Chapter 179: A plan with a god
A new goal and destination had been established. They would plan. They would find their way into the mountains.
Ash wasn’t sure what to do with all the new information.
But the fact he now knew where his daughter was, it was enough to help keep his head above water. He’d been drowning in thoughts of anger and sadness. He’d lost everything. His wife and daughter. Both gone. But now, now he at least had a chance at finding one.
He was destroyed over Violet leaving, but if what the Leviathan said is true.
’What would happen to Violet?’ He asked
Violet had run out of the meeting space, just like that. He wanted to chase after her. But he stopped himself that time.
Violet wasn’t Violet anymore she was something else, someone else, entirely. His once gentle maiden and kind queen was now the DarkSon. Possessed by a literal god. Her body was shared two souls. And no one’s body can handle that. He thought about what it would mean for her, how she’d burn through energy.
She’d feed, a lot.
Violet escaped from the camp. She wasn’t sure how long she ran for or far she’d gotten, but it was near dawn now. She surveyed the area, checking out her surroundings. She was pretty far, and in unfamiliar area.
Tears poured down her face, not just from sadness, but from pure unadulterated rage.
That slimy bastard, standing with Lilith, like he owned her. She was ours.
Ours?
She froze, stopping dead in her tracks and that’s when she felt it, like she was struck in the chest with a truth.
Violet’s head was spinning. Her eyes flickering from magenta to red. A war broke out in her mind. She grabbed her head, shaking it back and forth, her hair whipping violently around her and she screamed.
Birds scattered to the wind, insects silenced, trees shook with ferocity from the sheer force of her scream.
Something was drawing her inward. Pulling her inside her own mind.
She dropped to her knees shrieking in frustration anger and pain.
She was being tormented from the inside.
Her mind was a dark cell, trapping her.
She felt dirty, and disgusting. Something sticky and grotesque crawled out from the back of her mind and gave itself a seat the table. So to speak
The sensation made her skin prickle.
The aura was suffocating, threads of power spread around the inside of her mind, coiling around her and attaching itself to her. Veins of black formed incasing her, slithering across the floor.
Pulsating.
Waiting.
"We finally meet." A grim voice spoke inside her mind.
A man appeared from the deepest, darkest part of her mind.
He was handsome, and he looked an awful lot like the Leviathan. Thick, long, dark, hair. Eye’s that glowed red. However, this man standing before her had enormous dragon horns protruding from his head. He brought with him the stench of death and an aura that screamed something sinister and vengeful. Everything in her told her to move to run away. But she was rooted to the floor, her feet frozen, unable to move.
Fear took hold of her. her breath caught in her throat.
"Who are you?"
"I am the power you traded your body for." He answered.
"If you are power, than how do you have the form of a man?" Violet questioned.
"I am a special kind of power. A godly power. I need a host body, and you need power, nothing else really matters, does it?" He spoke with smoothness and unbelievable levels of charisma.
Violet wasn’t so sure about that. She knew a bad idea when she saw one.
"What are you second guessing? I mean, I won’t force you to accept the power to get your daughter back, if you don’t want it, I can just leave." He said, he pulled the threads from her mind and began walking away.
A wave of panic crashed into her and desperation struck like lightning. She yelled, "Wait!"
Facing away from her a small, evil smirk rose in the corners of his mouth. He knew exactly how to push her buttons.
He waited thousands of years for this. He had it all planned out; he wouldn’t give up that easy. He was a master of manipulation, he knew exactly what he was doing.
"Yes?" He asked in a calm voice, masking his insincerity.
"How can you help me?" Violet asked.
"Ah, so you are interested in a mutually beneficial exchange?" He raised an eyebrow at her.
"I’m interested in hearing about it." She answered, not wanting to sound too eager or desperate.
But she was, she was dying every single second of everyday without Odette.
"You need power to take back what’s yours. I have the power to do that, you have a body, and I need a place to stay, if you agree to host me, host my power, I will provide full use of my powers, and we will get your daughter back and get the revenge you seek deep in our heart, the revenge for taking what’s yours, and for what they did to you all those years ago." He made it sound so simple, like there was nothing to it, nothing to really think about.
Her heart ached when he mentioned her abduction to the CrystalBay Pack.
He was grinning on the inside, but the outside remained calm and charismatic. Luring Violet a false sense of security.
For Violet, he was saying all the right words. Power and her daughter.
"So, you will get my daughter back? You will take out that godforsaken pack who took her from me? You sure you can do that." She tried the hint of hope in her voice, but he noticed it.
He had her right where he wanted her.
"I am the power of a god in flesh, so to speak." He realized he wasn’t in flesh; he could only be seen in his like this inside the mind of his host.
Cursed MoonChild, this time, he’d destroy her.
This time, he wouldn’t lose. He would fulfill his creators wishes. He’d destroy the mortals and this world. He would make them pay for their disregard of Cerberus.
