Chapter 401: Chapter 401: The One I Want Is Only You

At the next intersection, in a hurry, Summer Sutton got off the bus and stood by the roadside, planning to wait for the next bus to take her back.

However, she had been standing at the roadside for almost half an hour and hadn’t encountered a single car.

Helpless, Summer Sutton could only walk in the direction of home.

She thought as she walked, if she saw a car, she would stop it along the way.

Today, for a job interview, she was wearing business attire, stilettos, and a suit skirt.

The heels were too thin, not convenient for walking. On the way back, not only was there no car in sight, but she also twisted her ankle, swelling it up quite high.

She thought about calling Adrian Walyon to pick her up but after picking up the phone, she put it back in her bag.

Adrian had been busy preparing for a new company lately, with lots of things on his plate, and Summer didn’t want to trouble him with something so trivial.

So she simply took off her high heels and, enduring the pain, continued walking down the deserted seaside road.

She didn’t know how long she had been walking when a private car happened to pass by.

Seeing her limping, a person inside the car quietly stared at her for a while before pulling over in front of her.

The car window rolled down, and when Summer saw the person inside, she was startled, "Jimmy..."

Ryan Walyon pushed open the car door and got out.

His eyes fell on her from top to bottom, staring at her swollen ankle which looked like a pig’s head, and his brows furrowed slightly.

After a long while, he softly said, "Long time no see!"

Actually, it hadn’t been that long, just close to a month or so.

However, he felt as if it had been a century.

"Yes, long time no see." Summer Sutton smiled slightly.

"Get in the car, I’ll take you! Meanwhile, we can catch up." Ryan Walyon gestured to the car beside them.

"I’m fine, I can walk by myself." Summer stood still, leaning on her support.

"What are you worried about? Do you think I’ll eat you up?" Ryan Walyon sarcastically remarked.

Feeling helpless, Summer could only get into the car.

Coincidentally, there were many things she wanted to talk to him about.

Once she was settled in, Ryan Walyon slowly started the car.

"Tell me about what’s been going on with you recently!" His speed was very slow, as if he didn’t want the journey to end too fast.

The long coastline stretched as far as the eyes could see.

"I’m doing well, and Adrian is too. Although we left the Walyon Family, it hasn’t affected us at all." Summer kept her gaze outside the window, staring at the azure seascape.

"Is that so?" Ryan Walyon responded to her lightly.

Summer then thought of what Gina had mentioned earlier, "I just saw Gina Sutton and heard that you two are getting married!"

"Hmm." Ryan Walyon did not deny it.

"Why?" Summer Sutton couldn’t understand him.

Ryan Walyon obviously didn’t seem like someone who would let others dictate his life; was he really going to follow his grandfather’s arrangement?

Or, did he not believe what she told him at the hospital back then?

"Jimmy, I told you, that child was not yours, believe me! Gina’s the one who miscarried, it wasn’t the Walyon Family’s child. She couldn’t possibly let the child be born! Jimmy, trust me for once!" She became somewhat anxious and believed the responsibility shouldn’t fall on Gina.

Ryan Walyon actually understood everything very clearly, but, after her words, he merely slightly pulled at the corners of his mouth.

Turning his head, his gaze seemed profound as he looked at her, "Summer, do you know? It doesn’t matter to me who I marry."

What he really wanted was only one person.

And that person now belonged to someone else...
