Chapter 2448: Caught Sleeping.
They sealed off the entire house with webs so that exit and entry had become forbidden. Anyone who stepped into the webs would fall under the control of the Marionette divine ability.
Even if the webs can’t catch and control the person who wandered into it, they can form a blockade that will hinder movement and the web can still inform Legion of movement in the region so that they won’t be caught unaware.
This didn’t mean that the demigod was trapped, though. After all, there could be secret underground passages that led out of the compound that Legion wasn’t aware of. But this was the best that they could do with what they had.
The demigod’s house was also protected by arrays. So Legion couldn’t enter the house directly to attack the demigod.
What they did to solve this problem was to sneak into the house. It was easy to do thanks to their current hidden state.
They snuck into the house with the servants and guards. Then they made their way over to the demigod and got close enough to touch him.
The demigod was sleeping when they came up to him. He didn’t sense them at all and was still sleeping despite danger being so close to him.
Even though he was sleeping, the demigod undying wasn’t in a defenseless state. He had his Aegis Shield on his body, so he was protected from sudden attacks.
The first thing that Legion did was to shift their current human form into the divine beast form of the pathway of killing. After they did this, they began using all of their means to prepare a thunderous attack.
Their weapon of choice was still a bloody limb. They enhanced this blood limb and layered it with all of their divine abilities.
Even the physical boost from the Power of Wealth divine ability was also used to enhance it. When the attack was ready, they reached out to touch the undying godclad with their hand.
Once they made contact with the undying godclad, they used the Disable divine ability of the pathway of error on him. The target of the divine ability could only be the Aegis Shield, as it is the only thing that they can affect on the demigod.
The Aegis Shield flared to life once they touched it. It shone with a bright purple color.
The purple shield tried to resist what they did to it. But it couldn’t because this was a divine ability specifically made to disable divine abilities. So the purple shield flickered and disappeared.
The demigod had snapped awake by now. There was no way he could remain asleep after being touched and losing one of his most important divine abilities.
The eyes of the demigod snapped awake, and he roared in anger, "Who dares?"
He was only feigning anger, though. The main emotion he was feeling was fear.
The fear was overwhelming because his danger sense divine ability was finally working, and it was telling him that if he wasn’t careful, he would die.
So even though he looked ready to punish whoever had disturbed his sleep. His true and first priority is to escape.
Unfortunately for him, it was too late to escape. What came as a reply to his question was the thunderous attack that Legion had been preparing for him.
He didn’t even get to leave the bed before the attack struck him. The attack tore through his body, shattered his body, and scattered his body to pieces. Then the blood limb began to absorb his flesh.
His fate was even worse than that of the demigod noble. After all, the noble still had a body after being hit with the attack. His body was severely injured, but it was still in better shape than the body of the demigod undying.
The body of the demigod undying was scattered to pieces, with each piece no bigger than a coin. This was partly because Legion was stronger now after the Power of the Wealth divine ability absorbed the gold of the slain demigod noble and because without the Aegis Shield, the undying demigod was crippled.
The demigod noble had a lot of protection when Legion’s attack had struck him. But the demigod undying had no protection because without the Aegis Shield, he couldn’t use many of his divine abilities.
So the demigod undying, who was supposed to be very difficult to kill, died with just one attack. However, that didn’t mean that the hunt was over.
The undying godclad still had the rank 5 Regeneration divine ability and a lot of spiritual energy, so he could still recover. So even though he looked in a state more miserable than that of the demigod noble, that was just on the surface.
The demigod undying could still recover from this attack. So Legion began absorbing the scattered flesh so the target’s divine regeneration ability couldn’t kick in and save him.
They also used the stun divine ability and the bleed divine ability to delay the regeneration. This worked very well, but they didn’t stop there.
They began trying to enslave the undying godclad. But before they could succeed, the tides of the battle turned against them.
In just an instant, the scattered flesh of the demigod undying gathered together and reformed his body. This revived him and put him back into a peak state.
This peak state meant that not only did he have full spiritual energy, but also every injury and affliction had been healed or neutralized. One of the afflictions that was neutralized was the effect of the Disable divine ability on his Aegis Shield.
Even the stun and bleeding status effects that Legion had applied on him had been removed. This was why the divine ability was called the Restore and Revive divine ability.
So the demigod had lost one of his lives. But in exchange, he was back in perfect condition and can resist with everything he has now.
This made Legion say in awe, "Impressive."
