes were wide and innocent as she tried to prove that she was telling the truth.

"It’s true. Auntie said she wasn’t feeling well and came to the hospital to get some medicine. I told her that you were very weak and about to die from sadness. Auntie’s face looked so bad, and I saw her crying." Ye Kelan said innocently. Cheng Anya knew that her granddaughter and innocence were definitely not related. Why would she lie to Wen Nuan for no reason?

Ye Feimo was expressionless. Ye Kelan giggled. "Uncle, I’m so smart, right? Auntie feels so bad for you."

Cheng Anya didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Ye Feimo looked at Ye Kelan and said indifferently, "It has nothing to do with me. Kelan, she’s not your aunt anymore."

"How can that be? She’ll be my aunt again sooner or later," Ye Kelan said mischievously. She looked at Cheng Anya playfully and ate the cake she had bought for Ye Feimo in small bites. Even though Ye Feimo was expressionless, there was a ripple in his heart.

*Wen Nuan...*

*Is there still a chance for us?*

*Can she change her mind?*

He was so pathetic. Even now, his heart was still thinking about her, thinking about getting back together, thinking about so many things. There was no room for cancer or anything else in his mind. There was only Wen Nuan, Wen Nuan...

It was all her. She occupied his heart all the time.

But he hated her heartlessness.
