Chapter 115: Are You Dumb?

Chapter 115: Are You Dumb?

Alana🌸;

I let out a sigh as I replay the entire scenario in my head for the umpteenth time.

I’ll wait for Alpha Rhydian to finish his meal, and then I’ll show him the paper and tell him the truth about Bram. That ought to get Bram out of the picture.

I really don’t care what happens to Bram as long as he’s out of the way.

I’m forced out of my thoughts when someone suddenly comes out of one of the corners and stands in my way.

I look up, and my heart skips a beat.

Bram.

My grip on the paper under the tray tightens as I stare at him, and he stares at me in silence.

What is he doing here?

Does he know Alpha Igma, and I know the truth?

"Hi, Alana." He greets, and fear sinks its fangs into the back of my neck as I stare at the young man in front of me.

"I’ve been wanting to talk to you about last night." He says, and I raise a brow.

He wants to talk about how he lied to Aloha Rhydian about me? He wants to talk about him, vehemently denying the fact that I warned him not to set foot in Master Elian’s room.

What does he want to do? Apologize? As if that’s going to change any...

"Why did you do it?" He says, and every thought in my head pauses.

"...What?" I ask in honest confusion, and he sighs.

"There’s no one here, Alana. Drop the act. Why did you lie to Alpha Rhydian that you told me about his order not to step foot into Elian’s room?" He replies, and my jaw drops.

I blink at him in stunned silence and confusion as heavy as a boulder takes up my mind.

What in light’s name is... what’s he doing!?

I look around, wondering if Alpha Rhydian or someone else is behind the pillars or if someone is coming.

Because there’s no way Hes putting on this act for no one. There’s probably someone listening. He’s trying to spin the narrative.

Is he foolish enough to think I will fall for this??

"Stop looking around, and just answer already. How could you do that to me, Alana? Do you have any idea what Alpha Rhydian means to me?? Now, he wouldn’t even look at me. All because of your lie. You knew he would trust you over me, someone he just met, so you played the game you did. Right!?" He snaps, and I can not help the amused scoff that escapes me.

"Bram... I think you left your brain on your pillow this morning. Go back and get it before trying to converse with me. I don’t have time for this." I reply as I try to walk past him, but he grabs my arm with shocking strength and turns me back around.

It takes an immense amount of skill to stop Alpha Rhydian’s meal from falling from the tray, and I glare at Bram with wide eyes.

"Have you lost your mind!?" I yell at him, and his eyes shift from their usual soft, innocent green to hostile, vicious blue.

A gasp escapes me, and I stumble back in horror.

Blue.

His eyes just shone blue!!

A wolf’s eyes only shine blue if it... If it has committed the crime of taking an innocent person’s life.

Not only is Bram a con artist.... He’s a murderer!??

This frail... innocent-looking man is a killer!?

"I asked you a question, Alana." His growl follows, and sweat breaks out all over me when I realise the intensity of the situation at hand.

He’s going to try to hurt me.

With speed so fast that I couldn’t predict, he hits the tray of food away from my hand, and I gasp as the paper with his image and details falls alongside the tray.

I try to go after it, but he grabs my hair and slams me against the wall behind me. My vision instantly blurs, and my ears start ringing. I groan in pain, and he only tightens his grip on my hair.

"Why did you lie to Rhydian!?" He growls, and tears start escaping my eyes as fear floods my veins.

"I didn’t lie to him! I told you about his order. You know I did!" I cry out in panic as I start hoping and praying someone passes by.

"No! You told me nothing! In fact, you told the other maids to tell me to wait for Rhydian in Elián’s room. You did all of this to make sure I offend Rhydian and won’t pose a threat to your master’s position!" He growls, and my brows knot.

"That’s not true..." I begin, but he cuts me off.

"It is! It is true, and that is exactly what you’re going to tell Rhydian right now; if not, I’ll make sure your body rots where nobody will ever find it. Trust me... You won’t be the first." He growls, adding the last part in a menacing whisper, and my heart forgets how to beat.

What... did he just say?

He suddenly takes his other hand to my neck and wraps his fingers around my neck, and with force I never expected from him, he starts squeezing hard, making it nearly impossible to breathe.

Tears start escaping my eyes as I claw at his hand.

"St...stop. I can’t... breathe..." I croak, and he smirks. A smirk that soon shifts into trembling lips and pitiable eyes.

"I know..." He replies, and my vision starts darkening.

"Please, Alana... All... all I’m asking for is your help. Please help me prove my innocence. Say the truth." He whispers in mock innocence and helplessness. The usual performance he has always put on in front of everyone since the first day I saw him.

How is it so easy for him to switch like that? To act like the victim when he’s such a monster??

"What do you say, Alana!?" He then coos, as he returns to his villainous smirk, and suddenly, he’s yanked off me.

The last thing I see before everything goes black is Igma standing between Bram and me.

My eyes dart down to the paper just a little distance away.

I try to reach for it, but all strength leaves my body, and everything fades to silence and darkness.

*********

Igma💙;

"How could you!?" Rhydian yells at me, and my eyes widen.

"How dare I!? How dare he! Did you not hear what I said he did to Alana!? She’s currently unconscious because of him!" I growl, still unable to control my anger.

"I swear by Light, if you didn’t interfere, I would have sent him back to the goddess by now!" I scream as I try to rush past Rhydian to get into Bram’s room, but he pushes me back.

"Can you hear yourself!? Why would you want to hurt an omega!?" He growls, and I lose it?

"An omaga!? That shit is not an omega! In fact, He’s nothing that you think he is. His name isn’t even Bram!!" I scream, and Rhydian raises a brow.

"What rubbish are you saying now? Did you take something?" He questions, and I clench my fist so hard that I feel my palms bleed as my nails dig into my palm.

Alana warned me about saying anything without proof, but the evidence is with her. We’ll show Rhydian when she wakes up.

But I won’t keep silent after what that bitch did to her.

"His real name is Abner Ikostar. He was a con artist your mother hired to undergo the surgery so he could give her the Alpha grandkids she wants!" I scream, and Rhydian stares at me in silence for a few seconds.

He scoffs in what seems to be amusement before his expression shifts to pure, unmistakable disgust.

"This is it? This is the game you’re going to take? You’re going to lie to cover your actions instead of apologising? And that too, it’s such a stupid lie! You expect me to believe this absurdity!?" He screams at me, and I glare at him.

"Don’t yell at me! We have proof!" I growl back, and he rolls his eyes.

"Really? You have proof that Bram Lunarstone is actually some criminal named Abner?" He mocks, and I roll my eyes at how narrow-minded he is.

"Yes! Yes, I have proof!" I scream with my wolf burning right under my skin in fury.

The only thing holding me back is the fact that Rhydian is my cousin, and no matter how angry I get, he’s like a sibling to me.

Other wise I would have done whatever it took to get to Bram and put an end to him right this instance!

"Then where is it? Show me this proof, Igma. Because you Better not have hurt Bram like that for no reason!" He screams, and I see red.

"No reason!? He was strangling my mate, and knocked her out cold! If I didn’t get there on time, he could have killed her, and you are telling me that is no reason!?" I scream, and he freezes.

"Your... your mate? Alana is... your mate?" He questions, and I pause when I realise what I’ve just done.

Shit. I just exposed a secret I was meant to keep. Even Alana doesn’t know yet, and I’ve slipped like this. This isn’t how this was supposed to come out.

"So... Bram was right." He whispers, and I raise a brow.

"Alana was trying to get him in trouble to secure Elián’s place... and you are helping her because... she’s your mate. It didn’t make sense before... but it’s all clear now." He adds, and my jaw drops.

"What!? Are you dumb!?"
