Chapter 466: 462, Xiaoman’s Date
When entering the inpatient department, Nathan Moore’s gaze tightened, still echoing with the conversation he had with Evander Lancaster last night.
...Heart disease is generally congenital or genetically inherited...the likelihood of it being caused by medical drugs later in life is very small...
Before entering the elevator, Nathan Moore made a phone call...
Titus Zane took a ride and went straight back to the hotel, not to Nathan Moore’s villa.
He said he would take care of everything...so she decided to wait until he had sorted everything out before making a decision.
She ordered room service to fill her stomach and after eating, bathed and laid down on the bed to catch up on sleep.
Perhaps out of happiness, or simply because she was truly exhausted from the flight back, she quickly fell asleep upon lying down.
When she woke up, it was already afternoon. After freshening up, Titus Zane prepared to visit her mother, Ariana Evans.
Before leaving, she wanted to make a phone call. Upon sliding open her phone, she saw several missed calls.
There were calls from Nathan Moore, and two were from Xiaoman.
After thinking it through, Titus Zane decided to call Xiaoman back first.
"Xiaoman? What’s up, did you need me for something?"
"Carry, I’m going back overseas, and I wanted to see you before I leave, after being partners for so many years."
Xiaoman’s words touched Titus Zane; she had put a lot of effort into the company, yet when she left, Sister Hua didn’t even offer a single word of goodbye.
"Thank you, Xiaoman,"
"Oh, carry, with our relationship, there’s no need for thanks. I’m currently in T-city, how about we set a time to meet up before I go back to report to the headquarters?"
"Okay," After arranging a time with Xiaoman, Titus Zane also called her mother, Ariana Evans, who was off work that afternoon.
After buying some gifts at the store, Titus Zane took a ride back to the Zane Family home.
Upon hearing of her return, Ariana Evans had already instructed the kitchen to prepare dinner, as Julian Zane hadn’t come home from work yet, and the large villa had only the female mistress at home.
With father not at home, Titus Zane felt more at ease; otherwise, facing her father’s cold demeanor would make her very uncomfortable.
"Lily, you don’t need to bring gifts when you come back home, we’re family," After sitting down together on the couch, Ariana Evans asked caringly, "Lily mentioned you quit your job, are you unhappy with it?"
Ariana Evans’s attitude remained as caring and gentle as ever, with no signs of anything amiss.
"Mom, you know, besides painting, I’m not good at anything else." Titus Zane smiled as she explained, and Ariana Evans patted her on the hand, laughing, "Yes, my daughter is a great artist after all, how could you do the rough work that ordinary people are meant to do?"
"Mom, look at you, what are you saying,"
"I’m telling the truth," Ariana Evans squeezed Titus Zane’s hand tighter, smiling from the bottom of her heart. When she looked at her daughter, her eyes revealed a mother’s genuine admiration, without a trace of pretense.
Titus Zane smiled and casually asked, "Mom, whose genes did my artistic talent come from, yours or Dad’s?"
The smile on Ariana Evans’s face visibly paused for a brief moment, but Titus Zane’s keen perception caught it.
"Silly child, why have you become superstitious? There’s no such thing as that. When you were young, I wanted to raise you like a little princess, so I sent you to hobby classes. Unexpectedly, you really took a liking to painting, and then you kept at it."
While Ariana Evans’s explanation was plausible, Titus Zane knew in her heart that it wasn’t the case at all.
Her childhood memories were vague, but she remembered being scolded by her father for doodling with a pen on paper once... If she remembered correctly, her father was opposed to her learning to paint.
