Chapter 443: The Weight of a Lie

Su Man was a neat freak. Ye Sanshao and Cheng Anya knew that. The lounge was very clean and had a lavender scent.

They were indeed tired. They went to rest without saying much to Ye Sanshao and Cheng Anya.

Wen Nuan thought it was a little strange. There was only one bed in the lounge. Were the two big men going to sleep in one bed?

She felt that something was odd, but she couldn’t put her finger on what.

The surgery made her emotions go on a rollercoaster ride. She was also very tired and didn’t think much about it. After the surgery, she waited outside the intensive care unit. Cheng Anya said, "Nuan Nuan, you must be tired. Go home and rest. I’ll let you know if there’s any news."

Wen Nuan shook her head, unwilling to leave.

"I’ll leave in the morning. I don’t have anything to do at home anyway." She would rather stay here and fight alongside Feimo against death. She wanted to be the first to know that Ye Feimo was okay.

When Wen Nuan was stubborn, no one could change her mind. Cheng Anya didn’t say anything more. Tang Shuwen and Chen Xueru went back first. Ye Sanshao and Cheng Anya stayed at the hospital. There were empty rooms on this floor. Cheng Anya wanted to let Wen Nuan rest, but Wen Nuan insisted on waiting outside. They had no choice but to go and rest themselves.

The nurses were watching the intensive care unit. If anything changed, she would wake them up.

Her parents were worried about Wen Nuan not coming home so late. They called Wen Nuan, and she said, "Feimo’s surgery was successful. I’m tired and want to walk around a bit before going back. You two should go to bed first."

She sat on the cold bench alone, waiting all night.

When Cheng Anya woke up the next day, Wen Nuan was no longer in the hallway. She asked the nurse and found out that Wen Nuan had left at six in the morning and also that Feimo was out of danger.

When Wen Nuan knew that he was out of danger, she left without a moment’s hesitation.

Although he was out of danger, Ye Feimo hadn’t woken up. He was transferred to a regular VIP room. Bai Ye saw that all of his vital signs were back to normal. Except for his blood pressure, which was a little low, there were no other major problems.

Su Man and Bai Ye were staying in A City for a while because Feimo had a few more surgeries to do. It was too tiring to go back and forth, so they decided to stay in A City and walk around in their spare time.

Su Man didn’t like coming to A City, and he especially didn’t like going to crowded places.

No matter where he went, his appearance would attract attention. On top of that, he had long hair that went down to his waist. People in the country were relatively conservative, and they thought his appearance and style were strange, so Su Man rarely traveled within the country.

Bai Ye, on the other hand, came often. He wouldn’t force Su Man to do things he didn’t like, but he also wouldn’t give up the fun of traveling alone for Su Man. Although, every time he went out, he would go back after only a few days.

Wen Nuan went home, turned off her phone, and went straight to bed.

When her mother asked about Ye Feimo’s condition, she just said that he was safe and didn’t say anything else.

Now that the thing that had been weighing on her mind was resolved, she felt a lot more relaxed. Wen Nuan slept all night. When she woke up, she received a call from the visa office. Her paperwork was almost done, and there were no problems with the university.

Wen Nuan thought about it and booked a flight online to America in ten days.

After she booked the flight, Du Di called and asked with a smile, "Do you want me to find a place for you in America? It’s right near your university, so it’ll be convenient."

Wen Nuan laughed and shook her head. "No, my teacher will take care of it."

Originally, she had planned to go with Du Di if Ye Feimo refused to let go and wouldn’t get a divorce. She would have deliberately provoked him into getting a divorce. But now that Ye Feimo had agreed to the divorce, there was no need for her to go with Du Di. If she could, she wanted to keep her distance from him.

Du Yueying’s incident was a lesson. She vaguely knew that Du Yueying had hurt her not because of the qipao, but because of Du Di. It wouldn’t be good if she got too close to Du Di and got on Du Yueying’s nerves.

She couldn’t afford to get into trouble with her, but she could avoid it.

Du Di would take care of Du Yueying. She was a very calculating woman. She hadn’t fallen for it when Du Yueying came back to A City. This woman was very strong-willed and very smart. Wen Nuan had always known how to behave, so there was no need to provoke her.

"Are you sure you don’t need my help?"

"I’m really fine," Wen Nuan said tactfully. She changed the subject. "By the way, have you found your sister?"

There was a pause. Du Di said, "She’s in Europe, hiding very well. I don’t have any news of her right now. Don’t worry, she won’t hurt you again."

Wen Nuan gave a cold laugh in her heart. *She won’t hurt me? How could I believe that?*

Du Yueying had said that if she and Feimo got a divorce and she lost the Ye family’s protection, she would destroy her.

Now that she and Ye Feimo had divorced as Du Yueying had said, Du Yueying probably wouldn’t let her go. She hoped that Du Di could keep his sister in check and not cause her any trouble.

"Okay, I understand," Wen Nuan said. "It’s late. I’m going to go eat something. I’m hanging up."

"Okay, let’s keep in touch when you get there," Du Di said gently. Wen Nuan nodded and hung up.

Du Di sat alone in his study and squinted his eyes. He called Jing Nan in. "Do you have any news about my sister?"

Jing Nan said, "She’s on a small island in Europe."

Du Di grunted coldly. "Find her and bring her back."

"Sir, I’m afraid... she won’t be willing," Jing Nan said. Du Yueying was hiding very well. She deliberately chose to hide in places where others wouldn’t dare to go. She knew that no one would dare to mess with her. She was living a carefree life overseas.

Du Di’s eyes turned cold. It was no longer an option not to teach Du Yueying a lesson. If she heard that Wen Nuan was coming to America to study, she would definitely come back. He didn’t know what she would do then. He had to stop her.

"Spread the word that I’m critically ill," Du Di said coldly, looking down at his documents.

Jing Nan looked at Du Di in surprise. He said uncertainly, "Sir?"

"Spread the word that I’m critically ill," Du Di repeated. Jing Nan understood him completely. He nodded and left. "Yes, I understand."

Spreading the news that Du Di was critically ill was no small matter. The Du family was an old arms dealer in America. They also had many ties to the criminal underworld. The terrorist organization had been putting a lot of pressure on the Du family recently, and their title as the top arms dealer was in jeopardy. Spreading the news that he was critically ill would be a disaster for the Du family. *Was it really worth it for a woman?*

Jing Nan didn’t know.
