Chapter 441 The Little Resource Princess

The next day, Song Xi adjusted her mood and went to the recording studio for reshoots. She was excited, but work was more important now. After work, she felt she needed to have a serious talk with Lou Yuming.

Fortunately, what was filmed yesterday was a pilot episode, an interview and Q&A. It didn't delay any progress.

The collaboration for "The Struggler" was with an advertising company renowned both within and outside the industry. Entering this company required passing through layers of interviews and selections. The three design mentors guiding them were all famous and respected giants in their fields, so even if one treated this show merely as a stepping stone for exposure, they could still learn a lot.

Besides Song Xi, Jin Ying, and Mi Xuan, the remaining three artists included two male artists and one female artist.

Jin Ying introduced them to Song Xi.

The two male artists were Wen Junying, who had permed curly hair and was an artist specializing in bel canto singing, and the shyer one, Gao Yuan, who had acted in two dramas but only as a supporting male character, with less than a hundred thousand Weibo followers.

Song Xi nodded thoughtfully.

Jin Ying continued, "The girl is Zhai Yixuan. She's a child prodigy who collaborated with many famous directors at a very young age. She's very talented in acting and is someone the audience has watched grow up."

Song Xi blurted out, "I've seen her acting! 'White Pigeons on the Plain'!"

Zhai Yixuan, who was ahead, heard her and turned around.

Jin Ying patted Song Xi's shoulder, gritting her teeth, "Why are you shouting so loud!"

Seeing Zhai Yixuan walking over, Song Xi also panicked and whispered, "How was I supposed to know..."

"Hello."

Zhai Yixuan extended her hand proactively. She looked very young, seeming barely an adult, with a face full of collagen, looking cute and innocent.

Song Xi extended her hand and gave a light shake, "Hello."

Song Xi expected some pleasantries to follow, but Zhai Yixuan simply greeted them and turned away, showing no inclination for small talk.

Jin Ying covered her mouth and whispered, "She's very slow to warm up. Yesterday, Mi Xuan proactively greeted her, and she didn't even respond. After a few minutes, she finally said 'Hello.' Isn't that weird?"

Song Xi was stunned.

Jin Ying glanced at her, "Be content. She actually came to say hello to you. That's quite something. She's a 'resource princess.' Do you know which director she's collaborating with on her next project?"

Song Xi leaned in, and Jin Ying mentioned a name that nearly made Song Xi swear.

"She's that amazing!"

The main filming officially began.

The artists entered the company one by one. Jin Ying was the first to enter. She felt awkward, standing there unsure whether to sit or ask anything, until Mi Xuan entered.

Compared to Jin Ying, Mi Xuan was much bolder. She proactively took Jin Ying to find human resources and decisively chose the seat she wanted.

Jin Ying actually wanted to sit with Mi Xuan, as sitting separately would be too awkward. However, she also wanted to sit with Song Xi. But Song Xi hadn't arrived after a long wait. To avoid being gossiped about later, Jin Ying smiled and asked, "Mi Xuan, can I sit next to you?"

Mi Xuan generously replied, "Of course. Do you want some water?"

Jin Ying waved her hand, "No, thank you. I prepared hot water when I came."

Mi Xuan nodded, then got up and went to the pantry.

Jin Ying was left alone, feeling restless.

*Ding-dong—*

She seemed to hear the sound of the main door. Like a hamster, her eyes lit up as she stretched her neck.

To her surprise, it was Zhai Yixuan who arrived.

"..."

It was over. She felt the temperature drop even further.

Zhai Yixuan chose the corner seat, furthest from Jin Ying and the others.

The atmosphere was extremely awkward, especially since Jin Ying wasn't good at socializing. Now that it was just the two of them, they stared at each other, and the air seemed to freeze.

Jin Ying felt this wouldn't do. When the show aired, people would surely criticize her for being aloof and unsociable. So, she struggled to speak, but before she could even say "Hello," the main door rang again.

Thank goodness!

"Hello, everyone!"

The male artist had curly hair, wore a Japanese-style outfit, and a pair of brown-rimmed glasses. He looked fashionable and tasteful.

It was Wen Junying.

"Hello, Teacher Wen!"

Jin Ying was the first to stand up and greet him.

Wen Junying was cheerful, humorous, and witty. He had none of the airs of an artist. He waved his hand, "Don't call me 'Teacher.' We're all interns here, so just call me by my name."

"Okay," Jin Ying silently breathed a sigh of relief. Now it wasn't awkward anymore.

Not long after, Mi Xuan also returned.

After a brief greeting among them, Wen Junying proactively asked, "I didn't see Song Xi yesterday, did I?"

Zhai Yixuan, who had been engrossed in her book, paused her flipping motion upon hearing this.

Jin Ying's first reaction was to look at the director's camera not far away.

She swallowed nervously and said intelligently, "You can see her today. Song Xi even messaged me last night, crying about how regrettable it was that she couldn't hear you sing live!"

"Hahahaha!" This remark hit Wen Junying's sweet spot. With a hint of pride and confidence in his eyes, he said, "If you don't mind, I'll sing a little bit for everyone during lunch."

"Great!" Jin Ying was very supportive.

Mi Xuan just smiled and asked, "Will she be here today?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Jin Ying saw a blurry figure on the glass door ahead.

Jin Ying smiled confidently, "Speak of the devil."

The three of them looked, and there was Song Xi in a simple t-shirt and jeans, dressed casually and concisely. Compared to the subtle fashion choices of the other three female artists, her attire truly looked like that of an intern.

"Teacher Wen, if you don't mind, I'd love to hear 'The Phantom of the Opera.' I heard you sang it at the theater before."

Upon hearing Song Xi's words, Wen Junying raised an eyebrow in surprise, "You're starting with such a difficult one right away."

Song Xi smiled, "It's just that I couldn't get tickets to your performance!"

"Hahahaha!" Wen Junying was overjoyed and flattered. "Let me know next time, and I'll save you a ticket!"

Song Xi was flattered, "Then I'll gladly accept."

Jin Ying and Mi Xuan exchanged glances, their eyes filled with admiration.

"As expected of Song Xi. Her flattery sounds genuine, not fake at all. Truly impressive."

Zhai Yixuan lowered her head indifferently, continuing to flip through her book.

A while later, Gao Yuan also arrived, and then human resources walked in.

"Good morning, interns! Please take your pens and paper and head to the conference room for a meeting."
